This is a common problem. So I have decided to not remove any obstacles for 4 days and wow within 4 days I got a huge pile of gems. This is just my opinion to show people that you can still get gems if are a patient enough.
Huge pile of gems is not 50 gems . 5th builder hut cost 2000 gems.
Should you support a game you'll likely play for many months and for some over a year? Well its up to you, for the casual user who doesnt want to or dont have the budget to buy gems the free gems help a lot. For the rest, 50 gems is gone in a single 2 hour boost session.

I bought gems just for the 4th and 5th builder, nowadays i just save up free gems and boost barracks when im on a farming binge
