Would be nice to limit who participates in clan wars; either by that person voluntarily electing not to be eligible or by leader picking people to be in war. Sometimes people have situations where they are going to be away from devices for an extended periods of time.

Interesting idea, but if this was put to use, some players may always go to war and some players may never go to war.
I think this is a great idea as it is we do this by leaving clan or asking to be kicked before start of war then rejoining after war has started, but to be able to opt out of war without leaving clan would be great
I fail to see how that is a problem. Players are doing it one way or another by leaving their clans when the war search is about to begin, only to come back later after the selection is made.Quote:

Having said that, I would suggest that the "War Out" option come with a cool off period. Two of the more valid reasons to not participate in wars are if you are in the middle of Spell Factory and/or Hero upgrades, both of which run about 7 days, I think.
Example: The member or the leader can click the "War Out" option, which will then trigger the 7 days period of not being able to participate in wars for that member. When the 7 day period is done, the "War Out" option will be grey-ed out until that member participates in 1 or 2 or 5 wars, at which time, it will be available again.

This is exactly what I have said in my thread leaders should be able to opt clan members out of war as a punishment for not following the clan rules or because that member is on holiday or unable to partake in war as they are low on elixer or upgrading to much what ever reason but it would give the leaders the ability to lead there clans.
