Because if school, I don't have the time to change bases and when I do, it has got to be at least decent because I'm not gonna change it in at least 3 weeks. The top of the base is too weak and can be easily broken into so I'm probably gonna get screwed with. I changed it a few times but I still got wrecked.

So why did you bother? If a base is weak, change it, tweak it and test it. This is the sole reason why you need to test your designs before publishing, it is untested and unproven to work. Continue to play with it until you get it right.
