Why Zapping Is An Issue, But Something We Should Live With.
Hello Clashers,
I have finished reading Azleir's post, here:
http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...-fact-an-issue
The post he wrote is about why Zapping bases with the lightning spell is a problem. And first, well done! These arguments that you formed did somewhat make sense. But, I , for one who thinks that Zapping is NOT a problem, have some thoughts myself.
I have to agree that zapping is a issue. One that can't be stopped, but there may be a way to avoid it. There is no possible way of countering a lightning spell, or any other spell. But a easy way of lowering the risk of getting zapped is putting your Town Hall in the inside of the base. People in higher leagues report that they still get zapped. Well, in higher leagues, trophies matter more. So putting your Town Hall in the middle of your base may somewhat lower the risk of you getting zapped. Here's my explanation. People that zap usually only drop spells, so they loose trophies. If your Town Hall was to be outside your base, they would just drop the spell on your storage's, gain DE, or resources, and then attack your Town Hall, so that they will at least win. So if you put your Town Hall inside your base, they will loose trophies if they just zap. Those who don't want to loose trophies may just skip your base, without dropping spells.
Of course, you still will get zapped. My way of avoiding is dropping in trophies, and not going up. And that proved to be very useful. I don't get zapped now, and I barely loose any DE.
Zapping is a issue, although it isn't one for me. Zapping is part of the game. It's a strategy. Just like farming. Although zapping is a cheap strategy, it does work. And those who value DE more than their elixir will use it. I think that there should be nothing done to stop this. Since everyone can zap, then it's called fair. If you want to get more DE, just zap other people! And now, with the low elixir won from attacks, people will start to value elixir more, and thus, will spend their spells more wisely. This may result in less DE zapping.
These are only my opinions. But I would be interested in what you think about DE zapping. Feel free to comment! Thanks for reading!

do you really define your trophy level based on the zapping risk ?

It's always surprising me the high importance people seem to put on DE and zapping,
I decide mine based on what i can win/loose globally, DE is just one thing among others, not THE thing. And even if i focus more on DE (let's say i want to up hzeroes or dark troops), what matters to me is how much DE i can steal and produce compared to what i will loose (i losing is loosing, i do not miss mor the DE stolen by zapping than the one stolen by goblins, archers, sorcerers or any other troop)
