That awkward middle stage between TH9 and TH10

maxed defenses...level 8 walls...level 10 heros

Should have worked on walls and heroes while you worked on defenses. My new defenses are just hitting th 8 level and im up to 50 legos and level 11 heroes. I plan to be done with legos and have level 20 heroes by the time my defenses are maxed.

I do walls last since upgraded defenses tend to have the most value for me. Too many things ignore walls for them to push aside more urgent upgrades. Right now I am a high level TH9 mostly focused on legos and a few odds and ends left.

good plan..same with mine...although it will take a little longer...my deff are th 7 lvel...except my splash which is almost max. dammm..those tesla and ad...they take forever to upgrade...lol..

This is almost exactly where I am. All defenses maxed, only 1 elixer upgrade left(healer that I never use), only DE upgrades left are minions and valks(never us either), only 2 skulls done, AQ10 BK11. The biggest reason I'm fighting the urge to upgrade is we are constantly out numbered by th10s in war and I feel like I could help my clan more if I upgraded and got the freeze spell.

I agree, that maxing defences take priority over lvl 9 walls (lvl 8 is a no brainer)
defences stop a lot more than walls do, I always maxed defences then moved to walls.

It depends. Walls are often better for wars as they prevent the 3 star, and they also scare people away. Defenses are better at actually protecting your loot though

This^ I did something like this for every townhall but i wont do it for th 10 lol. ill save level 11 walls for last.

I saved all my collector upgrades for th9. my collectors were only lvl 7/8. those kept my builders busy as well as a few traps while i dumped everything into walls and upgraded new super cheap defenses like level one air defenses and such. by the time all collectors were max and all my new defenses were at th8 level I had full legos. I did max all my splash defenses, camps, and made the 2 xbows and such but I did those right when i got to th9 with max out storages. im working on lavas now and any time i get a builder free i try to have them upgrade a trap, my new mortar, or heroes so i can put all my loot into walls still. every once in a while I put my builders on long upgrades and one of them on short upgrade so i can keep putting loot into walls.
