Barching dead collector bases does not take skill, yet people seem to complain about people lightning spelling their DE as it takes no skill, hypocrites.

Damn, I do both zapping and barching. What will happen to my soul? :p
Barching a dead base harms no one, and you can defend against it if you are active, while there is nothing to be done about lightning spells to DE storage. So in other words, one is unstoppable, the other is not. I do Barch, and I don't zap.
Did we really need another thread on this issue? Its not even a decent thread. No well thought out argument.
If you remove zapping as an effective means to get DE, the following should happen:
TH7 gains level 1 DE Drill (possibly upgradable to level 3)
TH8 gains ability to upgrade to level 6 DE drill
Overall, this will increase the amount of DE available to the general economy, and reduce the need to zap in general. Mostly it's because TH7 needs a fair amount of DE, but has effectively zero ways to acquire it. TH8 also has a pretty high DE requirement, and not much in the way of acquiring it either, AND if they ever sit on a decent stock pile, they get steam rolled by TH9.
By the time you get to TH9, it's much easier to get DE. I'm a pretty recent TH9, and I've been able to almost immediately get my AQ built and upgraded to level 4, only with incidental DE, a level 6 and 4 drill, and free builder time (trying to focus exclusively on big elixer raids to finish elixer buildings ASAP).
