Hi everyone,
I was wonder if we can improve Tesla. As it is an active defense using electricity. What about using it in a passive mode as lightning rod that can prevent part of damages caused by lightning potion bottle. It could make sense.
Still need to decide if a tesla can be used both in active and passive mode. Or like the skeleton tomb, the tesla can have a button indicating the mode used.
What do you think?

Yes, many people do it and it's only downside is losing trophy.
So what? They can do what they like and it is not an imbalance.
Now, waiting 30mins for a lightning spell (assuming no boost), then having a way to neutralize that or even lessen the effect will lead for a proposal to have a counter for all the spells.
For example:
a poison fog that lessens heal
something that reduces rage or redirects it
quagmire to stop jump spells (i can't think of a way to reduce jump)
inferno towers emit aura that dampens freeze spells
I like to think that most of us don't want this.
So let's stop with the anti-lightning posts.

I think the idea is good but I believe it should only be effective when near storages so people cant just blast you with a lightning spell or spells and steal tons of dark elixer.

You can't counter all possibility.
I use myself lightning to destroy defense, kill troops from castle clan, to gain missing 50%. What if I have to manage with that to? I would be very please to handle new tactics like that.
Of course, first I had this idea cause of DE. But I saw a lot more use of defensive tesla. And I think that developping this defense can be paired with an improvment of the lightning effectiveness.
Some method of defense against spells in general I support. For instance, a trap that (if the spell is dropped close enough to trigger it) diminishes the effect of any spell.
Anything form of directly nerfing lightning spells specifically is a bad idea.
