Different spin on changing clan name and user name
I know in general that Super Cell has ruled out changing your clan name or user name, and I get the many reasons how it could be abused. But - there are many valid reasons for wanting to change these names too and it would be great if Super Cell could find a compromise. I have a suggestion that I think could reduce the concerns about doing it while allowing those serious about doing a limited opportunity.
Much like Super Cell will kick off a period where something can be boosted for a week or two, I would suggest Super Cell allow a period of two weeks where a clan can change their name for a cost in a resource, or a user can change their name for a cost in resource. Here would be a proposal to ensure only those serious about doing it, and not screwing around with peoples names for fun:
Change your clan name for the cost of one of:
- 3 million Gold or Elixir, OR
- 10,000 Dark Elixir
- Can only be done by a leader (they could choose to hand off leadership to someone temporarily)
Change your user name for the cost of one of:
- 2 million Gold or Elixir, OR
- 5,000 Dark Elixir
I do not recommend using GEMs because many people just cant afford that and using GEMs would effectively block too many people from participating.
The cost would be high enough the deter people doing it multiple times and so the likelihood of people bothering to spoof would be low.
A two week period would be needed to allow people to build up the needed resources. After the two week period another update is rolled out that removes this ability. Super Cell could choose to do it once a year or whatever.
Just trying to think outside the box here on a common request that usually just gets batted down.
