Because the freeze spell is specifically designed as the offensive balance to the defense (inferno tower) unlocked exclusively at TH10. If they gave the freeze spell to TH9, it would offset the balance in favor of TH9 offense. However, TH10 is SUPPOSED to be much stronger than TH9.

TH10 already has a stiff loot penalty. If you give TH9 a stronger offense against TH10 (which includes all other TH levels as well - i.e. TH9 could also use the freeze spell against other TH9's and TH8's), it would greatly disrupt the balance in the game in favor of TH9.

Im in the maxing th9 boat as well, and i attack th8 maybe 5% of the time, so that has nothing to do with me not going to townhall 10. Neither does the loot penalty, since im attacking 9/10s almost all the time.

I already stated earlier in this thread that th9 (above a certain level, example all Legos, maxed defenses, troops, and 30+ hero levels) could unlock the freeze spell without the extra spell slot and only be able to use it in wars. In regular attacks, im not going for trophies so I can work my way around infernos pretty easily and still win and get loot. In wars, you NEED the townhall in order to 2*. Maxed (or nearly maxed) th9s count as th10 in war matchups, this is a fact. In 70+ wars with me and my also maxing th9 coleader, we have ALWAYS Had 2 less townhall10s on our side because we are maxing out bases. This creates a balancing issue in wars. Instead of being able to 3* 2 th9s, both of us have to burn an attack and 2* a th10 then use our 2nd on a th9.

Couple months ago I was the top base in our clans war, at that point I had maxed defenses, mostly all Legos, and lvl 15/15 heroes. The opponent #1 was a th10 with max capacity, max troops, max defenses, max heroes, and 90% lava walls. How the hell am I supposed to attack that? Granted, the guy was a moron and had an awful base setup (which isn't factored in matchmaking) and I got a 2* with gowipe, but had he had a decent setup, that's a severe disadvantage. Im not asking for anything crazy, just something to help offset the very unequal matchmaking in wars. If you go into a war with that much of a mismatch in a supposedly "equal" matchmaking process, there needs to be something to offset that gap JUST A LITTLE BIT.

Something like this just for wars would help bridge the gap. A th10 with lvl3 infernos, lvl4 xbows, and otherwise th8 defenses shouldn't have that much of an advantage over an offensively maxed out th9.

Edit: on your last point:

A WELL DEVELOPED a townhall 10 SHOULD have an advantage over a townhall 9, i completely agree. A th10 with max infernos and xbows with townhall 8 everything else should not have an advantage over a maxed th9. The defensive difference that maxed infernos/bows with awful other defenses have over a maxed th9 is way too big. Reward people for making their bases as strong as possible.

The inferno should also have a disable feature like the shock launcher in boom beach

...Just learn how to attack.
I'm a Th8 currently pushing for masters (In C1) and either I A, just attacks th9's, or B, attack a low th10 that I can take out the inferno(s) on.
The easiest way to beat them is to go around them and attack other th9's. If you're in a high enough league that that isn't an option, then you should be good enough at attacking to beat them.

If I am counted as a th10 in war matchups, I should not be without the ONE SPELL made to counter the ONE DEFENSE that is exclusive to townhall 10.

Pretty simple.

And as for the mouth breather below you that wrote "use freeze /thread": players maxing th9 that count as th10 in wars can't use freeze spells. /ignorance.

The reason you haven't rushed your town hall to 10 has EVERYTHING to do with the loot penalty.


BTW - as a TH9, the only TH10s you'll get ranked equal to or higher than in CWs are rushed TH10s. If you don't care about the loot penalty, then upgrade to TH10 to unlock the freeze spell (and infernos of your own). Then you'll be equally matched. Otherwise, be happy you're not subjected to the loot penalty that those rushed TH10s you get matched with have to deal with and continue maxing TH9 without freeze spells.
