Summary of a Th8's journey from Silver 3 to Master's League

What i learned

• As a TH8, it is MUCH MUCH MUCH easier to trophy push with MASS DRAGS + BALLOONS + MINIONS vs GoWiPe, this is how i was able to breach through master's league
• 2400-2500 range is very DRY with TH snipes, like 1 TH snipe for 2 hours of nexting, but when i reached around 2550 range TH Snipes were like 1 every 30 mins of nexting
• 3 lightning spells with mass drags is a must if you want to ensure a 2-star victory, your goal is to 2-star and you can 2 star almost any middle-tier TH9. It would be next to impossible to 3-star a TH9/TH10 in the Crystal league
• There are NO TH8's, during the past 2 days, except a single TH8 that i encountered. When nexting, around 80% TH10's and the rest are TH9's
• If you have a clan you must ask assistance from your clanmates to give you high level drags or balloons
• Maximize your playing time, dont go idle, the moment you go idle you will be attacked, most likely a revenge, and a revenge costs around 30-60 trophies

• When you do get revenged, ride the whole duration out, rest, eat, sleep, go on with your life for the mean time.
• If you want to gem, gem your rax and spell fac, dont gem the hero and DE raxes
• NEVER EVER TRY TO ATTACK TH10'S WITH INFERNO TOWERS ONLINE. Learn how to look at inferno towers that are OFFLINE
• Most bases have their Xbows pointed to the ground ONLY.
• Before pushing, stock pile with gold and elixir, mass drags is your primary attacking army and it will cost you 360K per attack with spells excluding spells.
• Dont' attack a village if you're UNSURE if you'd get a star

Army and spell compositions i used

• BAM and lightning spells- effective til around 23xx trophies, only good for sniping then zap the DE storage
• Giants + Wizards and heals- i used this when i was at 23xx, susceptible to spring traps, i can only attack premmie TH9's with this. never a 2-star
• GoWiPe and heals- slightly better then Giants + Wizards
• Mass Drags + Balloons + Minions and 3 lightning- can 2 stars TH9's and even TH10s (without Inferno towers), just zap the nearest AD where you're going to deploy your army. THE MOST EFFECTIVE TROOP COMPOSITION FOR TH8 FOR PUSHING.

Timeline

• I started from around 1200 trophies last Saturday, 8PM GMT. Reached 2400 trophies at Monday, 8PM GMT. Reached 2600 trophies Tuesday 8PM GMT

nice info on townhall snipes, im struggling in crystal

Nice thread, useful information inside. Did you find that victory loot bonus + loot gained gave you a positive cash flow with regards to loot? Your armies are very elixir & DE heavy, so I'm just wondering if you'd recommend this push to someone who needs resources while they climb.

Before trying i farmed and filled my storages except for DE and as i was going up and sniping from 2000 to around 2400 trophies, my DE also became filled, but when I hit 24xx trophies, snipe was like 1 every 2 hours of nexting and it's time to use higher tier armies which is elixir-expensive. I used GoWiPe and GiWiPe at first and can only get 1 star out of TH9's , when i switched to Mass Drags + loons + minions, 2 starring TH9's was now possible, though per attack is like around 450k elixir because i used drags and 3 lightning spells per attack.

If you plan to push, better be ready to use A LOT of resources, most especially elixir and you have to put upgrading aside for the mean time because you can't farm and trophy push at the same time (unless you're really good and extremely lucky). The DE that you will be getting as you go up (and down) and also the bonus gems will be worth it.

Oh to add, im still at Crystal 1 as we speak and I have been lucky these past few days for all attacks against me were TH snipes, around 5 consecutive attacks. Im farming and upgrading my DE troops during my stay here which will last around another 4 weeks.

How hard is it to just th snipe to crystal league?

based on what i experienced

Just a couple things though. A) My rule of thumb is that if it takes you more than 3 seconds to decide whether or not to attack a base, HIT NEXT. B) I love GoWiPe, and pushing is (in my opinion) better with it - if you boost all your rax, dark rax, spells, and hero. Since I didn't have gems, I used Dragons, but if I were to continue pushing, I would have used some of the 1000 gem reward to do this.

ohh andn what i did in masters, i 50% th10's and th9 with deep air d and alot of outside buildings, 8 drags, 20 minions 3 lightning, take out 1 air d, place a majority of your dragons on that side, but also use minions for picking off buildings, and spread your drags out, this helped me get to high master 2 :P

oh i also started using drags around 2500 ^.^ before that i barched

NOTE: it was almost a 4 week push for me, as i didnt boost rax or SF sometimes i went without spells ...., sometimes i didnt have enough lix for a full army and had to bring a ♥♥♥♥ tonne of minions then resorted to th sniping to gain lix..

That's a good achievement and very rewarding too.

I also pushed for masters a while back, I did this as a TH9 and wanted to add my experience to this thread. It was tough with L6 troops and surely it would had been difficult with L5's.

I had L6 troops. I Barched easily upto 2400, it was basically four finger fighting technique that I used on bases that I thought was 1 starrable and honestly it was very easy and obviously I sniped TH's when I found them or if they were behind one layer of wall.

2400 - 2475 well it required some thought before attacking. I struggled a little but I caught up. I would say it was just too easy upto 2475 from what happened next but then the whole thing changed.

The frustration starts to build when u loose a battle at 47, 49%. the battles I lost were all around 47% of damage+

the bases with 30 trophies on offer around that range are very tough. Most buildings are inside the walls and well within the range of maxed out defences. I was attacking bases with 15 trophies on offer that were from below 2400; as a result of this I was only getting 4-5 trophies every battle won but in case of a loss I was lossing 30 trophies :( so it would require another hour to just gain what you lost from your last battle.

I kept my TH outside the base and it did attract snipers and not the revenge attacks; so I think I was smart on that :)

I did some thinking, it was affecting my farming as well. My DE storage was overflowing but gold/elixir were pretty much empty from what I am used to seeing in them. I started counting buildings that I could damage with my attack and only attacked if I was certain that I could walk away with 50%

I decided to use 15 hogs alongs with Barch. BANG !!! I reached masters in another 2 hours of play. because now I was being able to 2 star TH9's.

My rewards

1. my BARCHING got better
2. never walked into the battle without at least 2 Heal spells and heores
3. Always took clan castle troops
4. counted for 28 buildings for TH9 and 32 for TH10 and if they can be damaged for 50% and 1 star
5. I learnt that DE is just too easy to come around in Crystal II. It was absolutely overflowing without me going for it
6. 1000 gems helps :)

I think the masters push definately improved my farming skills as well.

I did as Th 8 as well back in June. Last 200 trophies took forever. I did in 36 hours with a 8 hour sleep. Started a around 1100 cups.

Congrats! You must've gotten really unlucky, I did my push back in July as maxed TH8 and I always got sniped. I was full on gold (except when I realized u could buy lvl 5 mini bombs at TH8 at like 2500 trophies) and lix and about 40K DE My TH was covered with 2 layers of decoration, I never got 3-starred, just lower players sniped me. I didn't even try that hard, but I seriously disapprove of the raiding while driving even if stopped cuz of traffic or whatever.

a war base probs wouldnt work, and if you want you can give them the 4th mortar farming variation
