I don't know if I had an off war this weekend but both of my attacks were epic failures (I hardly ever get less than 2 stars and I failed one and got 1 on another). The cuts were placed well but pathed the wrong ways and my dragons divided both times when a clear path in the middle was open.
I'm hoping it was just an off day for me :/
Sounds like an off day man, I had 6 stars this war. One successful 105 2 1 and the other was an 11 light. Haven't done 11 light before so was pleasantly surprised.

First off I commend anyone like yourself that puts his/her time in to give other clashers more knowledge to aid in getting better at this game so THANK YOU!
I am only into TH8 a few weeks and have been experiencing some difficulty in wars when i tried new attack strategies and it was driving me mad as one of the higher members in my clan who "understands" the strategy of this game and the attacks but just couldn't execute them!
Then I found your videos online and then this thread and man this is a goldmine! I tried the 105 tonight and was successful in 3-starring a TH8, albeit a early-mid level but had 3 lvl 5 AD's. I didn't execute the attack flawlessly and my troop combo was not optimal because m damn clan members weren't on to donate but it worked. And no one in my clan has lvl 6 loons so I wasn't expecting a 3 star. I had to go with lvl2 dragons with 4 of my own lvl 5 loons, and after requesting 3 times with no response a new member not in the war gave me a lvl 1 drag and 1 lvl 4 archer and wiz. I used that CC drag to cut along with one of mine. Where I messed up was deploying the loons as I only deployed 2 of them accidentally to take out the backside AD but then realized what I did. However my drags were already at that backside AD with my 1 rage and took it out thankfully. Pheww!
So I am going to keep working on this strategy to perfect it and hopefully one of my TH9's will wake up and upgrade their loons to max.
You'd laugh at the replay but I was pretty darn excited, especially since we are getting smoked in this war and were down by 19 stars and I got us 3 new ones.

I do find it hard to determine "what" strategy to use but I guess that comes with time and experience. That whole thing you talk about on your videos (outside of them all being clustered) is what I need to pay more attention to. Haven't even checked out the 813. I tried Dragon Snipe once and my damn hogs hit a bomb and blew that attack out of the water.
Anyways, that's all I have! Clash on!
Ayup it was just an off day. :p 717 and a 8/8/5 snipe (8 Lvl 4 hogs 5 lvl 6 CC loons) worked out great :)

For dragons Id say 11 light or dragon snipe??
For snipe Id zap the south western AD (830 ish) then send 5 max CC hogs north and 8 hogs east??
For 11 light Id zap id have to look at it more. Either 4 or 8 to zap.
