My strategy : 5 Giants , 48 Archers, 8 Wallbreaker and 111 Goblins , this strategy is not always for winning the Raid but i'm pretty sucessfull with it. And you don't have to use always all troops if you see already at the beginning of the raid.

Goblins and more goblins. Throw in some Giants and archers and wbs in varying amounts. Loot is so easy at 8
you should go to Silver 1/ Gold 3 to farm
I had best luck in the 1600-1900 trophy range for farming when I was a TH8
armies I used was balloonions with 24 balloons, rest minions, 1 rage and 1 lightning for clan troops when DE farming, used BARCH for any other farming with even numbers of barbs and archers
Spent less elixir. That's farming. If you end spending over 100k in elixir with Giants wb archers you better raid 150k in elixir +50k in elixir other wise you'll be wasting elixir. 200 lv5 archers 40k elixir. Cant go wrong with that
