the tesla tower should protect an area of 3 around it from lightning spells
when a lightning strike(not the whole spell, just one strike)hit that area, the tesla tower shows itself and the lightning strikes in that area automatically attach only the tesla tower.
and the tesla tower only take half the damage of the lightning spell which means it can still be destroyed and you can still lightning other buildings after that.
That would be a nice addition to the game to protect dark elixir storages from lightning. :) Maybe they'll add that.
I have been thinking of the same idea for quiet some time now. I even made this account just to post this. So today morning I made a rough photoshop of what I call the "lightning rod", I get on the forums and I noticed this thread. All I did was modify the level 7 tesla a little bit ;). I figured, I would rather just post this here instead of making another thread. I hope you don't mind.
Name: Hidden Lightning Rod (will remain hidden like a tesla untill a lightning spell is detected)
Range : 1-2 tiles
Targets: ONE Lightning spell (Will absorb the damage, but get destroyed in the process)

Purpose: Defend DE or maybe even strategically placing it to avoid getting your cc troops destroyed in war

I've seen to many of these ideas. DE sapping is part of the game. Get over it and just keep raiding
I was leaning more towards strategically placing it to make it a bit of a challenge to lure out cc troops,rather than just letting a hog loose and dropping a lightning spell. Gives more freedom to build a war base without having to centralize your build around your townhall being in the middle.Quote:

Any type of Lightning absorber (including tesla) will make Lighting Spell useless..

There shouldn't be anything done to stop lightning spells from attacking a certain building. Zapping resources is part of the game. It's a kind of strategy. Since everyone can do it, it's fair.
Then to make it "fair" how about no penalty on revenge on me being TH 10 want my DE back from a TH 7 zapper I have that option. Listen to all this "fair" talk, when I first started to play hogs and luring was part of the game and you learned how to build a better base.... Now all I want is simply this, if you want my DE build an army break through my hard earned defenses and EARN it! What is fair about a TH7 dropping 3 lightning on my storage and collecting as much as I would get from a well defended base using a combo of troops? So before you make comments about "everyone else has lightning so it's fair" think about the penalty of going down in revenge. SC needs to make the DE tank more resistant to lightning as it upgrades, same as for Tesla with PEEKA and big bombs on hogs.
