Thanks TomBro3 for your question.
As mentioned in my OP Bowser has it's foundations in Mantis - as does your Lion design I note.
The main differences between Bowser and Mantis are:
1. This design provides additional space at the top of the base for increased building and trap placement -
and importantly room for the Barbarian King to defend the TH from attacks from the North.
2. Improved southern defense with the addition of triple canon placement instead of the double wall layer bomb placement in Mantis. - Anyone with experience attacking a Mantis base is familiar with the weakness from southern attacks.
3. The size and shape of the vault is significantly different to Mantis and enable greater versatility for both amount of buildings and building types.
Not to take anything away from Mantis as it is one of the all time best base designs in my opinion. But for a TH7 with maxxed buildings it is simply not possible to put 51% of your base behind Mantis' walls. This is one of the main reasons I had to develop Bowser, in order for a base to be considered a trophy layout I believe at least 50% of it's buildings must be behind walls - which is guaranteed by Bowser.
I've included an image of Mantis and Bowser wall layouts below for you to make up your own mind how similar or different they are.
