My clan and I would like if we could battle each other w/in the clan just for something else to do for fun. It doesn't matter to us if we don't have to use resources and also don't get any resources if we win each other. We just think it'd be fun to battle each other.

Any exploitable sandbox mode is ruled out.
My clanmates are always battling each other...well...verbally anyway...:p

I don't see this as an exploitable sandbox mode. Don't allow any resources or cups to change hands.
If worried about clan war exploits, make it mutually exclusive with war. Turn off when in war. I think it would be a fun thing for clans to do and stay active.
