I guess it is time to leave my long-term clan

Title kind of says it all.

I joined this clan with my second account last November at level 17. I brought over my original account in January.

During this time I have been the top clan donator since I joined. I have been leader of the clan during our leader's many clash vacations, even when I was level 34 with much higher levels in the clan.

I have been the primary recruiter, the primary socializer, the glue that has kept the clan together.

A few months ago, we were on the verge of becoming a high level clan. We reached the top 3500, we were getting high level recruits, a bunch of us were pushing up, trying to reach champs. We were winning all our wars. We had over 20 donate 2,000 troops in a season and not doing request & go gimmicks.

But things started falling apart.

The immaturity of some of our few younger members annoyed a number of our high levels, so they left.

We started losing wars due to various factors, so some of best attackers left.

We had some high drama members that had to be kicked.

We are at that point that our current war log is killing recruiting. I don't want to war anymore because we have so many bad attackers that it is not worth my time and resources.

I do not even want to recruit anymore.

I know I could force the issue and kick all the bad attackers, the ones who can not even 1 star a base to levels below themselves. We could do 15x15 wars until we cleared our war log.

But I don't want to do it. I would rather be the weakest member of a stronger clan, without the stress of carrying the load. I clash to get rid of my stress, not to give me more stress.

So, I guess it is time for me to go.

So, how do I leave? Do I slink away saying nothing? Do I just say I am going on a vacation? Do I tell them I outgrew the clan 3 months ago?

Will ditching my clan negatively impact my clashing experience?

I have been there in same situation as you are.. I feel for you.

That was the same reason I left my previous clan as well.

As a result I created my own clan 'Tip of CoC' last week and recruiting only adult players who are good at raiding (no rushed bases, no kids, no drama queens, no incompetent players).

It is working well so far. I'd like you come visit us to check us out.

If you consider the leader a friend you might want to explain it to him, but all in all there is no reason to stay in a clan that doesn't benefit you in some shape for form.

It won't negatively impact you as long as you find a good clan to move into. If anything it might be the best move you could make.

Sorry to hear that, guess you should be Brave and move on.

There are many matured clans out there needing a decent player.

This has happened to me before. I've only been in 2 cland in my entire clash carreer that I stayed with for months. One of them is my current clan, and the other was a clan I discovered on global, stayed, donated, and got co-leader in. I liked the clan, but I missed my old clan (current clan, I had left to get a break from wars. It was really high leveled, while this new clan was not as high.) Our high lv players started to leave, and we lost war after war. It dipped to 28 members, and I decided to leave and go back to the other clan. I explained why I was leaving, and left. I've been in my current clan since. It was a good move; I've been able to go up in level , gained extensive war experience, and been all-around much happier. It is just a game after all, you shouldn't worry about offending someone you will never meet in real life. Just do what you think is best for you!:)

Tough spot Mist. I personally find recruiting and new members the most difficult and frustrating part of this game. You get one keeper in 50 recruits it seems. It doesnt take much to kill a clan in this game and we've been able to hold it together because there are 3 clans in the family, so if one gets in trouble, elders from the other go to help out. It's hard though and I find wars especially hard since you get people trained on attacking, get a few bad matchups and people leve and it's back to square one. Good luck to you whatever you choose.

The problem here is not just with recruiting, it is also with communicating.

I suggest you to be in the same clan (If leader is your friend/supports you) and turn it back to good old days.

First thing: Kickout those immature members and bad attackers. Even if you have 10 members, its ok. Its better to be with small group of friendly members than with a large group of immatures.

Next: Recruit only those members who can understand the clan/who care for the clan. Because members mainly look for their personal benefit than clans benefit. Recruit lower level members who are willing to learn.

Then: Keep in touch with all members beyond Clash of Clans. Use social apps.

Also motivate members by promoting them for their good performance in wars. But make sure you kick members who keep asking for promotions. Also let chat be filled with fun activities.

Think most of the people have already said it, do whats best for you. Leave with your head held high. When I left my clan I was in before forming my own. I dropped a message into them all, saying thank you for there time, and informed them at the end of the war I would be gone. I did my two attacks achieved my goal set by the clan and then I left no fuss.

Remember this is a game, and that we play for the enjoyment. Good luck in what ever you do, but sounds like you already know what to do.
