All my attacks are all 3 stars. GoWiPe are so OP if it is executed very well. You can even 3 stars a TH 9 even you're just TH 8. Go watch some tuts and try to practice GoWiPe :) Goodluck!

You will want Wipe troops for sure, but it isn't really viable until a later hall 8 as any semi-decent wipe is going to require lvl 3 pekkas... which take quite some time and elixer to max out.

In your situation if it were me I'd do hogs. Lvl 4's are very efficient for warring. Get those going then at least unlock your pekkas and golems so you can start upgrading them. It's also worth noting that anything less than lvl 4 hogs should pretty much never be used for war. They are trash and will be absolutely demolished by giant bombs.
At the very minimum for a hall 8 wipe you will need lvl 3 pekkas. Lvl 1 Golems will be sufficient for now.
Overall though....Wipe is a much better TH9/10 strategy as royals play a large key as do spells (jump especially). For Th8 Wipe is ok, but usually less effective than Drags/hogs when maxed at your TH.
At TH8 you should be mass dragging for 3 stars or hogging for 3 stars. Occasionally you'll find a HoLoWiWi base and you should jump on the opportunity. There aren't very many opportunities for other strategies. TH8 is limited.
Learn the TH8 3 star. Don't settle for 2 with gowipe.

I have mentioned it before, but let me clarify once again that I am not asking about GoWiPe because I cannot do dragon attacks properly. I can, and I have a lot of 3 star attacks including against spreat out bases. I have used both 3 rage and 3 lightning variations depending upon the base. Nor do I plan to stop it, at least not while attacking TH8 bases. As for Hogs, yes I am a bit disappointed but I also realise that they are only lvl 2 right now and so to get 3 stars against a late TH8 base it has to be done flawlessly. What I really dislike about hogs is that it is usually either a 3 star or a 1 star. I don't remember any of my hog attacks being 2 star attacks!
As for my clan, we are a dedicated but not hard-core war clan. What that means is that if you don't attack in a war, you are out. Even not using a single attack will usually result in removal. We try for 3 stars, but 2 stars are not considered a failure unless you are attacking low. Consistently poor attackers may also be removed. With a nearly 100% participation and good communication, we win almost all wars. Personally, I feel slightly unhappy if I get 2 stars and 1 star is obviously an utter failure. With lvl 3 dragons vs TH8, 2 stars is definitely not a success, it is just average.
Dragons are great, but I just want more variety and I was wondering if I should prioritise Hogs or GoWiPe.

IMO I'd upgrade loons to lv5 and max minions because loonion is the easiest way to 2 star maxed TH8 bases. for 3 starring though it's another story, level 4 hogs are by far the strongest army TH8s have against fellow TH8 and TH9s without anti hog layouts, I 3 star TH9 often with my hogs that gowipe would barely 2 star, maxed TH8 can be 3 starred with lv4 hogs and 2 spells, gowipe is hard to 3 star, but thats just because I suck with gowipe and I'm a noob lol, if you can raid for the DE and you want a 3 star army for war or revenge I'd definitely say hogs, easy to use, fast to train, and KILLER, giant bombs at TH8 are no threat to lv4 hogs, but if you are good at attacking then gowipe would be better, just get wall breaker control down and keep pekkas inside the base, whichever you chose you won'y regret it's all up to personal preference and your skills
Hogs are good for 2 star too, you can 2 star TH10 bases with single infernos or no infernos if you use hogs, concentrate them on a path to the TH and make them take out mortars early, they can clear half the base for easy 50% pickup, use some wb and wizards with a few barch troops to clean up and guide wizards to the TH for 2 star, it's a bit harder to learn but very possible to do and easy to get used to, check out White Lightning Whd's videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x9o...tG2j8-&index=1) on youtube he used hogs as a TH8 to push and very often 2 starred (I did the same in my last push to master)Quote:
