Want a Headstone??? Here's How you Get One!!! (Answer Inside)

P0I know, I know, there's been a ton of threads asking how to get one, how come i don't have one, blah blah blah. Rather than answering one of those and letting the message get lost because 99% of the people out there don't read past the first page, I'm starting a new one with just the answer to people's woes.

Here's the answer....

GO OFFLINE FOR A FEW HOURS!!! If that doesn't work, stay offline all day and check it the next day.

I'll survey it if necessary, but I'm guessing (whether the people who aren't getting headstones admit to it or not), that everyone who has complained about not receiving a headstone, has been online for inexplicably long periods of time.

Here are the Details of how I came to this conclusion:

How do i know for sure. I won't guarantee it, but I tested it on my two accounts. When the update first came out, neither of my accounts was getting obstacles, but that was because I was on them both a lot. I started some upgrades on my second account which were going to take a few days, so I went offline for an extended period of time, and when I checked my account again, I had several obstacles and a.... yes... a Headstone.

I was still playing pretty aggressively on my primary account, and that one hadn't received more than 1 obstacle since the morning of the Halloween update. I continued to play aggressively until I started several upgrades and went offline for a longer period of time. Honestly I noticed it by the 4th hour of being offline, and yes.... I received a Headstone as well as another obstacle.

I'm adding this to the bottom for those who are having a hard time grasping this. If you are stuck on believing something else, sorry I don't perform miracles, I'm just a very observant person and hopefully you are as well...

A lot of dumb dumbs. Ok 1 more time, if you get it great, if you don't, oh well. I'll even label and number this off for all those with learning disabilities.

Fact #1 ...... Everything that spawns on it's own is an obstacle

Fact #2 ...... Obstacles have the "opportunity" to appear every 8 hours

Fact #3 ...... If you are NOT receiving obstacles every 8 hours, it is because you were online when the opportunity came around
* this is the one dumb dumbs are having a hard time grasping, but several people have already said that it is true...
* Because people who stay online all the time don't receive as many obstacles as people who are offline most of the time

Fact #4 ...... The headstone is an OBSTACLE

Fact #5 (the sum of all things) ...... Put your critical thinking hat on now. Put together "Fact #2" and "Fact #3" with "Fact #4".

If you have semi decent critical thinking skills, you might understand that you are not guaranteed a head stone next time an obstacle appears, but if you are online when the "opportunity" to receive one comes up, you are going to miss the "opportunity" for another 8 hours, and if you are always online, you might always miss the opportunity.

I'm sorry, if you don't get it, maybe someone who does get it can dumb it down a little more like a picture book or something. Just don't get mad because what I'm explaining goes against what your best friend, clan leader, or role model told you.

I've been validating it, the way things should be validated, I was online for several days as much as anyone could be online, and I wasn't getting obstacles. I went offline first with one of my accounts, and guess what I got a bunch of obstacles (including a headstone). My primary account, still no obstacles, but then I went offline with that one too, and guess what.... I got a bunch of obstacles including a head stone and a gem box.

Get it? Test the theory if you believe otherwise, than come back and talk.

No you won't. I've already tested it on both sides of it, online and offline. I was on a lot the first few days, and I mean a lot. I only received 1 obstacle on both my accounts for a couple days. I kept track of it. Finally, I went offline for the entire day like i said on my second account and tada I got several obstacles and a headstone. You get a shrub every 8 hrs but its not guaranteed to spawn a headstone.

No it's not guaranteed to spawn a headstone, but like i said in my last post to someone else, if your never offline, you'll never get it... GET IT?

Also I'm guessing that anyone like the guy that said he wasn't going to go offline for the day for a headstone... Ya I'm betting that he and anyone like him don't have headstones.

No it doesn't increase your chances, the opportunity comes along about every 8 hours as many have said, but being online persistently takes away the opportunity at whatever chance you had when it's time to potentially receive one.

It's like winning the lottery. If you never enter to win, you'll never win, but if you enter to win, the opportunity to win now exists whatever the odds.

Thank you someone who gets it. Hi five. I noticed it to over time with my 2 bases. I'm spend a lot more time on one than i do on the other, and I noticed that the one i spent less time on was receiving more obstacles and you said it more Gem Boxes. Now the same applies to the Headstone.

One spawns every 8 hours. If you are still online while one tries to spawn. It will spawn next time you reload the game

Mine is totally opposite with OP. My main account, which online at least 4-12 hours a day, got the headstone almost immediately within <10 hours after the maintenance update.

My dormant account, which online few minutes, couple of times a day, still have not get the headstone as of now.

Agree. Thats what happen to me also my second account who is just th5 that i dont open regularly received this tombstone. Maybe i use it once every 8 days? lol. But my main account didnt get when.:mad: ill try this maybe it will work. Its a collectable Obstacles you guys! :rolleyes:

Ok time to take a 3 days break from this game.. What you say is true me and my friends are extramly active and none of us got the headstone while 4 of my cousins and my brother (who didn't play clash from the last Christmas update) all got a headstone.. Btw thanx for posting this :D

Just because there's still a ton of people asking the question and i don't feel like going to each thread and explaining how to get your headstone.

Btw. Hope you guys who are trying it out will get your headstones soon. Be patient with it. It does work.

I think this is Supercell's way of giving us the incentive to be offline as much as we're online. A balance if you will. Yes we protect our resources when we're online, but we have a higher likelihood of getting obstacles which turn into free gems, and of course we don't miss our chances at getting the limited time holiday headstones.

On a side note, the base i'm more inactive on collected over 200 gems in 2 weeks from obstacles, whereas the base i'm more active on, only collected about 60 gems. Unless you are buying gems, you gotta admit, that is a pretty important thing to know and something you wouldn't want to miss out on.

Thank you so much Max, I was really getting disheartened by the few Tombstones I had.

I wanted to be THE chosen one, that didn't work out.

So I thought I'd give your method a try!

MAN WAS IT WORTH IT!

I logged off for about 13 hours. Not 12. Not 14. 13 Hours.

When I logged back on, this is what I connected to!

Everyone, follow his advise. Log off, put the game down. Do this if you want to MAXIMIZE the Tombstones that you receive!

I'm not saying I'm the world record champ right now, but I think I'm close!

Agreed. Last Christmas I logged in every week or so and got 6 X-Mas trees. The Christmas before that I logged in every day and didn't receive even one X-Mas tree. It's actually the same with Gem Boxes imo.

After 10-15min searching for a raid, I saw one headstone appearing in my base:cool:.

That is simply not true. You have the POTENTIAL to get an obstacle every eight hours, but if the random location on the base is occupied by another item, you do not get one.

It has nothing to do with being online, as I mentioned above, I got mine between raids, just as I have also gotten other obstacles between raids.

You do not have to be offline. You just can't be viewing your own base.

I've been offline most of the time in the past few days, and I don't have one.

I've gotten on for 20-60mins at a time, then leaving for 1-8 hours at a time, still no luck.

I'm going to check right now.

RESULT FROM FUTURE: Still no, just two tree trunks and a mushroom...

EDIT: Also, others are saying that you don't have to be offline...

Yes it's random at very 8hour if you're offline

When you're online the whole day I can say I did not even get any obstacle spawned in my village :'(

My friend is not an active player and he gets like 2-3 gem box in a week while me as an active player
I only get maybe 0 or 1 gem box in a week :'(

Last month and this month I got only like 3 gem box

Great Post Max! What about the number of headstones possible per layout? We saw multiple Xmas trees, but gem boxes are singular. Is there a max of 1 headstone at a time? I want mine in a different spot, but I'm keeping this one until I get another just in case.

dude it makes no bliding bit of difference whether you are online or ot, obstacles spawn if there is space for them to spawn every 8 hrs... online or not.

you say headstones are obstacles as if you knew this for sure...i have a hunch they are behaving more like gemboxes, which makes me think you can only have one at a time...and it kinda makes me fear, as long as you ahev one you cnt have a gembox... anyone can confirm that?

Also make a compact base so there's more space for obstacles to spawn. I was lucky and got a headstone spawn next to my th in the corner of my base in the outside strip where no buildings can be placed.
