everything you wrote up is useful ash . i follow your videos strategy and using hypercube base for de farming . its worked great . now i can store up to 100k+ de for my heroes . they upgrading non stop . sometimes got raided by gibarch /hog barch th 10 with freeze and this hypercube work great. they manage get 3/4 storage but no de or at lease 3-10 de from drill . thanks again ash . queen going to 18 / bk / 21

UPDATE & NEW JOURNEY

Updated many parts of the guide and will be updating more soon!

I have begun a new journey with my Town Hall 9 account in which I'm going to attempt upgrading both of my heroes at the same at all times without using any gems or boosting! This should be very helpful to all farmers struggling to farm DE or make DE faster after the new update.

I. Introduction (NEW)

Hello, my name is Ash and I'll be going on a new journey to maxed level heroes. Much like my previous journey to level 40 Heroes (check post #4). However, it will be different. The game has changed a lot recently. You can no longer drop Lightning Spells on Dark Elixir Storages. Barbarians and Archers have been nerfed even more with the recently added HP of many structures. Even so, I'm going to attempt to upgrade both my Barbarian King and Archer Queen at the same time at all times without using any gems! That includes absolutely no boosting. This journey will be done on my Town Hall 9 mini account, 'Eternal.' The second post of this thread outlines my 'Ultimate Dark Elixir Farming Guide,' where you will find everything you need to farm Dark Elixir fast!

Journey Rules and Regulations:

Journey Start Date: 7/8/2015
Starting Level of Heroes: Barbarian King at level 12, Archer Queen at level 14
Absolutely no gems will be used. Which includes no boosting, gemming timer, etc.
Both Heroes will be on upgrade at all time possible! Which means that I will not use them for farming nor wars. They will both remain on upgrade at all times.
My journey and experience will be documented biweekly. Which means that I will share information regarding how I farm, what army compositions I'm using, how much I'm making per hour, etc; every 2 weeks.
Furthermore I will also document my journey on YouTube of how I'm progressing and share all my strategies there as well. So make sure you're subscribed!

BAM - 2 Barracks Barbarians, 2 Barracks Archers, 1 Barrack each 2 Wall Breakers, 2 Dark Barracks of 8 Minions each. For a total of about 8 Wall Breakers, 16 Minions, and rest Barbarians and Archers. (Unboosted) - Theoretical Training Time For Full Army: 19 minutes and 33 seconds (actual time of completion is much shorter, depending on how long you are nexting as Barracks cook troops while you are searching and raiding).
Spells: Only cook Heal Spells and 1 Poison Spell

Thanks Mark! And yes, I use Clan Castle troops consisting of some Barbarians and Archers or Minions. It's crucial to use Clan Castle troops for DE Storage raids with your Barbarians and Archers to minimize the risk of not getting to the storage as much as possible. Since I will not be using my Heroes to farm with, the best way to utilize the CC troops in a DE Storage raid would be to pair them up with my Barbarians and Archers. This also does not harm my efficiency since I'm not boosting and can request every 15 minutes. Hopefully that's clear?

Since the update in barch price and the increase in hitpoints of some structures (and the ability to queue spells might or might not be part of the problem), I am finding it extremely difficult to conserve pink. So much so, that every few barches I have to forego De for pink. The updated hitpoints means now you have to deploy more barchers to get the de storage that you might have previously gotten with less troops. I am using Gibarch BTW in Silver 2-3, maxed troops, no heroes.

Has this been anyone else's plight as well??

Hi ash im not good using BAM so can you pls give me other troops comp and where league should i stay farmin alot of d.e

Cool update Ash, I know I will be following along.
Going to TH9 myself so I might attempt to max heroes in this way too after a few weeks at TH9 but using Gibarch instead of the standard BAM.

Just requires a lot of practice to master the BAM method. BAM is the fastest way to farm DE, but also is one of the hardest if you're inexperienced with it.
