Is there something so great at playing at high trophy levels that I'm missing? When playing at lower range, the bases are easier to attack, and loads of resources to be gained. There isn't a need for a big high tier army, so rebuild times are nice and short. I constantly have plenty of elixir to use up, so can happily upgrade troops to max, making attacking easier. Spells don't get used much, so gold always flows. I rarely need to even think about using gems to speed up army build, or instant build through lack of elixir.
Contrast this with high trophy attacking (2200+). Few attacks using all troops, and use of spells. The result is often a few trophies gained, decent amounts of gold and elixir which are then used to rebuild armies and spells, big waiting time between attacks. Also, more losses than at lower range, so added frustration at all the effort with no result (hello 49%). Then I run out of elixir or DE quickly, and wait for collectors to give me some stuff.
I just don't get it. Attacking at a lower range (for me) is sooooo much more fun. Destruction of your enemies and all that jazz. More wins, more loot, less time required waiting around.
I appreciate that some folk want the thrill of the high trophy range, but after listening to Jorge on the interview, working at that range seems awfully dull (one hour watching the hourglass looking for a victim? no thanks). Now I know most people aren't up there, but there's nothing there that interests me! All the emphasis on trophies just seems like an exercise in pointless frustration.
But that's why CoC is fun, it suits everyone, so please don't try and make it a one size fits all.
