Since the update of using elixir for wall upgrade, many bases become unattractive for raids. Many players need to spend longer time and more golds to find an attractive base, as economy pie has becomes smaller. Many players have faced difficulty to farm, especially elixir.
I noticed that there are more TH7 and 8 with higher level walls. I even noticed that a few bases with empty xbows although they are active (with busy builder and without tombstones at base). Besides, my defense log showed quite standard economic troop combination, with batch, wb and giants. This is quite lack of surprise and excitement from opponents in general, except for those players in higher leagues like master and champion as they are pushing for trophies.
All of us know that upgrading wall is a long long process. There are 250 walls for TH9 or 10. Even with both gold and elixir, it will not change the fact that wall upgrade needs a lot of resources. Just look at our own gold and elixir loot profile, compared to a single wall that needs more than 8.8 million resources to reach maximum level 11.
SuperSteve of Supercell did mention that they never removed inactive villages. Never have, never will. I trust this statement.
I have read many suggestions to solve the problem of poorer economy to attract more players with higher town hall to stay active in this game. These suggestions are including offer of gem boost for resources, increase the level of collectors, loot bonus in normal raids and war win bonus, decrease the cost of walls and 'nexting'. However, these seems to be hard to solve the current issue in long run, as many players will continue to dump gold and elixir in wall upgrade, to make their bases to be unfavourable target for resources.
Suggest that elixir for wall upgrade can only be done if there is still balance of minimum 4 million elixir in storages after any wall upgrade. With this suggestion, it will not affect the TH8, 9 and 10 players according to the current maximum level and number of elixir storages, as well as level of town hall level required for a wall upgrade. TH7 players will be affected as they can only have 2 maximum elixir storages, hence the balance of minimum 4 million elixir in storages after any wall upgrade can be adjusted to let say 3.5 million elixir, or restrict TH7 players to upgrade wall using elixir in order to encourage them to upgrade town hall to higher level. Th6 players are not affected as they can only upgrade their walls up to level 6.
Here are the benefits of this suggestion:
- Supercell does not need to terminate the usage of elixir on walls.
- The players will not have to waste elixir because of overflowing in elixir storages for some maxed bases except walls.
- The suggestion has also considered the percentage lootable by town hall level, and the storage amount to reach cap. Hence, the number of attractive bases available out there perhaps will be back to a stage similar to pre-update level. More players will continue to enjoy this fantastic game from Supercell.
