How about making it so you can only join 2 clans per week?
This will still allow players to move to a friends clan, an back to their own clan.
Also it should make players a little more loyal to the clans they belong to.
Whats your thoughts on this?

I disagree, I have to visit our feeder clan and visit clans my family members stay in sometimes whenever they need me :( I've been loyal to my clan for more than 8 months, no many members here have stayed for longer than me. Once u find truly great members they won't leave u, so don't worry about hoppers, think of them as another chance to donate more n get more XP! :D
I don't think anything negative should be done to hoppers. They have the right to join a clan that think suits them best.
Hoppers help you in a way for xp. Just put your clan on invite only. Or if a hopper joins give him some goblins and boot him. Only if he requests right away. Hoppers can make you look good by giving you more Xp and raising your donation count. Win win!
Hoppers have their place in the game, often times people hop in order to fast track the "friend in need" achievement but I can certainly understand if some clans prefer to have more loyal members that would stick around.
How about either adding a recent clan history to the profile page or a statistic like # clans in past 30 days or, even better, allow leaders to specify the clan entry criteria on the clan page (such as the # of trophies that's currently available) to specify a maximum value for the # of different clans in past 30 days?
I am a clan leader with basically only loyal members who all hop every now and then and return. I have no other hoppers. I think I know why. It is because my clan is on invite only.
So, nothing else needed, the way to prevent hoppers is already there, it is called invite only, lol
Hoppers leave when they don't get what they want.
Although, Dave, if you are reading this. You keep popping in to see whats up, We war on Friday, If you want to swing by then, we will be happy to have you back on weekends.
I appreciate a good dependable Mercenary!
Best way to help deter hoppers .... I keep saying this all along .....
Remove CC troops when you leave a clan. Plain and simple as that. No fuss ... no muss. Can't take em with ya when you go!
But then I can't donate troops to my friends who pop in or feeder clan. That and you remove the ability to donate 5 goblins and boot them before they can leave, which is an awesome part of the game. Free movement between clans is a good thing and there should be no mechanism to discourage it. Just manage your clan better, set it to invitation only, and smile when you polish your boot on their back sides. No problem.
I kind of like this idea. Although it doesn't stop people from requesting troops, raiding with them and THEN leaving. And booting them after the donation doesn't work because they'll have already hit attack and it'll be too late to take their troops away
EDIT:
This is also a good point. A better point
It irritates me when I put out a request for Wizards (or similar, not the point) and these guys think they're so great for dumping Giants or Goblins in my CC. I don't need thatQuote:
Some hoppers are cool. Like the ones who donate good troops and leave
Everyone has a right to stay or leave a clan...I'm a leader of a clan but I don't mind hoppers as long as they don't join any of my wars...I make sure that the member have stayed for a week before he joins our war. How'd I do that? I tell every war participant to raise up their trophies and the non-participants to put go down a bit. If the new guys don't follow then I boot them.
Double-Kicked?
That would be a problem. Then you'd be clanless for a week
Maybe 5 clans a day?
Please quote me where I said those people were parasites. I've said I don't like the ones that beg and leave, and I've said I don't like the ones that donate garbage and leave, but I don't remember calling the people you're describing parasites or even anything negative
The issue isn't the hoppers that join a clan to donate for XP. Those are no big deal at all. They join, they donate, they leave. All good. Don't like their donations....dump in the goblin world.
It's the ones who join, request and then leave when the got thier fill. Even for war. Think they are there for war, get big war troops and then leave. It's the same principle. They are there for the troops. Not every clan is huge and does the invite only. Not every clan is huge and has major players.
Take the troops out of the equation...deter the hopping. It's really no big deal to do. Leave the clan...loose ur CC troops. You still get the XP for the donation....they loose the donation when they leave.
As for the very few % of peeps for feeder/friends clans, well....unfortunately that is a casulty. The % of annoying hoppers far far outweighs those of feeders/friends.
Check out the Friend in Need stat before accepting someone to your clan.
Have a clan policy where new members must donate before they will receive donations themselves
Don't donate the expensive troops to new members. Make them prove themselves
Require a minimum donation level and/or donation to received ratio
there are all sorts of ways to manage this yourself. Personally, I'd rather not see SC try to do something to "manage" this issue. It would likely have negative repercussions in or aspects as previously noted in other responses.
Instead of rest restricting how many time someone hops in their profile show how many clans they have been in the last 2 weeks.
Stop making sense Axion.
Some good points..more bad ones..an some completely obvious ones ZZzzzz
Id much more prefer to encourage wife-swapping than clan hoppin lol
The points about xp and donation ratios.
-Why would I want xp? Seriously..SC can keep it!
-If you need clan hoppers to improve your clans donation ratio..it kinda says something about how your clans run.
We do have invite only, but occasionally open it up for some fresh madness. Ive met some really cool people, one even recruiting for his own clan lol. Even he stayed longer than some, an donated. Sure there are good ones, but as someone else has said..the bad outweigh the good.
We are not a small clan, so this does not effect us..at all. But I imagine some new clans out there, tryin to bolster their ranks are not amused by this.
Thanks for your imput chaps. An I guess, trolling is the belly of the beast...sadly :(
I use to help my clan academy more than twice a week so it would be a pain in the ♥♥♥ to jump only twice from a clan to another.
They will just spam your clan chat with vulgarity and donate unwanted troops until you boot them out with no penalty. You all seem to forget that you are complaining about people of low moral fiber already. They are not going to suddenly be changed into well behaved, socially responsible gamers. They will simply find a new and more disruptive way to troll.
That simply begs the yet unanswered question again . . . Why do you want to force somebody to be in your clan who doesn't want to be in your clan? You hate them, they hate you . . . sounds like a race to see who can click the leave/boot first is the best solution. You should be happy they are gone. Not finding a way to make them stay.
