the troops i usually use:
28 loonz, 40 minions, heal spells, king+queen
or
28 loonz, 40 minions, 2 heal spells, 2 rage spells, king+queen

TIPS:

• many ask me why i don't use rage spells instead/with the heal spells. the answer is very simple. it take only 30 min to make a heal spells. so by the time those troops will be ready i'll always have 2 heal spells ready (which is usually enough). i always put 2 heal first for cooking and 2 rage after. so in one war i'll have 2 heal at least, and if i didn't use a heal spell in a raid, i'll have a rage as well in the one after.
• save as many minions as possible to the end (where you have a clear way to the DE storage).
• usually attacking close to the DE storage location will give the best results.
• don't use all balloons together. use them wisely regarding to the distance and type of the defense. for example, if it's a close cannon or mortar, use just one. if it's a close arch tower/wiz tower usually 2 will be enough. with more experience you'll have the "feel" for how many to use. against higher level bases, you might need 3-4 balloons at each defense, so make sure you pic a base where the dark elixir isn't centralized with infernos, xbows and whatever surrounding it.
• a wise idea would be to use a heal spell next to a wiz tower, or on the way to a far air defense. heals don't work when inferno is shooting you, so think about the placement of the spells.
• i usually use 4-8 balloons for one air defense (depends on the level and distance of it).
• defenses which are not on "the way" to the dark elixir storage are non of your business!! get rid of defenses that can stop you and leave the rest.
• sometimes it's better using the heroes (the queen especially) for cleaning defenses, but sometimes you can send it together with the minions. choose the best way depending on the base. if the enemy queen is at reach, don't hesitate dropping your king at her. it's worth it and your balloons will say thanks!!
• be patient when searching!! if you're after dark elixir, i wouldn't attack a base with less than 1500.
• gold I and higher are great leagues for DE farming. In crystal you can find bases with 2500+ DE easily!! if you can survive there, stay there!!
• don't forget the CC. gather them, and take them out with a single balloons for archers, 2 balloons packed together for wizards, or 1 balloons and some minions for wizards.
• release some balloons at some close defenses together. while all of the defenses focus on the first 2-3 balloons that you released, you can take out the rest of them with less balloons. if you release 2 balloons and wait, then release another two, it won't be much effective. the idea is to get rid of some defenses at the same time.
• don't just send 2-3 balloons to take out the CC troops. use the balloons to take out defenses while the CC troops are coming out. you'll get two things together: CC troops are out, and you got rid of defenses.
• if you have a clear way to a storage (means all defenses are out), using 2-3 minions on it would be enough. use the rest to get other things, and don't worry about the time.
• generally i would avoid inferno towers, especially if the dark elixir storage is right in the center of the base. if it's a single target inferno, you should be able to handle it!!
• if the base got inferno towers (multi target) AND the xbows are on air, keep searching (unless the dark elixir is at a really easy location).

What Im saying is, there is more detailed guides out there. Ninjas guide, Brandons and someone whos name i cant recall right now. They made a really detailed post, not just videos of raids. If you care to explain in a written format the strategy used , trophie ranges, why not go higher, or lower, etc, I would be a better guide.

i will try to improve the guides when i'll find some free time for it. thanks for the reply, and hope the raids help :)

10 wall breakers, 16 giants, 8-12 wizards (#of wiz determined by how high your trophy count is) the rest Barch. Boosting 2 barracks cook time is around 15-17 mins. Bring a heal and a rage. You'll get inside no problem...get the storages, etc....don't have to wait forever for loonians, don't have to spend any dark. I farm dark between 2100-2500 trophies and it works perfect for me.

thanks for the feedback, i'll try working on it, and maybe find a better and less "laggy" video recorder to improve in that aspect too.

The DE per hour doesnt seem too good, thats a 56 minute army for at most around 2.7k proft, usually below 2500

if you attack 10 times a day (and we usually attack more...around 15 times), that's around 25,000 per day. if you want to, you can make barch troops with minions while the balloons are cooking (so you'll have around 8 balloons and barch+minions). with this army you can take out some bases meanwhile (especially with full pumps), and use those 8 balloons if needed. i was doing that alot when i had time...

That certainly works, but I use BAM in Crystal III-II and I think that's much more efficient. I don't want to have to boost my barracks every time I do some raids, but I do like training balloonions overnight. :)

You say you "dont have to wait forever," but this army comp actually takes longer to make than a balloon army. With boosted barracks my loonions cook in 12 minutes.

Nice guide. I defintely learned a few things using balloonions. I used to deploy everything without thinking. I thought it worked the same as all dragon swarm.
