Should be put in. Its not that much money they're making off it.
Signed again. Fix this already. Supercell preaches keeping the game balanced, but my clan plays a clan that has no heroes upgrading, and we have 3 or 4 guys upgrading heroes (just an example). How is that fair? oh that's right all about the money and wanting people to gem them.

(There are several technical issues with having heroes available during war but not in multiplayer (not to mention the weird combinations possible - heroes defending, regenerating, attacking in war right before the upgrade finishes etc etc) and one of the reasons is that, while we take "snapshots" of War Bases for defense in war, we do no such thing for attacking armies.
In short: to my knowledge this idea is not ruled out, but it's not something I see happening anytime soon due to its technical complexity)
I disagree with the complexity being an issue:
The problem is that the game treats them as a building and not a troop, which for me boggles the mind, all other offensive troops and spells are usable (whilst being upgraded) and it is just plain unfair for a player to not be able to use them, I think supercell have to accept/concede that the Heroes should be usable both in Clan Wars and in multiplayer.
But if they are adamamant that it should only be for clan wars with a little bit of ingenuity they should be able to make it available just in clan wars and I don't think it should be that hard for them to encode all they need to do is change the attack platform for clan wars rather than copy the attack platform for multiplayer, i think there is an element of either laziness or reluctance because of the revenue loss.
Or slightly harder encoding is to create a pause resume function for the hero upgrade.
