How's my TH4 base?

Greetings, everyone! I've been on this Clash of Clans kick for a little while now. I've read up on base building strategies a bit and have applied some core concepts.

For instance, as you can see, my defenses are spread out with my mortar, town hall, and clan castle towards the middle. I even took the funneling concept and applied it in a way that will lead enemy troops such as giants toward traps. Also, my resources are spread out in a way that makes it harder for goblins to loot everything. So far my base has trouble defending against wizards and LVL 4 archers.

So what are your suggestions? Am I doing everything right? What can I improve on?

Hey have you tried to box your defenses with your walls it really helps

I would try to add some more compartments. This way it won't take 4-5 wallbreakers to break into your base.

Can't really say much at this level. Try reposting this thread when you hit TH6, as atm it doesn't matter.

Maybe I'll just re-post once once my town hall level is higher. I don't really have enough walls to do what I want yet. Thanks for the tips, guys. :)

builder's huts insite your walls is pointless.

Yeah nice base but until TH 6 u can pretty much always be three starred by someone of your TH lvl. Also, at TH 4 and S2, u gotta farm.

Nice base, but defence doesn't really matter until you hit th 6-7.

Farming is gathering resources. You can do this in 2 ways in Clash of Clans:

1) Collect resources from your mines
2) Raid

Some common raiding strategies are: Archers and Barbarians, Archers only, Archers, Barbarians and Goblins, or to be honest, at the lower levels, sometimes just straight goblins work well :D

Yes, there isn't much you can do at lower TH levels because there will always be SOMEONE who can smash you - for example, even if you are a fully maxed TH5 - or even sometimes TH6 - a half decent TH7 or higher army can totally smash you and there is nothing you can do about it.

So yes, for now, farm and protect your resources.

Another thing you can do is leave your TH outside your base, because then sometimes people will come, shoot it and leave - then you get a free shield at only the cost of a few trophies - which at this point you don't really need anyway.

You can also try Googling key words such as "Barch" "BAM" "BAG" and "TH? raiding strategies" where TH? is your TH level.

That helps out a lot. Thanks! I do have another question though. Would it make sense to leave my town hall outside my village base, but keep it inside my war base? I'm thinking I wouldn't want to hand my opponent a free star for war.

Absolutely! Yes, you want to protect stars in clan wars, but in farming, you really only care about resources. The only time you really need to worry about protecting your TH outside of clan wars is when you are trophy pushing or trying to stay at a certain trophy range - which you don't really need to worry about till TH6-8

I appreciate the link you sent. I'll definitely refer back to it.

Really good placement of mortar and you should only put your builders hut on the inside of your base if you have the space for it, which you do, so good job. repost at a higher TH.
