Where did the decorations go and are we ever going to get them? Halloween will be here before we get them. Update isn't working.........Put it back please so we can enjoy it..

How long did Halloween last in Hay Day last year?
I don't know about other folks, but in my household Halloween decorations go up the 1st of October and come down the 1st of November. Christmas decorations go up right after Thanksgiving and last until the first week of January.
Not sure about Halloween last year but the Xmas theme was around til late January/early February. It was Xmas overkill to say the least.
2 weeks prior and 1 week after the Holiday should be plenty of time for folks to enjoy those themes. Anything longer than that is totally unnecessary. Other games I'm playing already released the Halloween theme last week. I'm just hoping the reason for the delay is that they're working on new Halloween decos in addition to the ones we got from last year. Hint hint and chop chop, SC!
I'm not a fan of holidays bleeding over. I'll be annoyed if they delayed Halloween 2 weeks just to have it going on 2 weeks into November. I think 4 days after the fact is sufficient to wrap things up, anything longer than that feels like someone's being lazy about taking the decorations down. ;P
Part of the joy of decorations is the anticipation leading up to the actual holiday, after it's over it's like, "Why is this stuff still around..?"
With the Halloween decorations I still have none not one I thought hay day did holiday seasons
Well all I can say is that other game I play, switched to Halloween yesterday. Normally they copy hay day so blatantly (they just added bees) that I call mine, "not Hay Day". But this time they are ahead. And it was so cute. I can't wait till we switch over also!
I wonder if the game is getting so big that "any" update is a major headache for them. Recent ones have all come with problems for many players. SC tries so hard to do it right and I imagine that is what is delaying this one as well.
I think this is kinda ridiculous...2 weeks until Halloween, and NO update yet??? I have been waiting patiently since they teased us with it for 12 hours in Sept! I didn't get to see the holiday updates last year and I don't have any halloween decor like folks from last year (oviously). I can't even start decorating early if I wanted to! :(
I'm tired of waiting, hoping, and being disappointed. In my opinion I think the update with the beeswax, candle maker and candles should be on the back burner and they should focus more on Halloween right now while we have LITTLE time to enjoy it!
Been down for maintenance for awhile. Is this finally it?
It is it! I got a message saying a new version of Hay Day is in the Google Play store!
Or not.
I have the Candle-Maker, but still no Halloween.
There's fall colors on the trees, but no Halloween.
Yes I was surprised to see that. Perhaps they will appear next week.
Bummer. I was looking forward to buying more decorations. I need more pumpkins!
Ha ha , I think someone forgot to include all the 👻🎃👻🎃 ..... Another maintenence break 😄
So, the "Halloween" update was accidentally released 3 weeks ago. Then it was recalled. Now we are given this update - the only new thing seems to be a dinky candle maker, bees wax, and some fall trees. What happened to the actual Halloween decor/theme?
Halloween is 14 days away - this is LAME-O! Should have saved it all for one update.
On a side note, anyone else notice that in the update, the DD now bookmarks the last page you were on when you clicked. Nifty feature, saves time from flipping over and over again through the same pages you purposely skipped!
What else did this update bring?
i think people are confused. this is the fall update, not the halloween update. the halloween one will come later.
when you updated the game, why didnt you read about the new features?
agreed.. Fall update looks so much better with all the autumn trees.. Love the colour.. Halloween update might probably follow sometime next week when we are closer to halloween.. No one said it has to be together with the update.. And having a halloween patch is pretty quick and fast..
this is the first time i've seen the fall colors as i'm quite new to Hay Day - I love love love it.
If i had known about this , I would never have cut down any of the trees
I also love the new "flip to last page opened" feature of the DD.
but i hate the candles and stuff, the dead nectar trees have littered my farm!! I wish there was a tractor / composter feature as suggested by some in the "ideas & features" page.
Do people actually read new features on every app update? My free time in my day would whither to seconds to enjoy if I read every single app update. The point being - there was an expectation with an update so close to Halloween that was not delivered. To be honest, I was expecting to wake up and see another sneak peak in the forum before the actual update.
Also, my apps are set to automatically update so it's not something I generally go back and look at. I looked on FB and saw that the update occurred so I opened it up only to find some fall trees and a candle maker. I think A LOT of people will be disappointed in this.
Maybe developers celebrate holidays different than Americans. Americans typically acknowledge the holiday with decor a few weeks up until the holiday. Take the time to take it all in and enjoy it. Even another forum post mentioned that last Halloween update came out on October 16th last year (http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...lloween-update).
Just seems so pointless to give us what is looking like maybe a week with the Halloween decor. Even the day after Halloween, we are over Halloween. The next holiday is Thanksgiving and we are already preparing for that.
Yeah, all my trees were chopped to make room to farm. The only thing that really is noticeable is the brown trees in the surrounding land. Other than that, I only see a few patches of fallen leaves here and there. Since the crop trees and the trees you buy to decorate with don't change with the fall theme update, my farm doesn't look all that much different than it did before the update.
I also agree with the disdain for the candle stuff. It's literally throwing lighter fluid into the dried up nectar bush fire for many players. I fortunately can afford to use Tom for axes. Not everyone can. Players also should not have to rely on trading on a game platform not well designed for trading to get axes either. So, looks like we will have another 50+ threads this week on dried up nectar bushes!
Maybe it's childish, but I've been eagerly waiting for the chance to decorate my farm for Halloween. It never occurred to me they wouldn't be included in this update. It's already October 16th! By the time I can buy decorations, Halloween will be practically over. I don't want to spend the time (and coin) to decorate my farm only to have to pull it all down in a couple of days.
your behavior is very typical of clash players. they do not like to read things, ever! which is why whenever they play hayday they are extremely anxious and want to know everything at a go without reading those stickies that people so painstakingly wrote. its up to you whether you want to read the new features or not because its not only on the appstore but on the announcement page of THIS forum as well. if you have time to rant about the halloween update and wrote such a big chunk of your feelings towards it, im pretty sure you have time to read about the new features.
Way to generalize! I could say that is typical of another type of person, but then that might be considered naming and shaming.
As for the Announcement page, I never thought to look there. The forums, to me, are unorganized - the "News" and "Announcements" threads. They both seem to serve a similar purpose but never seem to correspond to one another. Thanks for pointing me there though, I'll copy and paste my rant in the comments there.
What happened last year doesn't meant to happen exactly the same way this year. There are a lot of complaints about halloween theme lasting for too long. Looks like they listen to our complainers, and keep in mind not everyone like the Halloween theme.
I hope it will be there when the time is right.
Please refrain from personal attack on the forum.
im not generalizing, this is merely my observation. i could paste you 10 threads of clash players asking for newbie tips when all the stuff they needed to know are already on the stickies. some even went as far as wanting to know where to find/trade saws and axes so they could clear ALL their trees. at level 7. everyone was asking them to slow down and take things easy.
not just the announcement page. on the general forum theres also a sneak peek thread at the top. and on the newspaper in the game, theres also an ad on the sneak peeks which will bring you to the FB page.
New in this update (and unlisted on the app page :D) is a tweak to the town hall list. Now your list has the idle people on top and no more "walking to the grocery" moments. I know some people will be glad but personally I am a little traumatised by having lost a really handy feature whereby I could click on the visitor from the town hall while they were walking and easily control who to serve next. I'll get over it but I will need a week to work out a new strategy and a duvet day to comfort myself. How could you? Just running to the shop for chocolate supplies, brb.
I think the original poster had a valid complaint (whether or not it's a complaint you personally would have) and is being "taken to task" for not reading the update when that has nothing to do with his/her complaint. I read the update, every single word, and I'm still disappointed that the Halloween items weren't made available for purchase with this update. I don't care about the dressed up animals, and since not everyone celebrates Halloween, it makes sense to keep the time down on those to only a few days. But decorating is optional. Making the decorations available for purchase doesn't force anyone to have Halloween decorations up longer than they'd like. And it gives others of us the option to go ahead and decorate (with less than two weeks left before Halloween) if we want to.
Daniel - I would LOVE to have you come over to my farm this morning for a warm coffee drink of your choice, a bit of breakfast, and some scintillating conversation :)
Send me FR and let's chill out together, enjoying the leaves :) :) :) :) :) My GC ID is below
I've posted about it a couple of other places, but I'm disappointed too. I just assumed that when this update went out, I could go buy Halloween decorations. At this rate, I'll have to buy them one day and take them down the next!
And what exactly is wrong with that ? You don't have to read these threads nor do you have to respond to them. That's the beauty of a forum compared to chores you have to do.
That's what a forum is for, discussions asking questions etc. It is not some stuffy static archive to research stuff. Questions can have different answers depending on how people play and the knowledge they accumulate of the game. Apart from the changes made with updates requiring players to change tactics. The game when I was a level 40ish player is completely different from the current level 40s. Therefore don't just assume we know everything because we weren't there.
Remember we were all clueless newbies once and let's cut them some slack especially here on the light side of the forums.
And while we are on the subject of reading, maybe a quick refresher course of the forum rules can't hurt.
Let's get back to the Halloween theme which indeed wasn't included in this update as it was only the fall theme. But I am sure we will see them spooky sheep sometime soon.
Absolutely agree. On my other farm game I have an entire farm dedicated to Halloween! Many of us love the theme. If I had played this game last year id have pulled out all the decos from storage, but this is my first year. I'm completely bummed and disappointed to still be waiting. Makes no sense that we cant even buy items yet.
Am also disappointed that the "update" consists primarily of one more way to race through bee bushes. This just probably means the gift shop will go from being a fav to one more building (like the grocery) I avoid. You KNOW everyone is going to want a dozen candles. Really, really disappointed. :(
But you can leave them up for as long as you want :) Who is to say it is not ALWAYS Halloween on -->YOUR<-- farm? :) If anyone asks you why you have your Halloween stuff still out in November, just say
BOO! bwah ha ha ha :) :) )
We do big arts and vignettes for Veteran's Day. We leave them up WELL PAST 11 Nov. :) It's our farm and it makes us happy
i just think its no point complaining. its indeed late for a halloween theme and yet sc already knows how anxious some of us are given the sheer number of threads talking about it but if they do not want to give it to us still, they must have their reasons.
Well that all depends. SC does listen to suggestions, feedback and constructive critisism. And we are here and already made sure they see these threads with many people requesting the Halloween to be introduced earlier. However sometimes things aren't always possible immediately.
Take last year for example, many complained the Halloween theme was around for too long after the event was over. (Something like 3+ weeks after halloween). Some don't like the animal costumes at all so they listened and learned. The Halloween theme will be around for a shorter period of time this year.
Lots of breaks but still no 👻👻👻🎃🎃🎃🎃
😰😰😰😰😰😰
Maybe they are including new features. Like, the ability to opt out of the holiday themes that so many have asked for.
I love the holiday stuff myself, but I'd be very happy if those who hated it could opt out.
Maybe the update process is getting to labored, and they decided to just do a "Fall" update that they could maintain until December, instead of doing one for Halloween and then another for Fall?
Well, there's your problem. I love Halloween, but I don't want to see it bleed several weeks over into November either. As someone else said, after the 31st it's time to prepare for Thanksgiving.
Problem is, I get the feeling SC has purposely delayed the Halloween content to allow for November bleed over when, IMO, they should have released it earlier in October and cut it off maybe November 3rd or so.
If that's what they're doing, they're cutting the time from the wrong side! I don't want Halloween decorations up much past November 1 at all. At this rate we're going to get them a couple of days before Halloween and keep them through a chunk of November. Or we'll get them a couple of days before Halloween and they'll be gone a day or two later. Either way, :(
Supercell, if you're listening, PLEASE consider making the decorations available asap (now would be great) and bringing down the non-optional decorations (ie, the animal costumes) as soon after 11/1 as possible.
Allow a little clarification about 2 different things: Content update (download via AppStore and PlayStore) and Halloween theme
Last year Halloween theme is part of content update and removed with another content update. Last month we have seen the theme activated without a content update, hence there is no need to plan a content update to follow a particular theme.
Finger crossed we will meet the ghost again.
Ok I've been thinking about why they haven't done the fall & Halloween themes together :confused:
I've come to the conclusion that all the tec people in Helsinki are blokes ( yep you know where I'm going with this ) and we all know that men can only do one thing at a time .... Quite impossible for them to multitask 😜
So there it is ...... Simple wasn't it 😄
I've seen a few posts mentioning their preparation for Thanksgiving.
We haven't had a Thanksgiving theme in HD. What exactly are you referencing?
I was excited to get some decor also. I wonder, will there be any?
I think they mean that in real life, they take down Halloween decorations at the first of November to begin decorating their homes for Thanksgiving. Just a way of saying they don't want to see Halloween decorations up on their farms in mid-November :)
I see. There's a problem.
Thank you Cissy.
Today's update was "Fall Update", and thus no Halloween stuff just yet. :) It will kick in when we are a bit closer to Halloween. Won't require any updates or like, just wait for it to kick in! ;)
Cheers,
Nick
I wish that SC would have released the decorations we could buy. I understand there are some people who don't want the animals dressed up, but if they released the decorations in the store people who didn't like it wouldn't have to buy it. I think if they at least released the decorations where people can buy it would make a lot of people happier. Personally, I will not be purchasing halloween decorations, if they are released a couple days before halloween.
[QUOTE=meonhoc;3029500]There are a lot of complaints about Halloween theme lasting for too long. Looks like they listen to our complainers, and keep in mind not everyone like the Halloween theme.
I hope this is not seriously the reason. There must be many, many more people wanting to celebrate Halloween, and longer, than those who dont like it. Take a look at Disneyland for an indicator .......
.....exactly. It's like going to the drug store to pick up Halloween decorations a couple days before Halloween, they are all on sale. That way, you can put them up for 2 days just to put them away again until next year.
With all the talks on the forums (and the accidental release 3 weeks ago), when the "Sneak Peeks" started, many expected Halloween to come with it. When it didn't happen, a lot are left bummed.
Even with the fall update, many are bummed that only original trees got the fall treatment. All of the other trees bought with coin/vouchers don't change. So, my farm looks not much different with this fall update.
I'm one of the few who's happy that the halloween theme is still not here.
If they just would add an option to disable it if you dont like it, everyone would be happy.
I am happy it's not here yet. Not that I don't like the decorations or the misty fog, I really dislike any costumes on the animals and would gladly go without the rest to not have those.
I too am disappointed with the update. Having to decide between wax and honey per each comb just throws salt on the wound of these bee bushes expiring took quickly.
I have mixed feelings about the missing Halloween decor. On one side I was really looking forward to seeing the fun decorations I could buy up and play with... on the other side I'm content knowing I don't have to buy diamonds today to buy it all up. If we will only have a few days to use the decor I will most likely skip it all together. Maybe sc has so much money they don't need anymore lol. Ah well going to play my other games which already have Halloween events going. :))
Same. I'm still hoping for the wrought iron fence, but I'm not sure I'll bother with anything else now. Not going to spend diamonds on something that'll only be on my farm a few days.
Even if they didn't want to start Halloween "too soon" they could have at least made the decorations purchasable at the beginning of the month.
First, thank you, Hay Day, for separating "fall" from "Halloween"!
In reading through the posts in this thread, I've noticed that there are very few references to the animal costumes. What the farmers who are clamoring for Halloween really want are the decorations. They have been saving their diamonds, vouchers and coins for DECORATIONS! They are ready to spend MONEY!! They would have been adding and adding and adding to their farm decorations all through the month of October. (Frankly, my animals are relieved that they don't have to put on their costumes yet.)
Those of us who have lobbied for Halloween to arrive later (and leave earlier) would have been delighted if our "fall color" arrived earlier at the same time as the Halloween decorations became available for purchase for those who want them. Personally, I'm hoping for some "fall" decorations like cornstalks, bushel baskets of apples, heaps of fall leaves, and piles of non-jack-o-lantern pumpkins that I can buy to decorate my farm until winter.
All that being said, there's no guarantee the same decor will be available next year.
If you want it, buy it. You may not see it again, unless your preference is simply to cut off your nose to spite your face.
I did that last year with 2 games. I bought gems and paid premium prices for Halloween, Christmas, and just about every holiday because I like my game to be pretty and well decorated and most games only offer holiday themed decor during those holidays... anyhow, I bought with those same thoughts of using them this year and let me tell u what... I haven't logged any of those games since the beginning of summer and still have no interest in playing them. I have plenty of games I've spent real money on and lose interest in. I doubt this game will be any different because there will always be someone newer and better.
Thanks for the tip.. but no thanks. Buying decor for a few days use is really silly if that constitutes spending real money. If the decor is low priced I may... maybe at clearance prices lol.
You can always bring the decorations out earlier than SC rolls them out for next year. When you buy limited decorations, they stay stored. So, if you had a hankering for Halloween next March, for example, you can bring everything out and decorate then. :) Or use them creatively in potty forts or other works of art.
One of my neighbors already has her Christmas stuff up. I think she has had it up since September, so there's no reason to hold back and you can keep things up for more than a few days if you'd like.
I used the spooky tree, iron fence and grave for a cemetery in my town right when the town was introduced.
Oh and some items cost diamonds, yes. But others cost coins. Hopefully you can find some nice things to get in the coin department. :)
Helen, you are a hoot. (And probably right, hehe)
one thought has has occured to me. For those of us who were around last year, I remember all the posts that were very much against the Halloween decorations. Some were down right vicious. I, personally, love Halloween and am hoping to add to my collection. Maybe the delay is a concession to all those who so hated it and it will be much shorter.
In the meantime, I can't wait for my candle maker to finish. I have orders in my gift shop already!
Happy Hay Daying everyone!
I like the fall theme but I would have preferred if it came out in Sept and then the Halloween theme now, but only until 1st November as I'm already thinking about christmas. I remember last year and the Halloween theme was still there in November. It really put me off playing until the theme changed. It just was weird to be looking at a spooky farm when I was already feeling all warm and fuzzy thinking of the festive season!
I wonder if there will be a Halloween themed event tonight. I want to win some decorations!
I just visited Greg's farm and he has a special Halloween garden all laid out already!
I would be sulking but his floating chest yielded an axe, as did my own when I returned to my town.
Yes! Pleeez bring on the costumes!
I loved my graveyard and spider trees so much that I never put them away. I made them a permanent part of my farm.
I think it depends on decorations. If u enjoy them, leave them up. It's a game....who cares what others think of your farm decorations?
I saw Christmas trees all summer but it didn't bother me. I just figured the farmer loved his Christmas tree.
We are waiting for Halloween also. Why did they take it off? Are they bringing it back?
Its been autumn for 4 weeks now! This update should have been the Halloween one. They did this last year and it doesn't make sense.
People have Halloween decorations up now, and take them down after Halloween. Supercell will release 1 day or 2 days before, and then run it through Thanksgiving. I don't understand the poor planning on release dates and duration - always late and behind what is normal/reasonable
I agree with you. They keep saying they will release it when the time is right. However, even Greg's farm is decorated, so I think that means the time should be right. I just wish they would release the decorations,so we can at least decorate our farms. I understand some people don't like the animals when they are dressed up. If they just sold decorations, it shouldn't bother people because you can choose whether, or not to buy them. Hopefully they will do it soon though.:)
Many of us feel that Halloween is way overdue!!! Then, it will be with us until Christmas...
Note to Spartan1, who said that maybe the developers don't think the same way as Americans.
Please note that Americans aren't the only nationality playing the game. :-/
Ditto to the others from the US who are complaining that they want to start thinking about Thanksgiving as soon as their Halloween is over.
And the developers aren't American either...
Well, out of curiosity, I did a quick search and found out Halloween (or some version thereof) is celebrated in quite a few countries around the world and that it did not originate in the US. Interestingly, it seems Australia and New Zealand are among some of the last countries to get into it. I also didn't read anywhere about the countries that do celebrate it doing so after November 1st.
All that aside, it doesn't really matter where the developer is located, it matters who their audience is. Many Asian game developers, for example, cater to western audiences by observing their holidays (or some version thereof) as in game events. Since I don't have access to Hay Day player statistics I have no way of knowing what percentage of their players are or are not from Halloween-celebrating countries.
I generally like holiday events of any kind, whether they're from other countries or completely fabricated. I just don't like when they exceed the date of the actual holiday and it seems kind of pointless to me to only have it active in game for a short amount of time, but maybe that's because I'm used to other games typically using a 4-week timeline for their holiday events.
I for one love the fall update. I dont even have Halloween decor out yet in real life. SC will never be able to make everybody happy. For every one that loves an update 2+ will hate it. Cant we just be happy that SC is listening and the keep trying to inprove the game. Ok off to fly on my unicorn, lol:rolleyes:.
Darcelle, my issue wasn't with Halloween (though I wasn't a fan of the theme). My issue was with the assumption that the entire game should fall into line with USA timing.
Well said, Herbladyman!
Taw13, the early release was an accident, and hastily withdrawn :-)
Sadly, poor SC have tried to please everyone but have only succeeded in pleasing no-one. Those who dislike the Halloween season will still have to tolerate it but only for a shorter period maybe, whilst those who love it are having to wait dejectedly for something they enjoy immensely.
To see it all laid out on Greg's farm is a bit like thumbing their noses at us. :(
Totally agree with you on this Madge.
Most of you that know me will be aware that I really don't come on this forum to moan .... There are enough Moaning Myrtle's on here to last me a life time 😜
BUT....... To see Gregs farm all decorated for Halloween this morning has really pi💖💖ed me off . Talk about adding insult to injury !!!!!!!!!!! 😡😡
Unless the the Halloween decorations are actually being released today, I feel this is very insensitive of SC .
I'm now going back to my farm to play with my Xmas decorations ..... As of yesterday, Halloween was cancelled down on my farm...... Christmas has arrived 🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅 . And I have truely spat my dummy out on this one 😜😜😜😜
although I can be quite fickle & will most likely buy some more Halloween decorations..........if they ever arrive 😄😄
Mmm, a maintenance break - maybe someone has listened?👻🎃
Probably to fix frozen bee issue I've been reading here. Last year halloween came out on the 16th,past that now
I didn't want to generalize how others celebrate. If I said they don't think like everybody else in the world, then I would have generalized how you possibly celebrate a holiday. I don't know how you or your nation celebrates a holiday or even if they recognize Halloween as a holiday.
In America, the Halloween decorations come out in the beginning of the month. Right now, almost every store and house that does decorate has been decorated. By now, almost all Halloween decorations are already going on sale in stores to purge inventory because Halloween decor comes down the day after Halloween.
I am well aware Americans are not the only ones who play the game.
I do love reading what other counties do for different seasons & holidays Spartan .
Here in the UK , although the Halloween decorations have been in the shops for a couple of weeks now, we only decorate our houses on the 31st of October. I excell in the mad , frantic rush to get all the decorations up ( inside & outside) before the kids return from school , not forgetting the pumpkin carving , which is normally done the day before. Then its a quick tea before I start with the face painting & getting the kids sorted with their outfits.... For the last few years I've also dressed up & gone trick or treating with them ..... And yes I was a witch 😄😄
Our decorations come down before we go to bed on the 31st Oct ..... And by the 1st November everyone else has taken theirs down .
I think this is one of the reasons why I enjoy the HD decorations a few weeks before the 31st October....it give me time to enjoy them , unlike RL in the UK .... A few hours is just not enough for me .😄
Having Greg's hoarded decor flaunted before our eyes is cold. My FarmWife and I are eager to trick and treat.
It's a game. We do this for fun.
Let's play.
Hi, can anyone tell me when the halloween decorations will be back please? Thanks
Those that can won't. The rest of us can only speculate.
We're on SC's schedule and they've decided it's not time yet. Soon though. They know you're itching to buy.
