Lightning spells on dark elixir storage is a problem

How do you folks keep getting hit so often with zaps? I have had 40k plus in my storage for the last 2 weeks and I am in silver 1. Apparently the do not be in this league with de league and I have been hit once since I was here. Do I look like I need the de so people see my base and think, nope this guy is poor won't touch him. Just don't get how people say they have been hit 10 times in one hour. I keep th inside and still nothing happens.

I haven't been hit for a while, it's a lot better in crystal (3-1)

can we do something about the raiding as well? Everyday players come in with troops and steal my resources, i wouldn't mind if they did it fairly, but they always use dragons and they are too powerful, you should not be able to use dragons cos they are so strong, you should only use wallbreakers, that way i will lose less loot and the game will be more fair for everyone cos i will be happy.

Zapping = 0 skill, waist of Elixir, waist of time, Annoys rest of the farmers.

0 skill like using dragons against lower level players... check
waist of elixir, pretty easy to get elix from farming, has higher elix collector than DE drill... check

waist of time??? lolx with in 2 hours its kinda productive. Just Zap more than they can zap from you, Zap only when necessary farm at least 70% of what you need zap the remaining 30%. June 26 hmmmm 3 days from know ill run another zapping spree to fill up the remaining DE needed for BK and Golem... then read the sig.

I have 70k in gold1 and still don't get hit. Frequent zapping is probably a problem for people with 100k+ in DE storage.

This is a ridiculous reduction to absurdity. There is something you can do to defend against troops attacks. If their troops are too powerful, you CAN build up to make yourself stronger against these more powerful troops. If they attack you with dragons, you CAN build air defenses to protect yourself from dragons. You CAN redesign your base so that it will hold up better against attacks. While it may suck that the "bigger kids" pick on the "little kids" in this game to take their resources, there are things you CAN do to try and combat this. With dark elixir zapping, there is absolutely nothing you can do. You can max out everything on your base and be the most powerful player in the world, and some lazy punk with a new town hall 7 can zap your dark elixir. There is no defense, there is no strategy, there is no recourse. That's not a game, and last I checked, this was supposed to be a game.

P.S. Trying the revenge tactic: All last night, player has an active shield. This morning, player is online. Great, I'll keep tabs on him and hit him back when he logs off. Player is online, so I go make toast. Player is online, so I put an egg in the pan. Player is online, I flip the egg. Village is already under attack, village has an active shield. So my window of opportunity to employ this wonderfully useful strategy is about half the time it takes to flip an egg. Yep, loads of fun trying to pull this one off. Thanks SC! Great strategy game.

There is a tactic of upgrading defenses to defend your loot and it's good.
This tactic doesn't work for protecting DE and that's also good. Why shouldn't we have a different road to upgrade our awesome heroes? Why should it be the same as gold and elixir upgrades?

The point is there is a risk of losing Dark Elixir in the same or similar way to Gold or Elixir, in that you can be attacked and lose resources - why should one specific resource be untouchable - "oh because it's so valuable to myself, so no-one else should have a chance to raid a small portion of it." - I hear you say. No building on your map is 100% defendable against any form of attack - why should that change??? It does not fit with the game mechanics and it is just an exception you wish to implement because of one specific scenario that we all know does not always happen.

I suggest you monitor how many free shields you get over a month and how many times you get zapped keep your screen grabs and let us know your results. What is the ratio of free shields to Zaps and I would be surprised if it is over 15% of the time.

And do you honestly believe supercell will do anything that might reduce people spending GEMs to get the remaining DE for an upgrade, at the end of the day it's all about the $$$ - if your playing freemium style you have to expect and live with inevitable set backs.
