Been to th8 since Nov.11 and I've already maxed out all the defenses. Currently, my one builder is upgrading the barracks to level 10 (2/4 of my barracks are already level 10 and 2 DBs are already maxed). Three of my builders are working on my collectors and the other one is sleeping for walls.
I still have a lot of upgrades in my lab, though and with my estimate, it will take me three months to finish them all. 😳

I'm finally completely maxed defensively. Full skulls. BK is 10. Troops and spells maxed except golem, valk, and goblins. My elixir is overflowing. I'm starting to save for the move to th9. Irushed to th8 and it's been a long grind to catch up, but it's also been fun. Ready for the challenge of th9.

Well I've maxed all my defenses except for the small bombs which each need to go up a level and my walls. I've got one DB that needs to go to level 4. My troops are maxed except for my DE troops and I'd really like to get golems up to level 2 as well as my BK to level 10. It's hard to keep reminding myself to wait to make the jump to TH9 :rolleyes:. I've been running with this Bowser base and it's been doing quite well (thanks to BigC217). I'm worried I'll run out of upgradable things except for walls and then my builders won't be used while I grind for skulls. Any suggestions or tips would be welcomed!

Grind em out, you can practice higher level attacks while you wait...maybe push to masters...Walls should be done throughout your time at a th. You should definitely get them done before 9 though...Just my experience. Life has become easier since I finished them.Quote:

I am making this post because today marks 100 days since I reached Town Hall 8. Since that time I have been able to keep my laboratory researching 24/7 and have never kept it idle more than a couple minutes. In about two weeks I should be finished upgrading the remaining 23 walls, 6 little bombs, 2 skeleton traps, and my last 2 elixir collectors to level 12. Once I max my base completely I will still have around 60 days of lab upgrades left and full gold and elixir storages for the entire time. I have mixed feelings about what I should do so I would love to hear some opinions. On the one hand I really want to max everything before moving on to TH9 because I know it will make the grind easier. On the other hand I really don't want to spend 60 or more days with full storages and not able to upgrade anything or barch (which is my favorite kind of raiding and really the funnest part of the game to me). Since January 18th I have spent 52 million gold on walls alone, so just thinking about the couple hundred million or more gold that I won't be able to spend of upgrades during those last two months at TH8 is just depressing.
What's Your Opinion?
- Should I spend 74 more days at TH8 in order to upgrade all my troops
- If not, what troops should I make sure to upgrade before going to TH9
Been on TH 8 for a while I'm not sure of exact time but it's been a few months. I've managed to max just about everything in the lab except minions and Valkyries, which I don't use, and golems which I use frequently in war but frankly don't feel like waiting on. All the defenses are maxed except mini bombs which are all lvl 4 and one air bomb I believe.

Once my BK finishes his upgrade Im gonna wait to get 40,000 plus de stored for the AQ unless somebody has any other reason they feel I should stick it out a little longer. Lol this wall is beginning to feel like a grind. I have a pretty good plan to have enough gold to build both xbows and get the lab and spell factory under way the day the upgrade finishes.
I think you should upgrade all your normal troops, ie PEKKA, spells etc to max. Dark troops are optional, not necessary imo. But good to upgrade King to 10.Quote:

Currently upgrading my rage spell to 5, and BK to 10.
I plan on definitely upgrading my pekkas to 3, minions to 4, loons and spells to 5, and my golems to 2 before moving on to th9 even if it means my builders will be idle for a while. You def should upgrade all elixir upgrades but all DE ones can wait at th9 de comes by WAY easier and it would be faster to upgrade it that wayQuote:

Rule of thumb that I preach is to keep your builders busy at all times... As long as you have some skull walls you can go to TH9. Then dump excess gold into skulls and excess elixir (you will have a ton of excess elixir at TH9 once camps and initial raiding research are finished) into lego walls.
If you hit these bottlenecks it's always time to move up:
-Idle builders due to finished upgrades
-Idle lab due to max research
-full storages due to walls being maxed or heroes maxed
If any of these happen you are just setting yourself back.
Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to being a TH8. So far, I got all my new buildings to at least level 1, done upgrading my lab and researching my archers, and now testing out a base I made to see how it holds up. My chronological order of my builders would be:
1st builder: Tesla lv 1 --> lv 2 --> lv 3 --> one by one upgrade all three teslas until max level
2nd builder: Wiz Tower lv 1 --> lv 2 --> lv 3 --> lv 4 --> Mortar lv 1 --> lv 2 --> lv 3 --> lv 4 --> lv 5 --> alternate building wiz towers and mortars until max level
3rd builder: AD lv 1 --> lv2 --> lv3 --> lv 4 --> lv 5 --> one by one upgrade all ADs until max level
4th builder: Alternate between elixir and gold storages until they are maxed or max out BK
Build walls/upgrade traps during upgrades of other things
Lab: Archers --> Barbs --> Loons --> Drags --> Rage --> Wiz --> whatever else I need

I wouldn't comment on your builder order, nothing bad about it. But I advise you to do drags before loons in lab and switch your walls around so that the new golden walls are outside while purples inside protecting the core. The outside walls are funnels, so doesn't make sense to use your stronger walls for themQuote:

I'm on my last 9 days of TH8 now. By the time my lab is upgraded at TH9 I will have all of the TH8 research done except for goblins (including all DE research). All of my defense buildings have been maxed for a while now and I'll be well over halfway done with skull walls when I get to TH9. I wanted to finish the walls but it is just too much gold and I don't want to have my research sitting idle at all. I'll keep watching the thread for a while to see if I can give advice at all though.
My Journey as a Th8 almost came to an end. I ll be Th9 in few more days. I have almost maxed everything but
1) Lvl2 valkys. I don't used them.Lvl5 rage in lab.
2) Bombs.I have only lvl4 bombs.
3) Walls. 75 cryogenic walls waiting to be upgraded to skulls.
I dont plan to upgrade them in these two days as I am filling my storages to cap them by the time Th9 is ready.
I have 55k d.e as of now. So I m planning to farm some more d.e and upgrade Her Majesty straight to lvl2 or higher if I have enough d.e.
I ll make sure to have my c.c filled with war loot.
I also stopped collecting resources from collectors so that I can have the maximum resources a th8 can have at a time.

Absolutely agree with ya brah. Lab does elixir upgrades while all ur d.e goes to AQ. If u have lvl10 BK, u can take AQ straight to lvl10 without worrying much abt BK.Quote:

It has been long and fun, but I am moving to TH9. I didn't finish 27 walls because I was gaining a bunch of DE and it would be a waste to let it sit there and be taken by TH9's it was time to get the queen. I have a simple question: Lately I've been floating around the 1500-1600 trophy range, and finding decent loot (150k of each and around 400+ DE)
SO! I guess my question would be, do I drop to Silver 1 or stay in Gold 3/2
I'm currently trying to max out my defenses and teslas, and if you've seen me on this forum before you'll know I rushed my TH7 to get the DE Drill :facepalm: dumb mistake...
My lab progress isn't too bad anymore, I used to have really low level troops, now I'm getting caught up, still really debating on upgrading the Healer & Valkyrie (I have never used either troop, once) My BK is Level 5 at the moment and makes a HUGE difference while BArch-ing

They offer a different flavor to the army than, for example, pekkas. Instead of relying on wizards to kill most stuff, I can bring more valks and have them kill stuff instead. The same doesn't work as well with pekkas (at least it doesn't for me).
The upside is that valks are actually quite resilient, compared to wizards which can die easily to stray defenses, or worst, giant bombs.
The downside is that high level walls can be quite problematic.
Healers I can't live without. She was the first troop I upgraded as a TH8. XD IMO, healer is the witch of the lower levels, it keeps the army going and going.

Man, I tell you it's extremely hard to protect DE. So many hungry TH9s out there, some TH8s too (with lv4 Hogs). They smashed me so hard that I lost 6k DE within 8 hours (guilty of breaking shield). How do you guys manage to protect DE?
Now I'm taking refuge in Bronze (came from G3) as my builders are not free. I'm gonna try sub 200 once my builders are free.
TH8 was so fun, but it's nearly even more loot in TH9. Just pushed to masters as a 3,5 weeks old TH9, so glad I maxed TH8. I find it harder to protect DE as a new TH9 with lvl 2 xbows than a nearly max th8, just saying.. :saywhat:

Finally completed my last 11 walls after 4 hours of constant BAM-ing, whew. Feels good to see these walls. Now, next on the list, Collectors/Mines and Air Sweeper. Then, I'm gonna attempt a push to Masters, we'll see how that goes.
I did a push to masters, the good thing is that you do not need to only attack farmers to get there. You can use three star strategies like hogs, GoWipe and of course mass dragons. When i did it i would 'ride' the shield giving me time to gain resources again after expensive attacks. I used a strong farming base so i never lost more than 10 trophies. Gold would constantly go into walls, Elixir into troops and the same with dark elixir (and a bit of research + heroes rarely). This made me an unattractive base to attack. Don't forget when you get to masters you get some gems so feel free to make the most of the spell factory and do several attacks at once. You do not have to be super active to get their just go on every 12 hours attack, then train an army. I got their then did not go further but i reckon you could probably go even further if you wished, especially with this update so you can see more of your own town hall wherever you are.
Congrats. I just made it to Master's 3 today. I'm sitting on 2609 thropies right now. It was a long process I thought I would never get there. People said barching was the answer but it wasn't for me. I go wipe, hogs the whole time and it worked for me. Now I got to max out my telsa 7 days left I think I got to also upgrade the Valk to Lvl 2. Plus all the walls I have left.. It's bitter sweet once you make it there.. 👌 Congratulations to all TH 8 that make it here.

Everything elixir wise is maxed. Laboratory, barracks, dark barracks army camps etc.
I've currently got max elixir with nothing to do with.
For gold everything is also maxed apart from walls (170 more to go...!) and my air sweeper (level 3)
I'm currently sitting at 2.1m gold , need 300k to get my air sweeper to level 4.
As far as Dark elixir, minions have almost finished upgrading to level 4. Currently I have 27.5k DE.
Once the minions have finished in 3hrs, I will be upgrading Hogs to level 2. My Barbarian King is maxed at level 10.
I use a typical BARCH raid with the majority being archers, around 130 archers and 70 barbs.
However I am struggling for loot down in Silver 1 as I heard it is the place to be.
I need some advice on where some good loot is at, I'm talking about Dark elixir and gold I'm not to worried about Elixir.
I've calculated that I've got at least 54 days until i can begin the upgrade to town hall 9. However this is maxing out everything including Dark elixir upgrades.
Things to do:
Air sweeper -> level 4
170 Walls -> level 8
Hogs -> level 2/3/4
Valkyrie -> level 2
Golem -> level 2
Questions for you guys...
Am I in the right trophy range for BARCH farming gold/DE?
Should I skip some DE upgrades for example Valkyries as I do not use them and don't plan to either?

I definitely farmed Silver I for gold when I was trying to get my upgrades going at TH 7, before going into TH 8, and now I'm climbing into gold. Never had a problem finding easy 150k-200k in Silver I.

Completed in lab: Barch. 5d remaining on level 3 dragons. Plan to do hogs back-to-back when lab is free.
BK: Currently asleep going to 8
DB: both upgrading. One going to 4 and other to 3
My second barracks to 10 will be finished in a day, i'll have two.
40 skulls done (while farming elixir for barracks)
I haven't caught up my other defenses yet. Fourth mortar = lv1:D
First AD going to 6, other two will be going soon as barracks finish.
I opted out of war several days ago, as warring at th8 coming as a max th7 is horrible. I got matched against AD666 alotta times, and having level 2 drags, well...you know how it goes.
The first day I became TH8 and had full dlix storage, a th9 steamrolled me with AQ15 for 1.5 DE. Yesterday, while sitting at 20k DE, another TH9 rolled over me. Lost a total of 3K that day and ******* me off man.

Hello Guys, I had my TH8 just two days ago. My First Priority on any TH level is max defence. However, I started my one barrack and dark barrack on upgrade to give pekka and valki. to my friends.
I have 4 builders and I have distributed work like this: 2 are for defence, 1 is for barracks/lab and 1 is for new construction and other buildings like cc and walls etc.
Well being a new TH will be a bit tough for some days cause we are a regular war clan. and I need to learn new attacking tactics on TH8.
I Will be thankful for any kind of help from more experience players....

That's already a good plan for your builders, though I would at least use 1 more builder on upgrading both of your Dark Barracks as it'll ease on training GoWiXX strats.Quote:

I plan to 100% max every thing besides healer, maybe Valks and Lightning Spell, maybe not all collectors bit those are the lowest priority ever!!!

Valks are optional, though they're actually solid at TH8 as GoWiVa strat and IMO stronger than GoWiPe if used on certain bases. At TH9, I'm sure it all comes down to the base design. The Valkyrie Handbook showcases multiple Valk strats being viable even at different TH levels. I've also had a clan mate who used a Valk combo strat and had nailed even late/maxed TH9s.Quote:

Just a couple of mines and pumps and my Minions to lvl 4 and I'll fulfill maxed TH8. As for constructions, just got valks, gonna start upgrade to get golem after my second drill becomes level 2.
One tesla upgrading to level 4, one AD to 6
Gonna work on teslas and ADs now.
So what I have decided is that I am maxing out my troops (except for Gobs, Healers, and Valks), all my defenses are going to be maxed, my teslas and traps apart from Mini-Bomb level 5 (i think it is), and all my walls are going to 7, once all that has been achieved I'm pressing that button to TH9 and trying to get as many Skulls as I can for 10 days.
IS there anyone here that opposes that? If so give me good reason to not "rush" my base. Keep in mind the only thing rushed will be my walls, they're only going to 7. Currently I have 187 lvl 6 and 38 lvl 7 walls.
Hey guys im really frustrated about this . Im at th 8 and in champ's league, but unfortunately i can't get the loot bonus of 180k and 1.2k d.e. even tho i got stars. How is this even possible please if someone knows.

im close to th9 just valks for the lab, a few walls, teslas (4,5,5) and all ATs, im taking it slowly for a reason...
Just to let everyone know, I AMA level 86 th8 and for anyone who needs it, the absolute best place to farm is silver 2. I have been down there for a while and I almost always have around 5mil of each resource. It is a little tough to get dark elixir, as many of the people this low are th6s or low th7s, but the gold and elixir is absolutely nuts down here. Plus, you almost never get raided.

My TH8 journey lasted ~4 months (coming from a maxed TH7) and tbh I stayed this long because I wanted to test a base of my own design and catch up with some troops but I probably needed to upgrade like 3 weeks ago :P

I just started my upgrade to th9. Maxed everything except valks and have three small bombs to upgrade (1m each). Just want to reach masters so I can buy my fifth builder hut
im on my iPad and can't seem to find the search bar for this thread. Is there a page in here with an updated guide to reach masters?
I've been on TH8 for a year, because I'm lazy. Due to the new updates, I've been in the full swing of COC. Managed to make 2.5 million in gold this weekend. Too many TH9 barchers, so I'm losing a lot as well. Decided on upgrading my cannons to 10 first because its the cheapest.
I'm a couple of weeks into TH8. I've tried searching a bit for some sort of mid-th8 guide but the only things that come up go 'lab-cc-archers, new buildings, etc'. Not really useful to me.
Right now:
- about 30 walls that are pink, the rest purple
- two AD6, one AD5
- new tesla is level 1
- everything at th7 was maxed
- level 5 archers, barbarians, level 2 minions. all other troops are th7 maxed, hogs level 1, BK is level 7
Curious how I should go about the next few upgrades?
I see a lot of people with level 12 elixir collectors and especially level 12 mines at th8. When should I start to fit those in?
Should I try to level up minions or just concentrate on the barbarian king and hogs?

I've been at TH8 for several months (6?) now and I consider myself to be a decently upgraded TH8. As I progress, I've learnt Attack Strategies like GoWiPe for Clan Wars and others.
My Base Status is:
- 225 Level 7 Walls,
- 3 Level 10 Cannons (2 upgrading),
- 5 Level 9 Archer Towers,
- 1 Level 6 Air Defense and 2 Level 5 Air Defense
- 4 Level 6 Mortars
- 2 Level 6 Wizard Tower and 1 Level 5 Wizard Tower
- 3 Level 6 Hidden Teslas
Will post a picture of base later.
My Troops Status:
- Level 5 Barbs, Archers, Goblins, Giants, Wall Breakers, Balloons, Wizards, Lighting Spell, Heal Spell, Rage Spell
- Level 3 Healers, Dragons and Pekkas
- Level 4 Minions and Hog Riders
- Level 1 Golem and Pekka
- Level 8 BK
Right now I'm pushing, but as I go up I'm worried that my loot will be stolen by those OP players, especially when I'm saving up DE to upgrade my BK. Call me weird, but I like to do stuff in a hybrid manner. Another thing is what army composition should I use. I'm GoWiPe-ing my way up (at high Gold 3) but I feel that GoWiPe takes a long time to train, not to mention the spells. And plus, there's a lot of full collectors up there that tempts me *facepalm*:facepalm: so I switch to BARCH sometimes. BUT, most of these loot bases have literally pathetic cups so I can get sniped twice and I'll lose all my cups earned.:rolleyes: So I wanna ask other TH8's opinions on the army comp and yeahhhh. One more thing to ask is how to farm for loot at high cups (if any). T.I.A for the help:smirk::heart:
Hi, all - first post from me as I've just registered.
I'm a pretty maxed TH8 - level 84 and just a few things left to upgrade having been there about 8 months. Currently dithering about whether to pull the trigger on the TH9 upgrade.
I'm in Crystal II, mostly using balloonions which seems to work as long as I choose my targets wisely. Now I have nothing to spend elixir on, I'm experimenting a bit more with a Pekka/archer combo.
Upgrades left:
- Valkyries and Golems - I have the DE for one of those, just need my L3 Pekka upgrade to finish.
- Air sweeper is currently being upgraded to L3
- Two Teslas currently being upgraded to L6 - almost done.
- Walls are 175 L7 / 50 L8
- Bombs still to be upgraded from L4 to L5 - never really been convinced they add a lot of value, they just seem to add to the cost of re-arming after I've had a kicking.
Anyway, I'm going to have some fun with different troop combos for a few weeks then start the upgrade to TH9 and investigate how to get to a sensible level there as quick as I can - feels like it might be quite slow going while I get stronger offensive troops.

For trophy pushing I like to use Loonian, 32 Loons, 20 Minions and 2 Rage 1 Heal for those pesky Wiz Towers sniping your Loons down.
I am currently pushing my way past G1 and I have been swapping between BArch (for loot) and Loonian (for cups), in reality whatever gets you a star is considered a good army comp :cool:

Hello guys(and girls), Araidia reporting in.
Town Hall 8 has been a fun journey so far. There's a lot of loot from the quitters and the collector just keep on getting better. (2.5 million Gold last weekend!)
Town Hall 8 So Far:
All 5 Cannons are Level 10.
All 5 Archer Towers are Level 9.
All Mortars are Level 6.
All Air Defenses are level 5.
All Wizard Towers are level 5.
Two Teslas level 3 and one is upgrading to level 4.
189 of my walls are level 7.
I have noticed that everyone else upgrades their Wizard Towers, AD, and Mortars first, even though cannons are cheaper than the first two.
Anyone know a good farming base?
