I've had pretty good luck around 1600-1800. If I'm not finding anything, I drop some trophies. The key is patience.

I find good collector raids from Silver 1 to Gold 1. Whenever I feel like it's try, I go up/down a league.

Where did you get your DE? I moved down to 1600 trophies. Sometimes they take the DE and sometimes they don't. I can often use/ practice gowipe on any th9 and get DE back GOlem becomes a great asset at th9 but 3 and 4 is where golem gets good. TH8 is a great spot kill any TH7 for easy loot or hit a TH9 for s good DE hit. Patience is ur friend TH9 is harder upgrades are really expensive and max TH8 s like to hit premie th9😏

I wish I could add some input into this thread it seems great but I can't since my parents took my phone, I should probably start focusing on my school so I can get my phone back...

Oh, just to clarify. I only bought gem for the fifth builder. The rest of the gems are rewards from accomplishment, gem box and chopping down trees

I raided and raided like a ♥♥♥♥♥. And finally in three days, i amassed enough DE to upgrade my golems. Im so proud of it xD. especially since it follows my maxed out pekka upgrade :D :D

Less than 24 hours until I finish my journey at TH8. There were a few lab upgrades I didn't get to, but the rest of my base was completely maxed (minus 2 small bombs). Took a little over 3 months because school ate up a bunch of my time.

I'm using a layout that I saw at allclash (with some modifications at traps and to allocate the 4th mortar) and I love it, works like a charm. What do you guys think?
It is consistent, th9 giant attacks (99% of the attacks against me) never steal all three storages, barch can barely hit one of each resource. However, I never been attacked with dragons or hogs, but imo it will hold it very well

it's definitely the best that I've ever made at keeping loot save, here's a tip, put TH outside, barb king inside, DE in the center and a builders hut where the king used to be and you have a nice farming base with the CC radius behind one layer of defenses and walls on each side of the base so unlureable if CC is in core and keeps DE quite safe if you wanna put DE in the middle, although it's still very safe in the side of the core lol :D see my thread : http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...ersion-also%29

Gonna hit TH8 in about 2 days (come on builders work faster!)

I used Mantis for TH7, and Tempest would've been used for TH8 if it weren't for the Halloween update. I'm looking for something that works well with this 4th mortar. We war a lot, so I'd love to have a easy switch between farming and trophy/war base.

Giwipe combo can be used on live th9 base

While hogs combo preferably be used on dead bases as the bombs will normally be triggered already and use the wiz as cleanup crew. Wb is important to help clear a path toward the th in the middle. Else the wiz will just go around the base .

Anyways , a lot of patience is needed to reach masters. I took one week from 1700 trophy to reach there. At some point you'll be exhausted of exilir. So you'll have to alternate between dark troop and elixir troop as de is aplenty in higher leagues.

Keeping your base low on resources helps to avoid Attacks too. But generally at higher crystal two onwards player would be more cautious about attacking you. Sometimes th8 can get wins too over there if the base is strong enough and the attacker messed up.

Anyways, give it another try I guess. You'll need to choose base that u really confident to get at least two stars. Any preferably choose bases with 20 trophy above to Attack. It'll give better yield when two starred.

I maxed out my BK to lvl 10, maxed hogs to lvl 4, minions can wait and am looking to upgrade my Golem soon (60k) D:<, but I'm having a lot of trouble protecting my DE storage. After getting three starred recently, changed the layout, and I defended twice but lost the whole DE amount.

So, is there a base out there that can give me a peaceful heart interms of protection of my DE? Gold storages aren't important anymore, and I want my TH inside walls, seeing as I want a change of not always having a shield when I log into the game.

yeah, brando has done a pretty good job of creating the thread and keeping it going!

any time you get over 30K of DE you're gonna get smashed, because the TH9s can get like 2K from you. no TH8 base is gonna be able to stop that. best bet is to throw your TH outside and hope for the snipe and shield... that, and only break your shield when it's about to run out or you can stay online for a while. if you're wanting to save up DE you can't break shield for one raid and then log off again, especially if your TH is inside, cos you're gonna get hit for your DE

What i learned

• As a TH8, it is MUCH MUCH MUCH easier to trophy push with MASS DRAGS + BALLOONS + MINIONS vs GoWiPe, this is how i was able to breach through master's league
• 2400-2500 range is very DRY with TH snipes, like 1 TH snipe for 2 hours of nexting, but when i reached around 2550 range TH Snipes were like 1 every 30 mins of nexting
• 3 lightning spells with mass drags is a must if you want to ensure a 2-star victory, your goal is to 2-star and you can 2 star almost any middle-tier TH9. It would be next to impossible to 3-star a TH9/TH10 in the Crystal league
• There are NO TH8's, during the past 2 days, except a single TH8 that i encountered. When nexting, around 80% TH10's and the rest are TH9's
• If you have a clan you must ask assistance from your clanmates to give you high level drags or balloons
• Maximize your playing time, dont go idle, the moment you go idle you will be attacked, most likely a revenge, and a revenge costs around 30-60 trophies

• When you do get revenged, ride the whole duration out, rest, eat, sleep, go on with your life for the mean time.
• If you want to gem, gem your rax and spell fac, dont gem the hero and DE raxes
• NEVER EVER TRY TO ATTACK TH10'S WITH INFERNO TOWERS ONLINE. Learn how to look at inferno towers that are OFFLINE
• Most bases have their Xbows pointed to the ground ONLY.
• Before pushing, stock pile with gold and elixir, mass drags is your primary attacking army and it will cost you 360K per attack with spells excluding spells.
• Dont' attack a village if you're UNSURE if you'd get a star

Army and spell compositions i used

• BAM and lightning spells- effective til around 23xx trophies, only good for sniping then zap the DE storage
• Giants + Wizards and heals- i used this when i was at 23xx, susceptible to spring traps, i can only attack premmie TH9's with this. never a 2-star
• GoWiPe and heals- slightly better then Giants + Wizards
• Mass Drags + Balloons + Minions and 3 lightning- can 2 stars TH9's and even TH10s (without Inferno towers), just zap the nearest AD where you're going to deploy your army. THE MOST EFFECTIVE TROOP COMPOSITION FOR TH8 FOR PUSHING.

If you want to get DE and you have the time, try reaching master's league, you will fill your DE storages as you go up and try to go back down. And if you have lots of DE you will only get zapped so might as well be aggressive in getting DE.

Thanks for the advice guys, I will be keeping my TH out again, and will be pushing for master's once I'm done with my exams in December. Well, one super example for the saying 'Attacking is the best form of defense' I guess :D

So my lab finished upgrading, I can't farm enough elixir to upgrade my archers to lvl 5, I've built everything but the tesla, will do it tomorrow, but Im struggling to far, elixir, I'm currently farming at silver 1.

I think have seen a player created utility somewhere on the forum that can actually give you the info about resources/time to complete your TH level but I have no idea where I saw it at now. I too keep a spreadsheet with all of the upgrades I have remaining for my TH level since it is so much easier to figure out what to upgrade next when all the info is in one spot. Mine is on Google Docs so I can access it from home or work easily.

JUST BARCH, TBH level 4 barch is good enough to snag a few storages from a relatively weak TH8 base, but stay in S1 and look for dead bases, recently I am finding a lot of dead bases around 1600-1700 cups but I dont think this cup range is safe for a fresh TH8, GL lol TH9 is a lot more expensive than TH8, troops cost 6mil each with 4.5mil for barbs.
EDIT: WAIT WAIT WAIT, you are fresh TH8? just raid TH7 bases the same way you used to in the past lol, once you get some lv5 troops start raiding TH8s

Ive been using ths base layout for arnd 2 months already and i can confidently say that this base is quite prone to lose resources so u switch resource storages to the front which u least need. Im already structure-wise maxed out and all i need is elixir for pushing so i have my gold storages at the front. This base is quite tricky to attack and is quite resilient to GoWiPe attacks. If ur saving resources and both lix and gold are impt to u then myt as well use another layout. If u want a unique layout with unpredictable traps and attackers getting confused use this.

So I logged out with full gold/elix storages and over 70k DE after my last raids as a TH8. Guess who attacked me? A TH6 sniper LOL!! THANK YOU SO MUCH BRO!!

I had my clan wait to start the next war (we back2back war) until my TH upgrade was at 1 day 23 hours left. This way, I can cash out my CC loot right after my TH finishes, I've spent everything, and win another 700k+ an hour later.

Also, I built 2 rage 1 heal because I plan on upgrading my SF right away and want spells for one of my war attacks.

I am struggling to get DE for Barbarian King, Golem and Valk... I tried Giants, Healer, Wiz, Baloonian, almost everything, but when I get 20+ and they just demolish me and it kinda sucks... I still cannot understand how you will able to get 100+ DE for the troops...
Hogs are level 4, Minions are level2, barb king currently level 7...
Any help would me much appreciated.

For you to go to the Crystal Leagues and TH snipe and get DE league bonus + DE Zap

If you can raid often, I find lots of easy DE raids for 300+ in Gold 2 and up.

At least you've already gotten your BK up to level 10 though. I'm just getting close enough DE to take him to level 7 now. I haven't even really thought about doing any DE research yet.

i believe the key is to raid whenever u can bro. and at the moment maybe u could push up to 1900-2100 range to get more de bases.

i usually do it by using giwipe combo. with two heal and one rage. i'll just find any th9 with more than 2k de and crush in into their middle of the bases. but during those time i already had no use for gold and eli. so all i did was de hunting. if youre over 25k de, make sure u only attack those de storage that has a value over 2k return. else, a th9 can take away 1.8k de max away from u.

Bwando, can you please post your trial of anubis push base? how did it work? did you win a lot of defenses? Should I use it for war?

Maybe I just dont have luck last time when I pushed to Crystal. I was not able to find any collectors filled with DE. Also I have problems deciding how to attack... Giants-Healer-Wiz-WB-ARCH or Ballonian with 3 heals trying to get to the centered DE. Maybe the key is when I have time to be 6 hours online and raid all the time ( I think after 3 hours the game disconnected me) I will try my best in the coming days. I think I will try to upgrade everything except the Valk as I will not use them soon and I belive 2k per day ( only from DE drills ) on Th9 will help a lot.
According to my attacks ( wins ) on this season it appears that I am very active - 385 attacks won :)
Actually I am finding good 1K+ DE in Gold 2 and Gold 1 and maybe I will try to get them 6 hours - 6 raids - at least 6 k dark ... lets hope!

Welp, out of TH8 since yesterday. Will surely miss TH8. Hope you make a bragging thread once you reach TH9!

Me too man - and I must say that I didn't end up spending all of my elixir right away. I saved the lab because I have another half day left on an upgrade and will use my DE drill builder on it after. I went for:

- AQ lvl 1&2
- Spell Factory
- Xbow
- Xbow
- new archer tower, 25 walls lvl 1, gold storage, e storage, traps, new de drill (oops)

I wanted to get all my new buildings by war time, but I won't be able to in the <24 hrs I've been TH9 unless I use gems. Man, my war base looks pretty lol right now. I integrated the new buildings, but I won't completely redo my base until all new buildings are accounted for.

Plan on staying in champ league for a while, but its very hard to farm gold as TH sniping is easy but finding such bases is very hard and time consuming and I can't even think of breaking into TH10 bases not until I have max level troops for TH8, even then it will be very hard. :)
Again any suggestions regarding base and attacking strategy would be appreciated.(I'm not very good with barching). :)

No townhall 8 can stop level 3 dragons from an experienced dragon raider. Best to be thankful that drags are so OP at th8 that most have no clue how to use them.
Same with level 4 hogs, just hope for weak attackers.
Of course, level 8 walls help to deter an attack before it starts, best defense is level 8 walls, level 6 wiz, level 6 mortar and level 10 cannon. They are visual cues that farmers will look for easier prey and increase your chance of th snipes.

Be a good farmer at th8 and enjoy probably the best town hall level in the game. While loot is easy for th7 and th8 has massive upgrades, we get the best army to play with, wizard 5 / dragon 3 / hogs 4 and we can gowipe for fun.

I wish I would have stayed th7 and enjoyed the easy loot but I was a detriment to my clan in war, always overmatched as maxed th7 stronger than rushed th8 but those extra buildings are hard to get 3 on as th7. Once the world figured out that teslas and AirDefenses are the key to war it was over as th7 dragon raiding th8's.

Sure I would want AQ and witches but I intend to fully enjoy th8 at least through this year.

In wars with weak raiders, I usually am 12-18 out of 20-25 and will usually defend drags or giwiz raids till a th9 with 4 spells and drag3 takes the easy cleanup. Against asian dragon loving clans, even dragon 2 can take th8 unless AD 6 and Teslas 5+.

Hello guys, I'm so glad to be part of my fellow TH8-ers. I'm currently at 1200 trophies trying to farm some gold to max out my archer towers and teslas.

Hi to all my fellow TH8ers :)

New to th8, been here around 3 weeks. :) using molt's farming base, so far so good until those level 4 hogs raid me lol. I'm following that TH8 priority upgrade guide, is it really beneficial to prioritize upgrade the DE drill to level 3?

Currently have:

Minions - Dragons L3, Archers and Barbs at L5, Giants 2 days left before L5.
Defense - 3 Mortars at L6 (1 at L5), 1 Wiz at L6 (rest at L4), 2 Tesla's at L3 (1 about to be L2 in hours). Archers and Cannons at L8.
Hero - BK at L5.

I've read that tesla's are great at TH8, should I prioritize them after my Splash or do all Teslas first? Have 4 workers btw.

I would prefer to upgrade splashs first then any other point defenses before teslas, because teslas need longer time to upgrade and more resources compared to the other point defenses

I think it's the best idea to upgrade splashes first as well but I've also been using the "always be tesla-ing" idea from another th8 thread. Basically the teslas take so long to upgrade that I try to have one tesla upgrading at all times. I just started a level 6 tesla this morning but I still have one tesla at level 4 and the third is level 5. I really need to bite the bullet soon and start getting my purple wiz towers soon though.

Dragons are supposed to be powerful and even I, with maxed defenses, still gets 3 starred by them (but rarely. But that time that i got 3 starred was when i fiddled with my traps so it all boils down to base design

As can be seen your new defenses are maxed to th7 level. That is pretty good. I would suggest upping the camps for 200 spaces.
My exact Barching composition is 100 archers level 5, 40 goblins, 40 barbs, 10 wall breakers. Keeping a larger amount of wallbreakers allows me to take on a few storage raids every once in a while.
If you further wish to take on storage raids without using barching, I would suggest go for GiWiHe strat against maxed or semi maxed th7s. Lower th8s will also work.

Farm for your lvl 5 king in silver 1 as fast as possible, fill 2 barracks with barbs and 2 with archers. It's as simple as that.

After I'm done with the upgrades I pointed out I'll be going to TH9 wee :D

I have been using Barch for a long time, nd let me tell you, it is a very versatile technique.

Firstly, I would suggest upgrading your archers and Barbs to level 5 asap. Then your Barch becomes much more powerful. Then, the composition what I use is 100 of each, barbs and archers. I use my barb king as a tank. you should know how to barch in the first place. Then it becomes much easier. Spamming and spreading is a learned technique, and required art. You can use a few giants to tank as well. I don't as my Barb King is enough. You can use Lightning spells to remove mortars and enter bases.

With this,i have stolen nearly 25 million in two and half weeks lately ( of each resource) and about 75k DE as well. Just search and learn barching from youtube. Also, the best place for you would be High silver 1 to gold 3.

Also guys I'm having a hard time saving up. How do you guys do it?
Whenever I reach 1mil+ either gold or elixir or 10k+ de I get raided by th+1. Any Solutions to that? Also I can't drop as I'm going for de in the crystal/gold 1 league.

I'm sitting at 6m gold and 3m elix ang 76k de at crystal 2. I've been raided by a th9 once but the rest are just pushers sniping my th.

As suggested put ur TH outside and hope that someone snipes it. Then when u get a shield ride the duration of it.

Graduated after maxing walls and defenses. Had a few de lab things left. Now having fun at TH9 with the Archer Queen (imo increases farming rate by 50%) and lvl 6 barch.

EDIT: I'm happy. Just got sniped before bed. Currently at 6m Elixir and 3.6m Gold, as well as 78k DE.

Got pretty much all elixir upgrades now done, only thing left is pekka 3 and de upgrades. But I will use the elixir now for walls and leave the pekka upgrade until then

My th is outside though th+1's rarely snipe it. Mostly smaller ones do. But the duration between army training is when i mostly get th+1.

Almost maxed out TH8, soon ill be going for master (for gems) and ill have 5th hut. :rolleyes:

Just maxed out buildings that require gold so I'll be upgrading all my traps now. Traps should only take 3-4 days, then all my gold is going into walls while I finish my elixir buildings/lab.

hey guys, im a th8, everything's maxed out except for teslas, which are two lvl 5 and one lvl 4.
my walls are 120 black walls & the rest deep purple.

I do wonder thou - should I max out my walls before th9? i mean, that's what i thought for now. 120 black walls is crazy hard to get. but it's so much work.. every 2 \ 3 raids you get 1 \ 2 walls. crazy.
