So how are things lately?

I'm a level 72 and 35 days have passed since I hit TH8, in case you're asking how was i able to know, just add the TH8 upgrades that you have researched in your lab + 5 days (assuming that you immediately upgraded your lab).

Currently trying to upgrade my defenses and walls and im expected to stay at TH8 for another 2-3 months, depending if supercell suddenly gives another 1-gem-bonus-week

I'm currently farming at Gold 2, boosting raxes and attacking non-stop gives me around 2.5M gold, though i dont know if this is high (or low) when it comes to fellow TH8'ers.

As of this writing these are my stats

• Gold Grab: 192871524
• Elixir Escapade: 167201970
• Heroic Heist: 110428
• Max trophies: 2038

During clan wars, my usual army consists of Giants + Wallbreakers + wizards, but it seems to lack the necessary punch to puncture through fellow TH8'ers, sometimes, i cant even 3-star maxx'ed-out TH7s, that is why im researching drags.

Some questions to fire up the discussion

Hello. My name is 'Snarg' and I am a fairly recent TH8. I took the time to fully max out TH7 before I moved on. I can see how it shortens what looks like an already lengthy upgrade process. Every time I think about what I still have left to do, it makes me a little sick to my stomach.

Ah well, I swore I would not spend money so I guess I am in it for the long haul.

did anyone get a crack at the golden hour after maintenance? i scored 5mil each of both gold and elixir in 1.5hrs! boosted two barracks for goblins and went crazy. pretty fun!

Hello guys,
I did the upgrade to TH8 about 2 months ago. I'm playing for about 5 - 6 months, a friend convinced me to try it and I must admit, I realy like the game a lot. :D
I bought the 4th and 5th builder and I use the gems I find to boost my barracks.


My Stats:


GG: 305 M
EE: 245 M
HH: 191 K


I am going to upgrade my TH as soon as I have maxed my entire defense.

why would they delete the whole thread .. they could have delete the post and ban the user!:mad:

I was kind of irritated that it was deleted over one poster. One minute I was reading a post about my upgraded base, and then next, the whole thing was gone. I'm so glad it's back.. Now for my upgraded pictures. I can't remember who was giving me feedback, but anything is appreciated on what to work on next! I have maxed Wizard Towers, and soon-to-be Mortars and Air Defense - as well as maxed troops listed, and Rage 5.

Am I on the right track?

I agree, it was totally overkill to have deleted the whole thread because of one poster and his offending post.

I been a town hall 8 for 22 days. I just started my dragon upgrade to level 3 today also. In war I do 20 archers and 8 dragons and three star every TH7 and that was with level one dragons. I just upgraded them up two levels in two weeks.

So you seem to be doing pretty well but you can try to hasten things a little bit but of course that will all boil down to your schedule. You still have a lot of walls to upgrade and with that im thinking of a minimum of 2 months for that :D

d11 of Scared Ninjas, Day 43 in TH8, close to 3months in the game. (I've rushed, just recovering)

My current base: Did not bother changing this one, since i'll upgrade TH sooner than later.

Am unsure what to upgrade next. Rage+ Balloons, or Rage+Giants (To prep for TH9 lvl 6 loonian or giant). Or to up the dragons for donations.

Not finding decent loot either, infact.. not finding any loot at all.

Id go for the giants for they have more use.

Try silver 1 for loot :)

Hey, cool thread and welcome back! I'm towards the end of TH8 with maxed defenses, bombs & gbombs 1 lvl away, and collectors in poor shape. I'm exactly 2/3 of the way done with walls. I plan on upgrading to TH9 when everything except for my lab is done. So I've still got 2-3 weeks to go since I neglected my collectors for so long.

Since starting Clash in May, I have been in a clan with friends and friends of friends only. However due to low participation in war, I am thinking about finding another adult clan. I'm tired of dumping 50-75 wizards filling war CCs and then seeing them not topped off and also attacks not being used.

shoot me a PM if you're interested in joining a family friendly clan that's pretty active, very donate-happy, and wars at least once a week.

i am still th8 but my builder already upgrade it to th9. yes I know it is really a premature base.

i still have a few defenses (cannons and archers towers to go). and the dark barracks lab upgrade.
hopefully my decision to go up early would not be so bad.

and i will say i will stay at th9 a little bit longer than usual (around half a year) to finish everything i left.

Been there (it's my current home since the loot went bad), got maybe a couple mill, but took time. Farmed a few mill later, but sucked my life out to do it.

When i need an important upgrade like Hogs/L6Wiz Tower, am online till i get it. Since most of my work is from home.. Otherwise it's just one/two hours farming till i refill some elixir, and am donating troops all day long, under the shield.


Right now am just eager to finish off walls since i know it's gonna be hard multitasking in TH9 .. but..(same old whining continues).

I like crystal 3 for de. My bk is 10, hogs4, minions 4. 3weeks to th9 after 5 builders going 24/7. Will be fully maxed (minus a few troop upgrades and some walls maybe).

Barch + rage is awesome. Have a handful of WB, hogs and minions which helps break through to core to de storage. Learn to barch well and the loot flows freely. Stick to bases where you will get 700+ de or 200k+ combined g/x. Try get 50% to stay in the league.

Hi! I'm lvl 66 th8, been here for 32 days and yes, i rushed as soon as my th7 splash defenses got upgraded. In game name, 'Lord pulmon' in 'kidu clan', cant post my screenshots here as it is not supported from my device (duh:(:().
My only regret on rushing, is not completing my troop upgrades completely, now my barch, wiz n giants r the only maxed ones. Our clan war everyother day, ( btw, we r good, 31W, 3L:cool:) n my lvl2 drags n lvl 3rages r good enough to 3 star mid range th8s n rushed th9s.
And about this loot drought i can't actually understand what most of you guys are complaining about! Get ur army comp, trophy range, n base selection right. I ve been in gold 2 for sometime, n barch with 8 wbs in reserve, my bk is lvl4 only n boosting him is what my gems are for. When it comes to base selection, i try to 50% any th8 or 7 withatleast 150k combined g+x, in collectors n mines mainly. In between my raids i go th sniping to keep my trophies around 1650, which i find to be most profitable.
I plan on maxing out my th8 b4 moving on, so 3 months?!, i'm guessing. Feel free to checkout my base, n anyone war hungry come join our clan. Keep clashing n uprate this thread guys:p. Peace out!

I am hoping to achieve full skulls in a month, but the past couple of days I have had some terrible luck on finding decent raids with at least 200k combined resources inside the collectors.

Max skulls in one month? Hmmm... that would be very challenging IMHO especially that you can now dump elixir into walls.

Anyway, here's the loot at around 1750 to 1820 trophies. It's between high trophy GOLD II and low trophy GOLD I league. Barch all the way yesterday around 2 to 2 and a half hours between 2 PM to 5:00 PM, my time.

I agree with Barching in the Gold regions. Loot is good!

My TH8 is almost maxed, the only thing I need to upgrade is 2 Tesla’s to lvl 6, Dark Elixir tank to lvl4 and 110 walls to lvl8. BK is at lvl7 and research wise I still have the rage spell and PEKKA to upgrade but I hardly use them.

Got a farming base going btw.

It is 238 am here and im eating in a local Shakey's branch and the on site manager is playing CoC :rolleyes:

This is my base. I started Townhall 8 last August 22, 2014. I also started playing CoC last April 5, 2014. I always MAX out my bases, including troop max upgrades, before moving on. I don't mind the idle builders because I like to enjoy playing my maxed bases.

My Teslas/Air Defenses/Wizard Towers and Mortars all all MAXED OUT. I'm now in the process of upgrading my Archer Towers and will upgrade my Cannons for last.

I prioritized my Level 3 Dragons for WAR purposes, then Level 5 Archers/Barbarian for FARMING, Level 5 Wizards/Giants for DONATIONS, and now I'm building Level 4 Hog Riders/Level 2 Golems/Level 3 PEKKAs for more WAR strength. After that, I'll max out all my spells and then the rest of my lab upgrades.

What's up everyone? In one hour my level 10 barb king will be done and I'm only a couple of dozen skulls away from being a max TH8.

Mad props to this thread, love reading about other TH8s and this was one of the threads that helped push me to finally create a supercell forum account... and here I am.

Mostly Gold III for me, but now pushing to Crystal III for DE.

Go to crystal 2-3. You might get encountered unattended th9 with full drills. 50-100 de bonus is also a plus too. Also just get your bk to 10 and you are ready to go.

I'm floating between Gold III and Gold II but I'm not having any issue with grabbing dark.

What exactly is your problem? It could just be your army composition.

I am a well upgraded th8. With several years of experience (other accounts) and am currently lvl 85. My GG is 17 mill and my EE is 17m as well. My war hero is 171 and my trophy record is 2441.

Seeing you need to upgrade hogs, i recomend pushing to gold 1- crystal 3. When i was farming for hogs lvl 4, i went up there and rushed the DE storages and full drills. You could use Bam for a fast & cheap army, or use giant-wizard to do heavier attacks.

Stick to barch.

Here are four huge tips:

1. Have your dark storage, clan castle, and barb king in the middle of your base. (PROTECT)
2. That next button if your best friend until you find a good base to attack. (NEXTING)
3. Look for TH9 and TH10 with full dark elixir drills. (LURK)
4. Cook up some lightning spells and zap away. (ZAP)

Yes.

I recommend any base with barb king, clan castle, and dark storage in the middle of the base ;).

i found i needed something more than barch for DE, cos i wasn't finding enough on the edges. i usually ended up running barch or bam with a few wallbreakers and 20-30 goblins thrown in so i could get into slightly deeper storages.

at the moment i'm trying loons for DE farming... costs DE to build the minions, but i'm getting to DE that's a lot deeper than I usually good, so it's kinda balancing out.

i'm around 1600 trophies atm...

... I use 24 Level 5 Wizards, 16 Level 5 Giants, 12 Level 4 Wallbreakers, a Level 10 Barbarian King, 2 Level 4 Heal Spells and 1 Level 4 Rage Spell when hunting for DE around Gold II and I league. I haven't had any issues so far.

... for Gold and Elixir... it's BARCH all the way.

Pekkas going to lvl3 in a couple hours and my teslas are almost done. Working on lvl2 golems.

My time as a TH8'er is almost over. I have upgraded another few things since the last time I posted and my BK is now lvl 9. I guess I'm going to start the upgrade to TH9 in about 2 weeks. :)

I have also changed my base design and I would like to hear your feedback. I am really happy with the base so far, I will post logs in a few days. :>

I am now wondering what to do. I'm not finding the best loot and need lots of it! I'm just farming some walls right now and soon gonna push to get some de. All 6 bombs to 5

The lab is gonna take the longest...I still need lightning & heal spells to 5, gobs & loons to 5, Healer to 3

my minions and hogs are at Lvl 2, valks and golem at 1

AQ, spell factory, camps, lab would be my priorities for offensive, and x-bows for defense. that and upgrade all the new stuff to TH8 levels before adding upgrading anything higher.

....that said, you're probably better off asking in the TH9 thread, lol.

How effective is balloonion at th8? I'm asking because I have a lot of lab upgrades to do and I'm thinking of doing my loons to level 5 so that I could use the strategy. I want to know if I should prioritize them over, say, level 2 pekkas or level 5 spells.

Fun timing, I started pushing a couple days ago. Got to 2400 easily with BAM 50%'s and snipes, continued to 2500 with BAM and a couple dragon attacks (getting to 2500 is difficult though), and now I'm stalling at around 2540. After 2500 everything is a struggle, and I'm training Dragons and minions - full army is 8 dragons 20 minions (30 min quicker than 10 dragons, plus I snipe any THs I see with minions). I love GoWiPe but it takes longer to train and spells are more necessary.

I just upgraded to golem 2 an hr ago and was planning to push to masters and champ league but i saw the sneak peek with TH8 having 2 skeleton traps and upgradeable to lvl 2... so i guess i have to delay my push and max it out too :p

almost maxed TH8 after Golem 2 finishes I will go to TH9

This base has done well for me. I might lose some loot but rarely all of it...unfortunately a TH9 will get you if he/she attacks right esp a leveled up AQAttachment 71040

ah lame... that's a bummer.

seems anyone can get to masters/champs if they have enough time, it's all about TH sniping and spending hours (and heaps of gold) nexting. loonion or mass drags also works if you've got the resources for it, or barch for the 50% on small villiages

i'm using loons heaps, and i did them before pekka or spells. they're a bit heavy on elixir, but good for getting to storages. def max loons and get minions up too... it's a fun way to raid

well, my username has "Bwandowando" not "Brando" :P

anyway, i just boosted last night, and lo-and-behold, i got around 4.5M gold and around that elixir amount too! The most i had in a non-special week farming. I boosted in preparation for the upcoming skeleton trap building, which, i didnt know how much will cost to build and upgrade. But watching the vid, it's 6K lvl 1, 60K upgade to lvl 2.

I'm too lazy to post a screenshot of my base, but I have about 1 month till I max out my lab and buildings. Not going to upgrade Valks/Golems, and I'm still working on level 7 walls, so once I'm done with my buildings/lab I'll work on skulls until I get bored.

I have finished maxing my BK and Walls

4th mortar has the potential to be game changing... i can understand the need to balance gowipe and gowiwi, but it's gonna be a killer on farming for those of us who like cheap and efficient barch/bam raids. it kinda makes sense to balance lvl7 barb/arch upgrade (TH10 only), but makes it heaps harder for TH7/8 farmers. i think they should've added it to TH9 instead..

ahh well, see how it goes eh? might make defence against TH9 a bit more of a possibility

definitely gonna change base layouts! every base design online right now is redundant for TH8-10. maybe not a huge deal, but could lead to some interesting designs
