Should I FULLY upgrade before TH8, I mean fully? Really?

I keep hearing that TH7 is better for raiding for gold and elixir than TH8.
So fine. I'm almost done with all my gold/elixir upgrades. My walls are almost done.
I'll even fill up my storages before I make the leap so I've got some spending money when I get access to new stuff.

But,
Dark Stuff, really?:confused:

Getting a fully upgraded Barb King plus Minions and Hogs will cost me around 100k in dark elixer.

That's a lot.

Is there an advantage to raiding for Dark Junk from TH7?
Or should I go ahead and make the jump up to 8 and use a slightly better army (plus a drill) to earn my Dark Junk upgrades?

I'd upgrade the BK to level 5 for sure. The other dark stuff i did it but i didnt need them at TH 8. Up to you. EDIT, why upgrade the BK, "IRON FIST" wwwwwwwwhhhhhhhaag!!! Iron Fist isn't available until level five, and its a great ability.

Structure-wise, i have only 2 Dark Raxes left and collectors

Lab-wise though, i still have all DE troops, and some spells to go, but i intend to really max out my base including lab researches because during the next few months i wont be able to play much so staying put in TH8 wont stress me out and wont require me to grind the game.

Maybe you can just try it out for the mean time then as you go along you'd know if you can do it or not

I did! Currently I'm TH 9 but before at eight I upgraded everything except Valks (my BK is 10). At TH 7 I upgraded everything possible. I did my regular TH 7 farming at high 1300s using barch. When i was near max I went to 1500 cups because thats where the DE starts to show up. I used dragons to raid for the DE and also used some lightning spells. EDIT: you can see my base if you'd like. Im in Catholic Crew. I just started TH 9 yesterday though so its basically a max TH 8.

"Try it out" meaning give TH8 a try. or give raiding for DE a try?
I can get 100k in DE eventually. It'll just take a long dang time.

I'm just not sure if there is much advantage to waiting on the TH upgrade.

I didn't upgrade my king or de troops at TH7 because it took too long. Go to TH8. You get stronger troops and a drill to help you out.

I mean it.

I moved up to TH8 before just a FEW of my upgrades were finished and OMG, I think I might be TH8 for the next century now because of it. Upgrades are freaking expensive. Stay at TH7, stay at a slightly lower league lvl. Enjoy it while you can.

Also: they say your TH doesnt effect matchup in wars, but ultimately it does. Because when you hit TH8, instead of finishing your upgrades you missed at TH7, you inevitably go for the new available defenses. New defensive structures will effect your war matchup. So there you will sit, a TH8 with more defenses, but fewer upgraded than you should have.

Avoid the temptation, stay at TH7. Finish your upgrades.

Nah. I would get my burger king at a th 7. But I would not upgrade it unless I had some spare de. Dem hunting is not for th 7 and I'd advise wait till th 8

Cause th 7 de is really hard to get and when you th8 it so easy like you dont even want it
