Supercell, you are going the wrong way

What a load of ♥♥! You farmers think too much of yourselves. I don't claim to know what SC had in mind when they started the game but I like to believe (as I believed when I started) that SC intended this to be a competitive war game with people fighting to win. You farmers have had it your way for too long, ♥♥♥♥♥ing your way to the bottom of the pile to kill easy targets just so that you can pretend that you could really climb to the top and stay at the top if you could only just get moar walls and upgrades from the easy pickings. Newsflash, it's not that easy anymore! So why don't you try to be competitive for awhile, too busy being spoonfed the slop down there? You want me to chew that for you son? For the first time in a long time this game actually feels like it's worth winning rather than trying to build a nice pretty little city with minimum competitiveness.
Please SC keep it going this way, although the farmers may be more voracious on the forums (as most people that demand everything for free in society tend to be) there are a lot of players that are enjoying the challenge. If a small donation is required every now and again to keep up then so be it.
One final note: Farming is definitely NOT keeping the game going, if everyone had been playing for free SC would not have continued updating the game (for better or worse) and there would be a lot less publicity, enthusiasm for the game and in turn a much smaller player base. Hate on, I'm off to challenge myself and TRY to kill people on my war game, your QQ doesn't count =]

hmm if only being at the top cost a small donation to supercell. Perhaps you do not realize the cost involved...This game has little strategy and rewards the people willing to pay. Gemming attacks is fun, I mean really fun, just it costs a lot. Hundreds of dollars a month, for a game is not fun to me. Why get mad at people for wanting a fun and free game. Most farmers have spent some money on the game, so while you talk about enjoying the challenge etc. some would rather upgrade things sometime this century without spending a months pay. I recently started to farm dropping from 3200 cups, my base is maxxed except new upgrades, walls and heroes. At higher cup levels it is impossible to upgrade things, let alone get enough resources to raid. How does that make sense? Want to kill farming: make loot bonuses for attacking th 9 with more cups. If there was more resources available, I would gem my way back up to 3000 cups right now. However, there is not. It is harder to take resources from upgraded bases, so why would I do that when I can attack easy bases for the same amount of loot?

Hello Archaon, I understand the cost of course I do, as my iTunes account shows. But you misunderstand my play style. I work a lot so I don't tend to gem troop building, I have no problem with gemming resources, build times and new toys though. I think the costs are excessive and increasing with every update but I don't complain or whine on the forums about it I just don't spend over what I consider reasonable. I think this is pretty much the same for the majority of people that purchase gems (maybe not the same reasons but with the same limits of spending). Anyone that overspends has only themselves to blame and shouldn't complain about it. In comparison to the people that want everything spoonfed to them they are a minority. I just can't understand why people think that the game is enjoyable or competitive by losing intentionally and spoiling newer player's games. So they want their town looking pretty sometime this century, why? What's the point if they jut want to say "hey look at how maxxed my base is. I don't do anything with it apart from smash new player bases though!" It's all about peen over pixels instead of competitive FAIR fun. It's a part and parcel of life, people should challenge themselves instead of playing heavyweight boxer v welterweight.

I like the way SC have reintroduced that feeling of competitiveness, if someone has too much time on their hands and aren't gaining the rewards they deserve then maybe they should try harder instead of whining and crying for handouts.

I'm sorry, I couldn't understand what point you were trying to make under all your vitriol. It sounded like want Supercell to make it so players had to pay ("required donations) to advance just because that's something farmers wouldn't like that, but that.. really stupid.. So I don't think that's right.

People saying the update was about making it easier for starting players are ignoring most of what has been said on the forums recently. The lowered percentage that could be stolen from storage is only a small part of the loot reduction, mostly it came from making inactive accounts many times less common to find when searching. The result is that active low level players are getting hit a lot harder and have a lot harder time finding targets to make it up on. That is the exact opposite of what it was supposed to be about.

I play CoC for only one reason, it is a combat based game where when you defeat someone they actually feel it. If there are no stakes on the table you might as well play farmville. As for someone complaining about getting hit repeatedly as soon as they log off, I have to wonder just where they are getting enough resources that they have enough to prompt four attacks one after the other after they have done any spending they could do while online. And how it would even be possible to build your base so badly that people can easily take all your resources without even doing 40% damage.

The game took a bad turn with the introduction of DE. As most agree it was a complete money grab. Not enough drills with the production times they allow. Max drill lvl 3 for TH8 and you only get one????? This should be obvious to all...supercell wants you at TH9 no matter what. Smart non gemming or semi gemming players suck it up and stick with the plan. Unfortunately the plan is forcing you to gem....and the writing is on the wall. Hence the drop from the #1 spot.

It's obvious the majority of money spent came from normal players not the gemmers. The fall from the #1 spot on iTunes tells you that.

Until supercell can find the balance the game will continue to drop. Every update including DE update has been a step backwards for the majority of players.

Vitriol, I like that. It's justified but hey I don't like farmers that take cheap shots at low level players knowing full well that there will be no payback. I see it as a form of online bullying that dissuades new players from sticking around and having fun. The game is a pay by choice game so no I don't think farmers should be forced to pay, I also think that they shouldn't be allowed to have free rein at ruining every newer or weaker player just so that they can look at a pretty town with high level troops that are never put to good use. I tried farming once but when it occurred to me how the lower level players on the receiving end of my attacks must feel my conscience wouldn't allow me to continue. I'm not forcing my morals onto anyone else (although if you look at society this has been going on for years for the betterment of mankind and the human race as a whole) but I'm entitled to my opinion and my opinion I will state, like it or lump it. My main point was that farmers are ruining the game for the majority of players and SC have taken steps to stop that. You all had your exploitative run but now the game is up, adapt and quit whining. As you farmers love to quote: Find your natural trophy level and things will be easy enough. Well now you can! It'll just be higher than where you're all hiding at the moment while taking candy from the babies =]

You sir have it 100% correct in my opinion. You can bet that around half of those inactive players that were removed left the game because they never had a fair shot at standing a chance due to the higher level farmers abusing the matchmaking system. +1

@ Deathknell, I was under the impression I was disagreeing with you when I wrote that. Without farming inactive accounts and people who are offline longer than their collectors would store anyways players would be limited to an average income of no more than their collectors can produce unless they were willing to gem resources, which would be pretty boring. Sure the better players would come out ahead, but it would really be hard on the less experienced, and as they quit it would soon come down to only the pros. I saw that happen on another game I used to play that no longer exists.

I was willing to pay for my fourth and fifth builders, and if I was the sort of person who spent lots on games I might be willing to gem upgrade and build times on occasion, but no way would I ever gem resources, and the game would just get boring if I couldn't get enough resources otherwise to keep my builders going. I suspect a lot of people feel the same way, and if the farmers weren't constantly bringing in loot from inactive players and shifting it upwards as they raid each other I think CoC would rapidly lose both player base and income. That's my two cents worth.

I look forward to seeing your base, which is built by using trophy instead of resources since you don't farm, on my daily raids.

Oh, and just so you know, farmers are more than capable of taking on any high level village with top tier troops. In fact, our constant search for resources in collectors or storages had made us so attentive to detail that ripping a base a part would be child's play.

If we can ignore the isolated TH and 39% the hell out of a village while walking away with 200k/200k, you can be sure that flattening bases with pekkas and wizards would be a walk in a park.

Also, trophy chasing is not a full measure of skill as the result is mostly contributed by how long one can stay online, and how fast one can gem his troops, as displayed by Jorge Yao.

I am curious as to what you consider a "lower level player" who is quitting the game because of farming. Is it under th6? Because if that is the case, then they are not being attacked by farmers anyway, due to the loot penalty. Meanwhile, while th7 may be farmed, it is generally considered the best th level to get loot.

Regardless, I'm fine with those people quitting. I went from level 1 to 85 without gemming, and I was farmed a lot, but all it took to advance was hard work and perseverance. Someone wants to quit because the game is too hard? Fine, they can. But they better not complain because I didn't quit, and now I can destroy their base when I attack them.
