Gargoyle troop idea with interesting mechanics
I know gargoyles have been an idea already suggested, but I have come up with some interesting mechanics to go along with it, and this post is mainly about those mechanics, not the gargoyle.
When you place the gargoyle, It targets the closest defensive structure behind a wall, and stops and perches on the wall. The gargoyle will then spread its wings and turn to stone and intercepts any projectile (Except mortars cause that wouldn't make sense) and take the damage as well as do that damage to the wall its perched on. (maybe not enough to completely destroy the wall but enough to make troops prefer that wall over healthier walls). When the wall its standing on is broken or the defense has been destroyed it will re-target to the next nearest defense behind a wall.
If the gargoyle is defending from a clan castle, It will perch on a wall and add more health to that wall instead (or attacks will damage the gargoyle before the wall). If the troop it targeted dies then it will re-target just like it does with defensive structures (making luring possible).
Now something I have been wondering is if it perches, should It then become a ground unit? or should it be given enough health to take air defense blows?
Also, what happens if It cant perch on a wall? or if there are no defenses? Perhaps it could just land in front of a structure and start attacking it with low damage. That might apply to luring the troop from a clan castle too.
What do you guys think of these mechanics? too weak? too strong? How much troop space would it take up and how much health should it have? What would you change? Thank you for reading.
