I think it would be cool if we could boost our defense units with gems. Similar to the cost, duration and increased performance of boosting barracks and resources.
I read through all the stickies and haven't seen this idea discussed yet, but it was a lot so I apologize if it needs to be deleted.

I'm not a big fan of this idea. The difference with boosting defensive structures and, let's say barracks, is that barracks have no influence IN COMBAT, while defensive structures do. Therefore, it doesn't make sense for a gemmer to have an advantage that a non-gemmer could never get.
Anyway, it is good to see that you have made sure to check the stickies before posting, and that this post wasn't something like "i think we should be able to donate resources".
This game doesn't need any more pay to win aspects than it already has.
instead of boosting with gems or even any materials, what if the tower regenerated hp on its own, like a selvish tower (play on words between selfish and elvish) it could deal like 5 dos, have an attack speed f 3 seconds, range of 6 tiles, health of 1500 at level 1, seems like it might be likable, it can also be replenished with gold OR elixir (not sure if replenishment is necessary...)
