donating resources to clan members

It would be nice if you could share resources with each other. for example sometimes I am 1000 gold short of an upgrade it would be nice to ask my clan mates to donate toward my research of something or possibly just donate gold outright.

the way to keep this balanced is to either limit how much gold you can get/give in a day or month. the other thing is, like i said earlier, ask to help donate/pledge money to upgrade or research things.

this would be a great recruiting tool for clans and it would be another way to help new player upgrade faster (because sometimes its slow.

Sharing resources has been ruled out for may very good reasons. I however would like to be able to raid the caravan's that are transporting your resources. If I could steal it in transit I wouldn't have to raid your village.

it is slow BY DESIGN. How do you combat the slowness? You buy gems.

If clan members can donate resources to their clanmates, there is less of a reason buy gems.

If less people buy gems, then SC makes less money.

If SC makes less money, we get crappier and less frequent updates and new content.

If we get less frequent updates and new content, people stop playing the game.

If people stop playing the game, it becomes boring and the CoC communities dies.

If the CoC community dies, we have to find a new game to play.

I don't want to find a new game to play after investing a year and a half into this one. Do you?

Sure, one such game is World of Warcraft. You can give gold to whoever you want, and it works for this game. You know why? Because they have a monthly subscription fee. You have to pay $xx.xx per month to play the game, so since they are guaranteed to make this money from you, they don't care HOW you spend your gold.

Unlike WoW, Clash of Clans is a "freemium" game in which donating resources and gems adversely affects the profits of Supercell (for reasons I mentioned in my first post above).

If Supercell didn't think this would affect how much money they earn in a negative way, then this feature would have been implemented years ago when it was first suggested. But the logic/economical justifications are all there.......... if they implement this feature, they WILL lose money. It would be bad for business.

Generally speaking, CoC is an individual sport. CW is only a recent addition.

As others said, the main reason is because in the OP's scenario of being short 1000 gold for an upgrade you would have to buy what you are short on with Gems. If you could just get it free from clanmates, you would be able to avoid buying gems.

It's either buy and spend gems, or be patient.

I really like this idea that way it is risky to transport and its another way for people to get resources

what sc could do then is charge people gems to guarantee the resources to get there safely.

the transport function should only be done if it is over a certain amount of resources like 1000 for example.

the last thing that could make it more balanced is only allow one or two transports a month.
