Pushing farmers

I have been a committed farmer all through my year and a bit of playing clash but since maxing my base I have thought that may be it might be the time to have a bit of a trophy push. So I have started pushing up starting off at M3 where I have been farming for the last couple of months.

The problem is I keep getting distracted by bases that have loads of loot but are far from a sure thing in terms of actually winning the raid. This means my progress is terribly slow.

My question is to other farmers who have gone on trophy pushes - how do you turn off your greedy farmer side and learn to value trophies?

Same bad habit here, when i decide to try to go as high as i can it turn my clan in rush mode, the as i am the highest level of the clan and the clan leader i always want to be an exemple for all.
I may still appect a loss from time to time during the progress, but not as often as usual, the mates are watching me ! lol

As you said yourself, progress is terribly slow... But it is still progress! No one is racing you!

Enjoy the loot man, once a farmer always a farmer. There is just no switch, embrace the farmer inside you! As long as you still end the day with more cups than you started, then there is nothing to worry about.

If your base is maxed then the loot is pointless. It is hard to resist a base with 300k of each in the collectors though, haha. I have gone on little trophy pushes but I have always had walls to upgrade. In that case, it was always worth it to lose some trophies to get some loot.

I suppose you are right but i've only gone up about 150 trophies in the last day or so and I'm impatient.

Sorry I should have said maxed except for walls and Heroes. Still doing lavas so the loot is still tempting me :(

Dont worry, i get you. My clan used to have pushes every 6-8 weeks, but frequency slowed a bit as updates and upgrade costs became relentless (a while ago). The longer the farms inbetween became, harder it was to re-form the 'win at all costs' mentality.
Depends on what army youre using as well, a complete comp change can help change the mindset.
Are your elix/dark storages full? If they are already, does help to take your mind off loot.
Mostly, just try and blinker yourself, dont look at the top 3 numbers in the top left corner, just the bottom one and base strength. Good luck and have fun, dont worry, takes my clanmate who's been dark grinding for 15 months nearly 2 weeks to try and forget that dark store.

On that note, I was in a war clan. We had 66 war wins, all we did was war. As you can imagine it was hard to turn a profit while warring so much. I recently left and went solo. Dear god it is amazing how much I get done just on collectors alone. My DE drills have actually allowed me to upgrade my golem and heros instead of going to war troops.


On topic: OP, I don't blame you for going after loot if your walls are not max yet. If it was me, I would probably give up on trophies and farm myself into bronze.

When I went for trophy push my whole focus would on getting trophies. I would calculate how much I am going to get for 1-2 star on attacking a base. If it was more than my estimated trophy per attack, then only I would attack or else skip to the next base.. :)

I'll agree, its not easy, but what does the trick for me is I know I can always farm, no matter what. (how else is my base going to progress?) So I will just go back to farming when I am done pushing..

So hopefully the bases I hit on the way up... can get some loot too. (or maybe not have to use a full army, spells Royals etc..)

but in the end I realize its not as lucrative to push.. I try to aim for the TH with my 'Resource Targeting Strategy' similar to Coring for the centralized Dark tank.. or if I cannot get it easily (Dual Discos) then focus on 50 % win option. it tends to be a similar... chew around the base/side, Royals n Rage the core (or Gobbies on the Dark tank)

Next is your friend. Raid in sessions, not spotty raid here and there.

shift your mind set to "Trophies are the 'most valuable' Resource" for a while.. and I think you can break through. if you have a goal in mind, then getting there quicker is the key.. focus on the goal, not the loot. if you win you get a bonus anyhow right?! Fill your 'Trophy Storage". Make winning a priority; its no different than farming, hit the bases that offer the most trophies you feel you can get with your push army.

Just make a 50%? :p
It's not that hard to make a 50% with an army which is made for trophy pushing, now is it?

Sorry chief but a farmers greed will never end.
