Leaving a clan after war has been declared

I'm the leader of my clan and this has, of course, happened a few times. At first the idea sounds good, they can't leave during war. But how happy do you think they will be about not being able to leave? Do you really think they will attack twice in the war? Even once? Even worse, they are so unhappy about being stuck there that they decide to sabotage the war. Rearrange their war base for easy stars, dump any war castle troops donated, donate goblins to every request for troops on battle day, etc...

Obviously it is frustrating when people leave during a war but, this is not a good solution for stopping that.

I am a clan leader and I would not want this to be in the game.

The way it works in my clan is, I send out a message and every member who wants to be war member needs to let me know in clanchat. I make notes of this in a spreadsheet. All other members are requested to leave to our sister/feeder clan before war search starts. Members that did not leave and did not tell me they wanted to participate get kicked, the remaining is our war selection. If more than a multiple of 5, too bad for the ones with lower cups.

During war we allow all members to leave to our sister/feeder clan or to even other friendly clans to pick up troops if they feel they can get better than ours.

With your suggestion I could end up with one of my higher players in our feeder clan and my lower level players not being able to pick up lvl4 dragons in our feeder clan.

If you have suggestion how this would fit into what you suggested, I am curious to see.

Forcing somebody to remain in a clan they don't want to be in is a horrible idea and will only create a worse situation than you currently have. You are complaining about people who already have a questionable moral compass and are protected from any real harm by being on the other side of their keyboard. If they are willing to leave you high and dry in your war what do you think they will do if they are forced to stay for 48 hours? Change up their base to give an easy 3 stars, fill war castles with trash as fast as possible, waste their two attacks anyway, spam your clan chat with an even lower form of global chat and generally be as disruptive as possible until you kick them out.

In the end you don't want that player in your clan, and they don't want to be in your clan. Why force them to be? Just let them go and hope to find a player with manners.

yeah, even if you could force them to stay, you cant force them to try.

Conceded they can do this. It would likely get a kick from most clans. The request is whether they are pulling this stunt or not, that they not be able to join other clans until the timer runs out.

As far as not being able to go to the sister clan to pick up troops, I presume you mean the trick (and its fair to do since the game allows it) of having a high powered benefactor that was not factored into the matchup when war was declared still providing troops to the guys that are in it. All you would have to do there is instead of everyone going to the sister clan to see that person they come back over after the war starts. Logistically that is also easier for the fewer people that need to move back and forth.

Nope, I disagree with most here and that the OP is right to some extents. Dropping out of wars puts clans at such a disadvantage. Sometimes several people leave during the war leaving you no chance at a win. They join the clan with the false pretense of warring only to receive high level troops and then leave. It's just another form of hopping.

Then you get those of you who say it's a bad idea to force someone to stay. Well, you're not. Here's the low down on a very simple fix. Quick, painless. No fuss.

- After war has been declared, if a person tries to leave, he/she will receive a message stating that "you can't leave an active war. However, you will be removed from the clan as soon as the war is over." This prevents a person from possibly getting caught up in back-to-back wars as someone mentioned earlier.

- When you are removed from a clan by SC after a war has concluded, your CC gets emptied out. This prevents people from leaving with high powered troops donated for war.

Plain and simple....leave a clan.....loose your CC troops.

Granted this in no way forces a player to partake in the war as they could just simply not attack. Which would be fine but you still are going to loose those valuable troops that you dearly wanted in your CC.

This isn't designed to force anyone to do anything, However and hopefully, this would be an incentive for the person to attack and get win plus the bonus that comes with it.

I think this is a very simple solution.

I like that. Heck, even if they let them leave but cc got emptied that would kill a lot of the incentive.

But if they could not join other clans either that is better. Once it is known what happens the behavior will not be as common (except for the occasional idiot trying it because they think they are the first to ever think of it). Also, folks that want to visit another clan will know what to expect and can relocate before war starts.

A fringe benefit is that if you can't join other clans the logistics of spying get harder too. (You would need to have an 'agent' that is not in the war.

This is exactly what I am talking about. This is an example of people putting together an idea that could possibly work with a few tweeks. All I am trying to get across is do not tell a clan that you want to war with them and then after war is declared, leave the clan high and dry. Thanks for this insight and I hope SC sees the benefit to clan wars and clans as being helpfull.

hm? no. SOME ppl r my friends, and i was just giving an example. I basically have this friend who is for some reason in a different clan than the rest of my friends since he's weaker. I sometimes visit his clan to donate troops and leave. He's only a member there, and can't start a war or anything. However, some genius co started a war right when he saw that there were ten ppl in his clan and...yeah.

Definitely a bad idea forcing someone to stay.

What could you get out of it
-2 attacks if they want to

What they could do to sabotage the war on top of not attacking (which is what would happen if they left)
-Spam poor troops into castles, some people aren't on enough or don't notice the troops and won't dump them
-setup base for an easy 3 star
-Fill attacking clan castle troop requests with trash forcing players to wait 20min to request again.

I see zero reason for forcing people to stay during a war.
