That is actually an excellent suggestion and would improve on the concept of this troop.... making it work with other troops better.

I will lower his DPS..... But make it so that when he damages defenses they attack at half speed for 3 seconds (so as long as he's hitting it this will remain constant) and that while in this "chilled out" mode the defense receives 150% damage from all attacks. This is something that should apply to anything he deals damage to now that I think about it.... Meaning heroes, cc troops, walls, and other buildings too.

And upon death he will still have his frost shockwave that freezes completely for 3 seconds

I'm going to need to adjust his stats though to better balance him out.

what you can do is change around his ability a bit. Have it so that he attacks and it harms the defense in the cool down mode, but cut out the shockwave entirely. This way he seems less OP. Then you could also make him only x2'd by wizard towers and make him susceptible to spring traps as many troops are not.

I like the idea of him being able to have a shockwave at death though, which wouldn't apply if he got killed by a spring trap.

I actually really like this new idea of the "chill out" effect with this unit's attack; and I don't really think he is OP given how much housing he takes up, which is 25, can't attack flying, he only moves at 12 speed, takes 45 min to build, and cost 300 dark.

what might happen instead is that it'd be a freeze spell that drops once he's killed, almost like a giant who drank a freeze spell which is why it takes so long to train and whatever. Point is on death he drops freeze spell so it'd fall from the sky like it usually does if he is killed, this takes care of your shockwave problem. Also, if you wouldn't mind I am gonna use this to advertise my new idea, the sprite, a couple threads below, please check it out its kinda cool, not like the frost devil though, bud dum chhh

It's certainly smaller than a freeze spells area of effect and doesn't last as long

what an amazing troop but i kinda agree with venomben's original post though with there being no shockwave, i get it your attached but i mean cmon its adding an unnecessary element plus sc has seen enough spawns after a troop dies, golem, lava hound, balloon (a little). If you bumped up the attack to more and cut out the shockwave thingy, and made him susceptible to all traps, he'd be less op, more balanced and all

I don't see a problem with invulnerable to spring traps or the frost quake, though it does seem to me that an ice demon would get melted by an inferno tower? Must be some magical ice.


What I was imagining was basically taking the DPS all the way down to 0, and giving him an icy breath or something that comes out of his hand that slows down defenses while increasing the damage other troops are capable of doing. At level 1, he might slow down defenses by 25% while increasing the damage other troops can do to that defense by 25%.

Rather than having wizard towers do double damage, perhaps they are simply not affected, or at least aren't slowed down. Inferno towers however are effected twice as much as other defenses, and I think it should be the same for walls. Or maybe he actually does damage to walls? Now that I think about it, that's the issue with the icy breath and targeting inferno towers, unless he just targets defense.

As for HP, 2500 might work, though somewhere between 1500-2200 might make more sense as a starting point? Not sure; this is something that would have to be played with...the idea is to get him to live long enough to get to the inferno towers.

The other question is what happens when you have 2 of them trained on the same defense?

Perhaps it does balance the troop out more to get rid of the shockwave....

My main attachment with that thought is just that when the troop dies it freezes the inferno tower and halts it's stream attack so that it would have to build back up again before it could deal massive damage.

I'll revise it to make it more fair.
And trap wise the Frost Devil is susceptible to everything, and weak against 2 kinds(wiz. Tower and b. bomb)

Damage wise I don't want the troop to be too powerful. Original I had him dishing out 160... Then dropped it to 90 and now 35.

Any suggestions on how much DPS seems appropriate for a troop like this?

That is huge ecspecially since he has an area splash attk.

Him having all the weaknesses he has is justified; and that is why his DPS can't be too high.

Health wise originally I had him at 2600, but dropped it after he was given the "Chill Out" ability

And if there are more than one on the map, both will target whatever inferno tower is nearest to them, or whatever walls they need to get through to get to it
