proof that nobody wants to fill sugar/cream boats. i followed these farms yesterday just to see how long these would get filled. boat is still there! what a pity since most already had all the crates filled except for the cream and sugar.

I think the brown sugar and cream ones are the worst, the counts are just so high and the coin/XP reward is terrible especially for such in demand items (particularly cream). Though white sugar is a very close second, I blow through it like nobody's business so even sparing 5 for a crate feels like I'm putting myself in deficit.
At level 57 the minimum I get for a cream boat is either 3 crates of 10 or 4 crates of 8. I'm lucky to have 20 cream in stock on a good day and, tbh, that's with the help of my husband's dairy. So, I can't even fill my own boats that ask for it, I'm certainly not going to give away literally half my stock to a stranger.
Edit: I fill honey popcorn crates for my neighbors all the time. Unless you're unable to collect honeycombs with any frequency it's not a difficult item to make and keep in stock. I have 12 on hand right now.
Exactly, Pitchfork. :) No one should jump to conclusions and assume that they know someone else's intent or stock. Nor should folks be called names or looked down upon because they don't cast off boats. Maybe they don't know they can or perhaps they are working on their Captains achievements.Quote:

this is NOT name and shame, at least its not my intention. this is merely to show how a boat order, with all crates filled and few hours left, did not have the sugar and cream crates filled. thats all. its up to you to interpret, but people who have eyes can clearly draw their own conclusions. you dont have to jump to it. if you like to interpret it in another manner, feel free to! nobody said you cant.
i dont care what their intentions are, im just saying people dont fill those crates. if you want to say things like "theres still some time" then i can also post screenshots of the timer going down to 0.
I think they are not experienced players. If they were they would probably cast the boats off. So I don't suppose they made enough use of the newspaper system. As I always got my cream/sugar crates filled within half hour or 1 hour.Quote:

But that level passes very quickly. It may have been for a week or two.
I have seen seen high level players asking for sugar and dairy crates to be filled as well as low level players who should be in that "sweet spot" where they are easy. But as has been said, I don't know what has been going on. Those people may have sold or traded all their sugar prior to getting the boat order.
I i have no problem with people asking.
I just think that with the high demand for both dairy and sugar just for producing other items SC could cut us a break and remove sugar and dairy from boat orders.
Im just noticing this again wih the boat event going on as I had stopped looking for crates to fill up until now. Because of this.
The high ratio of posted help signs that are for sugar and dairy just make the game less fun. For me. I'd love to share my honey popcorn, my baked potatoes, pizzas, cakes, pies etc. but I cant because so few people are asking for it. They are keeping their sugar and dairy to make this stuff.
If "helping" is becoming a case where I must restrict my own production machines and focus on making just sugar and dairy just so I can fill a few crates then It's just not worth it. For me, to even try to help.
I did not restore the wharf because it did not interest me at the time. I frequently have extra dairy and am happy to fill a crate, which I do. I find needy boats from the newspaper.
Here is my dumb question. How does one find needy boats if the crates are not flagged?

cream and sugar ARE simple ingredients but its not funny when the boat asks for so many of them at a go (i had a boat order of double brown sugar once making it 56 in total). why on earth would i give 56 brown sugar to a boat? but yes i see your point as well.Quote:

I used to help other people's boats constantly - then I had a long backlog of machinery that I couldn't buy.
Also, most people do not return the favor - which is fine, but, I had to stop and take stock of what I was doing. I was not progressing in levels and didn't have much to sell. I was making it harder on myself.
I decided to focus on my selling for a while, and then once I have the machinery up to my current Level, I can start helping others a while again.
I still browse boats once in a while though. I will fill someone's crate if I have the stuff on hand. I have even gone and bought things for a friend's boat and filled their crate just because. I don't do that all of the time but when I feel like making somebody smile or something. I spread out that good cheer, I don't hover on people's farms.
I have even filled sugar and other basic crates in the past. If my machines are all busy, and I have extra, why not. Sugar sells for a pittance anyway.
What is hard to do is to give honey away to visitors or to boats in any form. It takes a while to get, all honey things take up a lot of it, and so I rarely have many on hand. I advise if people really want to fill their boats every time, to use Tom. If they can't use Tom then they have to just take their chances.
I don't ask for help on boats because I don't do the boat task any more. Not worth it. I'd rather sell, for now. When I did do the boat task I didn't ask for anything outrageous. If it looked too hard I didn't fill it up at all, so no need to ask for help.
