Sickle to harvest only 1 type of crop

lets say i have a few types of crops planted next to each other, sometimes i dont want to harvest all of them rightaway, i only want to collect, say, the wheat. but when the sickle icon is activated, it harvests all the crops. why cant you make it like the berry/fruit basket? the basket only collects 1 type of fruit/berry. means if you're harvesting cocoa, you move the basket over the coffee bush and nothing happens. please do the same for the sickle. i plant lots of tomatoes and indigo for decorations and dont want to harvest them but i find myself always accidentally swiping them when i collect other crops.

Interesting idea. Since I have an iPad harvesting other crops isn't a big problem because I make my farm larger so the sickle is small and only yields the crop I want. But I can see how that would be a problem for a small screen.

i play on ipad too, maybe my fingers are too fat lol

the indigo is only for decor but i always harvest it accidentally when i collect the wheat so i need to be really careful!

Tip: use 2 fingers (2 touches simultaneously).

Put two fingers down on wheat land and swipe. Or better, keep one finger in place (on a land), use the other to touch/swipe every lands you want to harvest.

using two fingers do not show the sickle but if your fingers touched the other crops, they will still be harvested. in fact i think two fingers on the screen is even clumsier than one. i want it to be like the fruit basket where you can only harvest 1 type at a time.

Maybe I did not explain well. Use a second finger help me to be more precise and choose the land I want to harvest. The moment you touch the sickle, any land "under the sickle" is harvested. And it never be the land on which you place your finger.

I love the way it works now, if I were to plan 10 types of crop and have to choose the sickle 10 times I would be mad :rolleyes:. Crop time is way shorter hence harvested more often than fruit.

yea the majority always wins i guess. im the minority who uses crops to decorate my farm. i know SC would probably not heed my suggestion but we/i can always hope. you have a point about 10 sickles being a hassle but i thought maybe a balance or something inbetween would be nice lol

One solution to the great sickle debate might be to have a tap/double tap option like there is in Word formatting. If you tap on a crop, the sickle would only harvest that crop. If you tap twice, it would keep mowing stuff down until you tapped the sickle to end the harvest.
