My practically maxed TH7

I i were you i would go ahead & upgrade to TH8, I went fast to TH8 & now camped there since long, point is you get lvl 5 troops & good to wh@ck the bit weak TH9s and easy to run over th7s....

only max absolutely everything at TH8... you get good loots from TH8 / TH7 / TH9

Max EVEREEEEETIIIIINGGG. Including barracks and collectors. You will need it in the future, it will help you A TON.
