How can I predict the movements of my troops

What I do not understand lately is why are groups of Giants splitting into two groups after destroying one target. Or why is one Giant staying behind and trying to go through a wall while there is a clear opening just two or three tiles away.

Why are the archers or barbs waiting for a sec and then go to the least valuable target?

This is seriously affecting my attacking. What is happening now I just let the wave of troops loose and watch what is happening on the field.

Am I doing something wrong or have I missed something?

I think what has happened is that super cell "fixed" the OP offense by dumbing down troops.

When you get skills you wont have to predict, you will just know! :cool:

I think if the troops have a similar choice in one or more targets (i.e similar distance & walls) then the choice between the targets is randomized. So a random amount will choose one target whats left will go to the others.

while troops are designed to go towards the building (or favourite building) closest to them, supercell is reiterated that there is a certain element of randomness added to troop AI which cant be calculated, its the reason why archers seemingly target a random building behind another, or everyone's favourite scenario which has been repeated ad nauseum (seriously guys stop complaining about this), why archer queen targets walls. In your case, this also explains why your giants are targeting different defenses or are hitting a wall.

in essence, you can plan your raid pinpoint precise, but you can not accommodate for the randomness variable

If you see troops constantly doing the same things, you basically are predicting them. Just try using these things to your advantage. For instance, giants can be used pretty much the same as golems. If you have a giant bashing on a wall, it means all the mortars in range will fire on him. Which could help you, leaving your archers/gobs/wiz/whatever to clean up.

I have also noticed a bit of change to my farming troops A.I., but I just adapted. So doesnt really get in the way. Except the WBs, they can really do some stupid stuff lately.
