I use barbs, archers and archer queen. I farmed maybe 40k de yesterday, not sure because I ended up maxing my storage.
Trophy range is as high as you can get. I'm in the master league now. My goal was to push trophies, but I ended up with a bunch of loot too. When you have high trophies, even just the loot bonus adds up.
In higher trophies leagues, a lot of people use their storages as shield to protect their trophies, so just barbs and archers is enough to get massive amounts of de.

Screenshots are 1 day apart, I just boosted 2 barracks, AQ & spell factory.
Loonion helps get to cores for me. Also, you can't expect to get all 3 resources at the same time, focus on one of them and farm for it. Go up to crystal 1 or masters to farm gold and de. Loot bonus is 400+ and storages routinely offer 1000+. Read Brandon's DE guideQuote:

I farm around 10-20k DE perday when I am focusing on DE without boosting. Not a big number i guess, but it's what I can get with my time. If I am busy all day, then I usually can get almost the same number with boosting. It's easier to find bases with 1000++ DE in gold I up.
Usually I use barch plus 8 wb with 1 rage spell to hit mid th8 with 800++ DE. But if both of my heroes are up I go for tougher th8 or mid th9 with 1200++ DE without the spell. The queen helps alot though to shoot down the de storage faster. Just make sure the path are cleared so the queen go directly to the storage.

I have been hardcore farming DE for a long time and now both my heroes are level 30 which is the highest I can get them at TH 9. I used balloonion in 2600 range, sometimes won every raid and got up to 2800 and stayed there but there is more than enough at 2600 trophies!
I used the basic balloonion strategy, 20 loons and 60 minions + 6 loons in CC. You can go with minions too if your clan donīt provide maxed loons fast enough. If you got any questions feel free to PM me :)
crystal 3 to gold 1, I use giant healer barch. any base from mid level TH9 and down you can get to core easy. This army is also a lot cheaper and faster than loonion. not to mention it doesnt use any DE.
I am TH-10 but this is what I do. If looning I usually use 20 loons the rest minions plus cc filled with minions, you can get away using 16 loons on a larger percentage of bases. I look for bases with 4k+ DE but will attack any base where I know I am guaranteed to get at least 3K DE. If my queen is upgrading or I am upgrading a dark barrack I will barch and look for any base where I can get 2k+ from the pumps or if the storage unit is near the outside.
I personally like masters 3/2 due to the loot bonus, I have also found crystal 3 and 1 to be decent, I have never found good loot in crystal 2. Just my 2 cents.

Im a mid level town hall 9. The way I see it, farming for DE has two approaches. One is to go to crystal 1 & 2 and use baloonion, the other is to use Gaiant archer Goblin raids in gold league. My favorite is giant archer goblin combo, but the key with this combo is to go absolutely easy raids th8s with 700 to 1k de loot. Baloonion will yield higher loot per raid about 1.5k to over 2k DE per raid but there will be more failed raids as opponents are tougher. With giant archer goblin raids on easier opponents, consistency is greater and there is no de cost of troops... So at the end of the day both approaches will yield similar results. For more info on the combos i mentioned research Baloonion and WAGG combos.
just use giant barch(no healer) go for the occasional 1k + storage raid but basically go for any quick cheap collector raid for drills when you see them... and constantly raid...
that nets me about 30k a day... with one boost 40-45k... i use a full army attack maybe 25-30 attacks maybe 40-50 if you count the quick hits...
Crystal 3 and up is a great place to farm de. I prefer using giant healer and barch since they don't cost de and are fast to train.

30K a day? Really? U guys that claim to farm 30k a day barely FARMED a million....OP asked how other people do it... not for them the brag....... Anyway 2200-2400+ is a good place too look tho.
My friend a th9 get 20k a day using zap primarily but it hurt the elixir so much so even cant do lab upgrade a th9 with th8 offense

Both is very excellent and very detailed, you can't fail if you follow one of the guide.
Use Sharp's if you're a lazy raider, use Brandon's if you're a hardcore farmer

for barb king to lv 10 hardcore farmer but only get gold and elixir lately
Loonion in Crystal 1 with 20 loons, 60 minions and cc full of mins. 3 rage 1 lightning or 2 heal 1 rage 1 lightning (I prefer rage spells). Using 1 spell per raid, getting 2k+ de. Main targets are th9s and preemie th10s. 30k without boosting is normal for me, with boosting around 50/60k. Also there are a lot of snipes in c1 because of the low all the master snipers.
Both heroes non stop upgrading + DE troops in the lab (balks and the Hound). I have nearly always around 7mio gold in my storages and elixir is around 5/6mio. Good way to farm in general.
I farm dark elixir in master league, been finding 2-3k each battle.
