I can never find anyone with even 1/3rd that loot. Just because someone can't access the game because they are on vacation or at a wedding or something where they can't get online, doesn't mean some greedy thief can take whatever they want. This is why the shields need to ditch the cool down nonsense. I was away at a wedding in the middle of an area with awful cell reception and couldn't get online. The shield system would be good if there was no waiting for it to be available again. 90% of my attackers when I try to retaliate or just dump trophies on them are on a shield. They need to stop that wait time. Sure their may be less people to attack but there will still be plenty of people to take trophies from. If I go away for a week and come back and then 3 days later they have the 1 gem boosting, I can't take advantage of that because I used the shield for my vacation so I wouldn't lose a ton of loot and I have to wait for the shield to be available again, that's not fair. Its dumb to boost production without a shield, because every greedy thief will try to take whats not theirs and you could never get enough for that 4 million upgrade (see first screenshot). It's nonsense like this that will make me and I am sure a lot of other players stop playing (if they haven't already). I've already stopped playing Boom Beach because of many little annoyances that built up over time.
If someone leaves the town hall out, have the decency to take the easy win and move on regardless of how much loot is available.
Short version, the shield system needs to ditch the cool down timer and be available again right after it runs out or stackable (without a price increase of course) and loot grabs need to be limited to 5 figures and nothing more.
Also a serious question, how is someone supposed to play the game for more then 5 minutes at a time when you have to wait for troops to 'train' and it takes anywhere from 5 minutes to maybe an hour depending on what you like to use? Do they expect everyone to throw away gems on speeding up disposable troops that can be lost in mere seconds? It wouldn't be so bad if it was maybe 5 gems to boost an entire army to be done instantly.
