I don't know about guides since im self taught but 80/120 was what i did to get master at th8
For basic farming I just do one rax barbs and three archers. Easy no counting, little heavy on the archers but I'm lazy
I do an exact 100/100 comp, with 25 of each per barrack.
Depends what kind of bases you are raiding.
for harder bases, you want more tanks, so more barbarians.
for easier collector bases, more archers are better.
As a TH7, I have a 60 and a 50 barrack on barbs, and two 55 on archers. This works out at about 110:90, as barbs train a bit quicker. It's just easier to spam a barrack with one of each.
I take along 12 wallbreakers and ~88 archers and barbs with heal spells. You want to try not to use the heal spells, but it can be profitable at times.
Barracks are set up as such:
B1: 3 wb, all archers
B2: 3 wb, all archers
B3: 3 wb, 15 archers, rest barbs
B4: 3 wb, all barbs
That way while I'm attacking my troops are still being made. Then I set it back up again and repeat.
Many people like to take along less wall breakers, I wouldn't advise taking less than 8 for a th7+ since barbs and archers are no good at busting through walls. When you're out of wall breakers, your attack is basically not going any further inside of a base.
Typically you want to send your troops in waves, so splash damage doesn't destroy them all.
Barch = 80 ; Archer = 120
You deploy barbarians first then archers.
80 barb 80 archer 4 giant 6 wb 2 wizard.
Giants can tank wizard towers, wb can get to storages behind walls, and wizards help when 20 cc archers come out, or when the king decides to distract your troops...;)
For pushing I would say 80 barbs 120 archers but for farming I would say 100-100.
I'm at TH9 and have been barching since th8. Always done 2 barracks of each barbs and archers since I'm a bit lazy withit haha. Rarely use all my troops so my composition varies.
With each barracks, I train four wall breakers, five gobs, and two barracks doing barbs afterward, two doing archers, and both dark barracks training minions (sometimes I'll add five hog riders to each dark barracks).
This gives me 16 wall breakers, 20 gobs, and the rest BAM (possibly with 10 hog riders).
I also make one lightning spell, two rages, and two freeze.
My objective is to not use any spells, or CC troops, and possibly just barchers/BAM. The hogs, wall breakers, gobs and heroes are there if I need to bust into storages.
You're going to get a lot of opinions on the matter. It depends a bit on your king level (min level 5 is obviously the best). I don't do the "purist" barch army. I have a composition of 77/77 more or less, with 8 WB and 15 minions, and I find that to work exceedingly well. Obviously I'm looking for collectors, but I can also easily penetrate a layer or two into the right bases to get to storages as well. I don't always deploy the minions, but on certain bases they can be a real difference maker, and hanging out in Gold I/II I'm not concerned with the DE expenditure. Most raids easily cover it and then some, and the occasional 1000+ DE raid more than makes up for the less than stellar raids that happen from time to time.
I also carry 2 heals, 1 lightning spell at all times. Lightning for dealing with CC troops if needed, and heals are specifically for the king after penetration into a base after some juicy storages that are worth the spell drop. Use you spells only when neccessary. The key to this type of composition, besides the speed and low cost of the build, is to maximize efficiency. Dropping a spell every raid is not very efficient.
It's easy to get bored doing this, and I'm on the cusp of straight up boredom. Within the week however I'll have every single barrack maxed out and I'll get to start playing around with GoWiPe, and have done so at a very efficient clip, so the end justifies the means.
92 barbs
92 archers
8 wall breakers
Four finger fighting!
90 barbs and 110 archers worked for me back in the day :).
Have fun!
