I'm TH9, and I think on average I spend around 50k gold per raid just to find something > 150k gold. That's not to say I get all the gold either, and it could cost me spells too. I feel the cost is too high, i've earned 300k gold in the past 90 mins, not finding anything to raid. 1600 trophy range.
As a TH7, we spend 380 gold for each raid chance. Usually for me, I spend about no more than 10k gold since I can easily find bases with the loot bonuses smiling down upon me. :cool:
And that's around the 1400-1600 range.
I will update this thread starting now with my frequency of finding decent 150k+ raids at 1300+ trophies.
At TH8 I spend about 50-90k looking for a good loot base... i'm quite picky haha, I try look for 150k of gold and elixir when I raid.
Hit next 100 times and stopped. Found 2 bases with over 150k. The first was after hitting next 26 times and had 150k but was heavily defended. The second was after hitting next 62 times and had 160k but was also heavily defended and would have taken my entire army. So I spent $75k gold and still couldn't find a match worth taking!!!!!!!
You do realize farming is not just raiding 150k+ raids right?
if you farm at ~1000 you can get 120k average CONSTANTLY
EDIT: because thats when most TH6s save for TH7 prematurely

At the most around 10K to find 200K+ loot. I seriously wonder how people can say there's no loot; I'm TH7 and have 4M gold and 3M elixir sitting around while my builders are busy.
