Ice Bomb/ Picture

Hello i have a new trap. It is the Ice Bomb what it does is when a ground troop is in its radius it will explode a freeze potion which will freeze the enemy's troops for a period of time. The infernos will cut the freeze duration in half if the troop is frozen and is hit by infernos. This trap affects only ground troops. You will have the option to switch between ice bomb and regular bomb so its incorpated into the regular bomb. As an example lets say you have 4 bombs, you could have 4 bombs set on ice or 4 set on regular.but you cant have 4 regular and 4 ice. Or you could have 2 regular 2 ice.
at Th 8 you can have 1 of these traps,

at Th 9 you can have 2,

and Finally at Th 10 you can have 3.

Lvl 2 upgrade cost is 100k. 1 day to upgrade
lvl 3 upgrade cost is 500k. 3 days to upgrade
lvl 4 upgrade cost is 1mil. 5 days to upgrade

As a regular giant bomb, this ice bomb will have the same exploding delay.

i personally think anything above 5 seconds is too long. most defenses have a 1-5 second attack time maybe even less. the max freeze can only stop defenses for 8 seconds. I think that should be the benchmark for any freeze-type defenses and traps

For all of you who voted its horrible or needs changes can you please tell me whats wrong with it so i can make it better.

The ice bomb is an interesting idea, however, the amount of time it freezes enemies is WAY TOO long! This will make it toooo overpowered.

I think that this is idea is very brilliant Xconner. This would most likely be a great idea that Supercell would think of having. However Xconner, you need to bring down the time by two seconds. Five seconds is too long, but 3 seconds is great. Just lower that and your idea will most likely be apart of the upgrade.

Hello Guys and girls i just wanted to point out This as of right now will be a Christmas update idea since it is coming up soon. Thanks for looking;)

The only ones voting "No" on this are the ones that cannot execute a proper raid....nice idea, I like the tweak suggestions. With a little work, this might just get in.

I voted horrible, simple because i think that defense has become op and added more defenses would only make the game harder. As of now with the new skeleton traps and updated heros, it has become very hard 2-3 strong th10s.

Maybe after they add new troops or update the game i would change my mind, but as of now I vote NO to any more new defense traps or buildings.

I understand where you are coming from, and if they implemented this idea in the game i sure they would have to do something to make it fair so its not to weak or op.

And also to add, as i stated it will be in the bombs not more traps, so you can choose if you want the regualr bomb or ice bomb. so you could have 2 regular giant bombs and 2 ice giant bombs instead of having 4 ice bombs and 4 regular bombs, which would be really op

Now don't get me wrong, its a nice thought. But when we are talking about freezing stuff in CoC, everyone thinks of TH10. Come on man, the freeze spell. Low TH levels are not ready for something like this. If anything, the higher up bases need it anyways.

So, why not have the chance to do this at TH10? I do like the idea of changing the bombs to either exploding or freezing. I have no idea if you said they do damage or only freeze, but if you did say damage as well, that would be way OP. I mean, archers go out in one blase from basically anything as is. Making them hold still is good enough.

But, there should also be a downside. You know what handles fire constantly at TH10? Inferno Towers. Thus, they should be able to unfreeze troops either instantly, or at a faster rate than normal and favorite those troops. I know, this sounds like a huge setback. But hey, everything needs a weakness. Just don't put those suckers near them.

TBH i didn't even know about samurai siege thing. Its available at Th 8 - Th 10 not just townhall 8. Also it doesn't do damage it just freezes the troops. Ill have to think more about the inferno tower unfreezing thing. But thanks for your input.;)

Make it so the lvls are more basic and include TH lvls for example:

lvl 1: 1 second (TH 8)

lvl 2: 2 seconds (TH 8)

lvl 3: 3 seconds (TH 9)

lvl 4: 4 seconds (TH 9)

Thats a little to high, and i only put the giant ice bomb to lvl 4 since the regular giant ice bomb only goes to 4. But thanks for the input;)

This sounds awesome and could improve clash of clans and better it if would be awesome to have in my base I hope to see it ad I hope they make a new trap for it like the ice troll trap were they come out of an icy skeleton trap but they look like miniature ice trolls from sky rim it woulb be cool and cool to add to the reccomendation if you need any help or questions plz feel free to notify me.

It's not going to add on a cost. Let's say you you have 4 lvl 4 giant bombs and they all need to be rearmed it will cost 60k but this new trap won't add on a cost as it is in the giant bomb as saying you can either have 4 regular giant bombs or 4 ice giant bombs. Or 2 ice and 2 regular. But it won't be 4 ice and 4 regular

Not sure what you mean by the switching between ice and giant bomb. Are you saying you want to incorporate it with the giant bomb?
Otherwise, great idea, I've always wanted a trap that stops/slows troops. Every trap right now kills or does damage to troops. This could be a good change :)

First off, I think you have a neat idea. I'd just suggest a couple of changes:
1) Make it more clear in your original post about how you swich between "normal" bombs and ice bombs.
2) Greatly reduce the freeze time - maybe 1 second, 2 seconds, etc. (otherwise it is WAY too overpowered)

The only problem is in higher levels with GoWipe and GoWiWi when the heroes get in the center, and they have to take out the infernos, if they were frozen, they would be ripped apart. What if infernos melted the effect

Thanks for the great feedback! I have Changed the time to make more sense. Also i added A new Giant Ice Bomb concept art. as well i changed the wording of switching between Bombs to hopefully be more understandable.

Suggestions:

To make the change between giant and ice bomb- make it like the skeleton trap switching between air and ground or xbox change. That would be simple. Then you can have it custom too.

You out said we can have 2 giant or 2 ice... Th10s have 5 giant bombs though.

Make the range the same as a giant bomb- 3.5 diameter.

Yes i updated it Previously instead of switching bombs i put this. That way its still custom and it seems the switching was confusing other people, Thanks

Nice idea, think it would be nice to have an ice trap, I know people have thought of things like ice spring traps and such like before, I think just a bomb or air bomb would be fine though no need for ice giant bombs at the moment, as a normal bomb would still affect hogs for example, the revised durations are much more realistic, like the idea.

I like the concept, but I don't think this should be released unless to counter seriously underpowered defenses (as opposed to attack). We have not yet reached that level in CoC.

This would be seriously overpowered at all levels. Max freeze bomb going off next to the town hall, even if it had less of an effect with infernoes, would allow 2 multis to roast a GoWiWi.

I can probably come up with a troop like can resist the ice like the wizard or golem. that way it wont be to Op.

To make it not op I can put a certain amount of troops it can freeze at a time, also it won't last very long. I maybe could even do a Big troop that can resist the freeze or something. but thanks for the feedback

This is an awesome idea! This is the first time I have seen an idea like this and this will fit perfectly with the winter update. Also, this trap adds strategy into the game and that's exactly what we need. One thing though, I don't think it should be anymore than 8 seconds for a freeze. Most players are going to place this near their town hall so the inferno thing makes this a lot less op. Nice idea :cool:

Thanks for the Feedback. I added more info to it, so hopefully a better understanding of the trap.
