There needs to be a better way to sell/gift items to people in your neighborhood. We've had alot of trouble with putting things up for sell for each other and other people coming and buying them before we can get to them and since we always sell to each other dirt cheep it's really annoying. We've tried everything from not listing it in the newspaper, putting it in the last crate, and nothing works. :(
Can't agree more. it is very frustrating that when I want to trade with friends, my items got clicked away by stalkers. Even when I tried inviting friends to play and help give them a boast, items being sold to strangers when I'm trading often demoralised my friends to play further.
I agree, it be nice to have a neighbor market! Or the ability to leave the gift on their farm!! :)

In our neighborhood, we will put an item of little value (i.e.. wheat, 1 or 2 stalks) up for sale for a penny when we are selling to a neighbour. The neighbor will purchase that item, letting the seller know they are waiting in the road side stand & the seller will then put up the actual item the neighbor wants. It is not foolproof, but we have much more success with it than just putting the item up for sale without the pre-purchase of wheat. Unless there are changes made by supercell, it is worth using this method.

Have you tried putting the item you want to sell to your friends on the very last box on the right ? We do this all the time in the neighborhood I belong to, and it works quite well. We make sure we have the items, then make sure our friends who need the items already arrived in the farm, then we put the special item on the very last box on the right. Simply unchecked the free advertisement sign when it comes up
Based on our level, let say I'm level 24, I can send 1 gift to 1 friend in a single day. Level 40, I can send 2 gifts to 2 different friends in a single day. Level 60, I can send 3 gifts to 3 different friends in a single day.
Add a single restriction, for example:
1) Must be in the same neighborhood
or
2) Must be in the same level range
or
3) Must be friends
or any restriction that make sense. ^_^
The last crate/one wheat suggestions only work if the neighbors you want to sell to happen to be online. Prior to my latest unpleasant experience with Last Helpers I used to be able to put things in my shop overnight, which worked out really well since our members have varying schedules.
I've thought about a secondary check box, next to the advertising one, that would lock the items to "neighborhood members only" for a limited period of time (somewhere between 6-12 hours) after which it would unlock and anyone could buy it. Maybe there could also be a a new restriction that you have to have belonged to a neighborhood for 24 hours to buy anything 'locked' to discourage neighborhood hopping. Also, if people know there's a time limit they can follow the farm and keep an eye on the items they want so if no one in the neighborhood takes them they're available to everyone. While this still doesn't completely address the Last Helpers issue, it would help a lot without completely shutting out followers.

I like the idea of being able to sell just within the NH, but the real issue is what happens to DD/RSS? Nobody would use it as ppl would only sell within the NH and DD/RSS would die. It's already hard enough to find stuff on there, this is just going to make it that much harder. I do agree that it would be nice to have a way to be able to sell to a predetermined individual, but we need to be able to do it in a way that the DD/RSS still holds its value.
I think the current method of using a wheat or corn as a prescreen, is the best you can do. The whole point to the DD/RSS is that it creates that "chance" opportunity that anyone has a shot at. Friends just need to be on their game at the end of the day.
I love the idea, but this would completely kill the game IMO
I already barely use the DD. I thought the paper was cute/charming at first, but the longer I play Hay Day the less patience/use I have for it. I know some people enjoy the 'scavenger hunt' aspect of it, but I find it tedious. I only use it as a source for relatively common items now that I rarely need. Maybe I should make a post on the many ways I think the paper could be improved.
Regardless, the paper has issues all on its own that I view as separate from people having a secure means of selling within their neighborhoods. I doubt the two are as connected as people think. I've never seen any other game market collapse because it had a trading (or mailing) system.
I don't think that's true. People are already selling just to their neighborhoods. They are putting items out without the ad checked. So these items are not appearing in the paper anyway.Quote:

Yeah, I have to agree. It would make those rare finds in the DD even harder to find. The risk associated with a trade is part of the game. I often leave stuff without ad in my RSS during the day for my neighbors and followers, and would be in favor of getting rid of that last helper connection.Quote:

I agree that their needs to be a safe way to trade among the neighbors. I think mailing or one slot to trade on the stand up the way to go.
The whole point of being part of a neighbourhood is to be able to help your neighbours. It is super annoying to have random followers waiting to pounce on things you put up for neighbours. If I wanted randoms to get it, I would put it in the paper, which I also do on a regular basis. Not being able to control who gets products that are generally expensive or take forever to make is making me irate.
I do not believe that having more control of this aspect would deter people as they're missing out on the 'by chance' factor. Anyone can join most neighbourhoods so there is no exclusion there. The newspaper can still give people the 'by chance' rush some are worried about.
I agree with many suggestions like neighbourhood only boxes ... fantastic! Or limited time boxes ... great! Or being able to choose your followers ... awesome! Or checking a box for either neighbourhood use or general distribution ... yay!
Hay Day is a great game that I have been playing for a while now, and have invested a lot of time, energy and some money in. But having circling vultures being allowed to swoop in and steal things meant for others is peeving me to the point of losing interest in the game. It really feels like an invasion of privacy. :-(

The "followers" tab: you can ditch followers, if you want. In another thread Slantyr noted that it would be nice to be able to "promote" a follower to "friend" if you found a really good one.
The "last helper" tab: I'm assuming that the purpose of this tab would be for me to be able to go to the helper's farm and help in return. As far as I can tell, the negatives of having this tab AT ALL outweigh the positives. If the "helper" came to my farm through an ad in the DD, they are probably going to get any help they need from the same source.
The "like" smiley face: I don't understand all I don't know about this, because I never look at the Hay Day Facebook page, but it has discouraged me from "liking" farms I visit. It is interesting that one of the things that pops up when you open Hay Day is a little message encouraging you to "like" farms.
I'm an independent player; I am part of a two-person neighborhood. I use the DD. My "friend" tab is pretty hilarious--all the people on it are totally unknown to me except my one "neighbor" whom I introduced to Hay Day. Some of my "friends" have been there since the first day I played. I have no idea how any of them got there. I love Hay Day and these forums. I'm here to learn to be a better member of the Hay Day community. However, I believe we should each be able to control who visits our farms. Time for a change.
