Also I deleted the section on healers (been in progress for nearly a year ;)) and added QuadViz (or PentaViz). I had it all updated but got timed out and lost most of the content... however its a fairly simple strategy so I should be able to add it back in sometime. No videos yet.
Recently tried GoGiHeViz.. and I was amazed myself. Lost the replay after the maintenance though, which is one of my saddest moment. A premie th10 couldn't, well, almost couldn't, if it weren't because of my clumsiness, stand this attack at all. With inferno set to multiple, multiple giants take on the brunt, while golem on the other side cit through.
My troops comp:
10 lvl5 giants
2 lvl2 healers
8 lvl1 valkyries
6 lvl5 wbs
14 lvl5 wizs
10 lvl5 archers
Golem in CC
Lvl7 king
Lvl2 queen
1 jump, 2 heals n 1 rage
Split giants in half with healers behind, making sure ADs are not nearby, each group with 5 wizs and 2 valkyries backing them up. Wbs in pair so they start to enter the base, after thrash buildings are destroyed.
Golem deployed on the opposite side, exp giants on west then golem on east, with rest of the troops including royals.
A solid 98% on that premie th10. The other 2% was the builder huts in 2 corners that I overlooked.
Still trying to improve this strats, trying to improve it.Maybe a Pekka could be in this comp, who knows..

Just want to let you guys know I got my first 3star in quite a while thanks to an attack I learnt while visiting!Always got the 2star with gowipe or gowiwi but struggled to convert to 3. Used valks n loons after watching a couple of war replays (especially those by Chadamas) and got it!

I am really happy with where Valhalla has gotten. After the first event we used GoVaPe and GoViz extensively, mostly because its what I climbed to champs with.
After the hog events we gained a few using that, but since opening 24/7 and Hafid's success with his crazy hybrid builds we have a great variety now. Hybrid attacks, GoViz-GoVaPe-GoWiVa, Valkyrie Tornado, HoVa
I love warring in Valhalla. Honestly 80% of the time its too boring to watch our opponents attack us, lol

I saw that VaLoon (or I call it GoWiVaLo) attack video, and it spurred me to seek out bases susceptable to that, and I've been wrecking those bases without fail!
Depending on the base I use either loons or hogs for cleaning out the rest of the defenses and I usually have the three star in under 2min!
My comp is:
cc golem
1 golem
10 valk
11 wiz
12 loon
3 WB
2 heal
1 rage
1 jump
I have taken dowm many Max th9s with both loons and hogs.
If the base has all 4 ADs in core or all Giant Bomb in or in path to core, it's essentially a guatanteed 3 star!
the difference between GoVaLo and VaLoon is GoVaLo is a traditional GoWiXx style attack using back end loons (like a valk version of LoGoWiPe)
VaLoon is more like a HoLo style attack where you use one troop unit to take out key defenses that allow your main force to destroy the base (so in HoLo loons take out outer defenses allowing hogs to bypass dgb while in VaLoon valks take out ADs allowing loons to destory everything else)
it also depends how the golem(s) are used in CB VaLoon the golem is used to help kill the queen. In GoVaLo the golems tank for the main valk force.

I have learned deployment is different than a GoViz. Witches prefer tight golem deployment, still a pocket, but they beg closer protection. Valkyrie are very much core busters in this particular combo.
I am thinking of using this for my next run to champs.

So what level valks are necessary for using these types of strategies at th9? Obviously the higher the better, but are level 1 valks at all viable? That's all I have. These strategies look awesome, and I'd love to try them out.
For Th8, level is perfectly acceptable. The gain from 1-2 isn't a big deal. It'd make a difference but their solid out of the shoot.
For Th9 if your still early th9, level 1 will cut it. If your doing giants n' valks or the tornado for farming, 1 is fine. Saves you DE.
But your going to want to lure. Until you get to 3 and ideally 4, not luring is a bad idea because wizards have a good chance of 1 shoting your valks. Also the difference between 1 and 4 is actually very noticeable. Its just not many people request Valkyrie because maxed Valkyrie are uncommon.
But if tackling high level Th9, then you'd probably want to use only 4-5 Valkyrie for core busting because they won't have the hp to stand up to a beating. (for clarity, I mean if still working with level 1 or 2)
I'm a new TH8 and am just getting valks and golems now, what strategy do you reccomend for me?
Got mine maxed today after doing lvl 3 early in th9, then waiting till later on to max to lvl 4.
TH9 gowiva has been able to consistently 2-3 star my equal weighted opponents since they were lvl 2 at the start of th9. Lvl 3s continue the 2-3 stars against maxed th9. Can't wait to use them at lvl 4 next war, as they' were already plenty strong at lvl 3

Hi valks lovers. I decided to record my last 4 war attack in part because it happened to be a theme. I always incorporate valks in my attack but this time it happened to be all Valks and hogs even if Im a big fan of Valks and Loons.

Very nice. Some great examples of surgical hogs! I tend to use a blended surgical/mass approach. I deploy strategical but still all at once in a "hog style." Your healer lure's in particular showed very precise deployment :)

about the surgical hog deployment, it come down to base like most things. on 1-2 i went more surgical and on 3-4 deployed at all once after valk took down queen and were still tanking.
Yea I love loons too when its possible to kill AD with valks but usually use golem since my giants were still lvl 5 but now they just got 6 I migh try it. I just did a raid war with govalo but sent loons a tad too fast and ended up with a 95%. I am a bit depressed i never miss this kind of attack =(
Timing need to be a bit precisely mate, I need to wait a bit longer to send my loon. I am still try to make this strat perfectly executed.

Thank you to Nio and all the others that showcase Valkyrie based strategies. My clan been switching to gowiva, or a valkyrie based strategy if the base shows a nice packed core and large compact compartments rather than sticking to gowipe/dragon. On side note, I just pulled off a govalo 3 star for the first time in my coc career!

I've pretty much given up on my ginger LaLoon strat) 1 golem 3 wiz 3
wallbreaker 9 valks 2 hounds 14 loons 1 jump 3 rage. It works but I've found that any base I can do it on I can shatter LaLoon more easily. I'm still rocking VaLoon, VaHoLo, and GoVaLo when I can :)
The AD's are pretty close so a VaLo would work nicely. You could also do a HoVa, bringing up the Valkyrie from the bottom and do backend hogs. Loots like the traps are on the bottom.
GoWiVa double jump probably do it to (on the AD). That would make the base pretty open after the outside is breached.
I was thinking the same about the HoVa- not sure where I would put the jump though.. I thought about using it on the right hand side that would give access to the AD/WT compartment, the TH and probably 4 teslas, and then the royal's chambers. BUT, I don't want the valks to wander off into the other chambers before attacking the TH/Tesla chamber.

GoWiVa variation for sure. Jumps on the left side to open up WT compartment as well as the top and bottom AD compartments. Then on the opposite side, a jump on the wall segment to open up up mortar, AD, AQ locations. Maybe a few hogs to eliminate the right WT and get the AT/Cannon in the bottom right AD compartment.

Thats my two successful Valkyrie attack but realize not so stable for 3 stars if you just bring 6 Valkyries and maybe the level for the Valkyrie also one of the issues.

A quick look at youtube shows this is very much an Anti-ground based design. Most of the successful attacks on it seem to be LavaLoonion.
When pushing I had the most success with GoWiVa. When I switched to HoVa, I struggled. Which is making me think about switching back (I mainly did this because the DE cost was less intense)
You pretty much have to attack from a corner. I've tried going through the "buffer" and failed miserably.
Problem is, their is a huge defense ring, followed by a non defense ring, with a core packed with all the nastiest defenses
By best strategy was deploying my golems. Getting them inside, raging and letting my Witches clear defenses. Freezing the inferno as my first wave of skeles gets thinned out, sending in Valkyrie and slightly after Hogs. Usually with GoWiVa I could stall until I was fairly certain my units would go towards the core.
The problem is pathing is a huge b*tch. And Pathing is so important for the strategy that its a huge problem.
I've been attacking at a corner closest to one of the infernos. I am thinking of switching it up, to buy myself more time on deployment by attack in the center.
I'll let you know how it goes, but prob avoiding any maxed versions of it for now....

It varies. 8-12 loons - count out what you need - 2 loons per archer tower, 1 for cannons/mortar if u need but make sure to take our air
1-0 golems, I personally like a golem to tank
8ish wizards to funnel and clean up with 4-8 archers to help lure and clean up
5-8 Valkyrie, 5 if you bring a PEKKA - good for centralized BK or to break out of the core

You must be efficient to get the 3 star and watch the clock, but a great attack none the less

Have a look at this video about our last war, the 2 first attacks are standard GoLava attacks (sorry to mention that on this thread) but you will be happy to see the tird one is a GoVaWi, strarting badly but still getting 3 stars and the last one is an awesome GoVaLo.

So started using this attack and i have been pretty happy with the results.
army is
2 golem
8 wiz
8 breakers
7 valks
7 hogs
3 heal
1 barb or archer.
and cc full of max hogs.
Basically start with standard funnel, using cc troops to draw valks so make sure you dont set off cc right away. Let golems work towards the center and through a few walls. once the cc is set off send valks after it, unless a dragon then just use the wiz behind giant to kill it. Use first heal on valks as they get towards center. then send your hogs in, you will have two heals to use for them and the valks and golems will draw most of the defensive fire.
Standard hog rules apply, watch for giant bombs and try to set off a few spring traps with golems.
As long as you delay sending the hogs till valks are tanking and healing you will almost always clear all defensive building.

I I have to disagree. I'd do a VaHoLo.
1 golem and 12 valks along with 3 WB 7 wizards and a jump from 10 o'clock (drop jump near TH to get valks to that 2nd AD or King... Rage and heal on Cc as needed
then from like 4 and 5 1 giant at the archer towers followed by 9 hogs (another heal...or even a rage) if you have one left as needed. Then follow up with 7 loons once all ADs are down to clean up last defenses.
I just wanted to update this and let you guys know I've been having solid success with the Quad Viz setup. 60% - 2 star war attacks seem to be the norm with this combo. I've had the most success starting my attack on one of the 4 flat sides, that is aimed at 1 of the infernos, on the opposite side of the clan castle. However, not all of the square bases are the same and some tweaking is usually needed. Here is my standard army comp: 4 golems, 13 wiz, 7 wbs, 6 valks, 3 minions, 2 rage, 2 freeze, 1 jump, and 4 max valks/3 barbs for cc. On certain bases a second jump and wbs replaced by more valks/wiz can accomplish similar results.
Ya, I need to update my Quad Viz strategy.
I used it and feel its pretty solid but I've been trying to "evolve" my golem usage. Trying to pound on the outside of the base some before sending my tanks inside. However sometimes I get them hung up on the outside.
I am also having good luck with HoVaWi-GoGi

Its a combination of my GoWiVa and HoVa strategies, only with a touch of giants.
I used the Hogs like I do in a regular HoVa strategy and I set up the attack like a GoWiVa. I use the giants along with the Valkyrie to Blitz the core because they occupy the inferno beams better due to numbers. This allows me to hold off on using my Freeze spells longer and its allowed me to utilize a heal spell to much greater effect.
At 3600 I've been hitting for 60% totals with it. My first war raid with it I messed up and lost my Queen early in the fight costing me stars.
Especially with these new dark spells I am still developing things, so share away!
EDIT: When I get haste and Poison I really wanna see how 1 poison and 2 hastes help a VaLo strategy
So the new dark spells are going to bring some interesting developments to this thread in the furture
Poison Spell - Huge boon for HoVa and VaLo based strategies. May also bring back GoVaPe from the addition of the skeleton trap. Even for GoWiVa it will likely prove a huge help as it removes the need to lure as well as greatly reduces the cost of eliminating said troops
Earthquake - honestly its hard for me to gauge this one just yet. 4 of these puppies maxed out take out any wall and deal 40% damage to surrounding buildings. So subbing out a jump/freeze for this may be ideal on certain set ups. But also AI tends to gravitate towards weakened walls so it could also be an alternative way to path troops that is less instant that jump.
Haste - like poison this has more obvious applications. VaLo benefits greatly from this addition and dropping a rage for 2 haste spells is likely a smart move. Its possibly an effective addition to a Tornado attack as well to help giants sprint over spring traps and rush their targets. The Valkyrie itself though is already one of the fastest units in the game so it's more likely a boon to supporting units. I also expect that PEKKA may benefit from this spell due to high attack but very low speed.
When it comes time for the \/alhalla anniversary expect us to explore all of these spells!
I have been trying valks lately since getting them to max, thanks for all the information overload :) But our current war has a lot of early th 10s that look like they are just begging for a valk attack. I know it depends on the base but what valk attacks are better for th 9s vs early th 10s?
The base I am looking at looks like govaho would work well but when i go out to practice it on a th 10 it doesn't go well. The base i am looking at only has one line of defense and two walls until the very big core. Is Gowiva pretty reliable against th 10s? Thanks for any help, guess I will keep digging for info too.
GoVaHo is hard until you get freeze vs infernos
GoVaPe and GoViz should be good for 2 stars. PEKKA help most if their are high level infernos. At level 1, Valkyrie will tank just fine on their own.
GoWiVa can be effective if you have room to breath and can approach an inferno one at a time and can blitz it to put it out of commission quickly.
VaLo and HoVa are difficult to use if attacking up and without Freeze (at the Th10 level).
It also depends if your heros are a high level
So I made a post myself showing the VaLoon comp I'm gona use but replaced jump and a heal/rage with 4 EQ spells. I'm using it on the th9 version of the cyanide base. Think you could take a look at my post and offer any input if possible?

I am looking for a strategy to 3 star that base, not 2 star.

i am a new valk fan, mostly using them for 2-star attacks while pushing. This isn't a base which would make me hit the Attack button when looking for targets for a valk-themed attack, but it does appear to me that valks could be a useful part of the roster for dealing with AQ and CC here, if not the main theme of the attack. With AQ/CC shredded, a surgical hog approach might handle the rest.
Ive seen a couple of comments on the potential impact of dark spells on valk related attacks, but its been mainly related to th9s. What do people think about th8s with only 7 spell spaces? is taking just one quake spell the best option!?
Im a max TH8 attacker (defence, walls, mines have a way to go yet so will be doing th8 attacks for a while).
If poss I use mass hogs, but for those bases I cant mass hog gova-ho is my go to attack.
Usually lure/kill cc then use golem and wiz to clear outside, raged wall breakers and valks and king in to core and then back end hogs to deal with tricky to reach towers. a couple of heals where needed.
Surely a single quake is the best de spell to compliment valks?
as they pretty much always fizzle out when they get stuck on walls the wbs cant reach, a lv2 quake on this spot will give them a bit of a hand?
With only 7 spell spaces, th8s must take an odd number of de spells, so id imagine taking 4 quakes to outright destroy walls would never be worth the cost of not taking 2 elixir spells. id imagine it will still be best to keep the 1rage and 2heal rather than going for 3 de spells?

I agree with your thoughts, it is usually essential to get valks/heroes patched quickly to core. Walls cause valks to die.
i only have success using valks on large compartment bases.
HoVa is your best best. Use Valkyrie as the kill square for the heros and CC. Then hit with the hog attack. Its your best bet.
Just have to plan the attack out really well as their are lots of spaces for traps in that base
EDIT: I have not yet unlocked EQ but you can count to experiment.
It opens up several possibilities. 4 of these puppies could be used to blow a whole on the backside of an attack, where Valkyrie normally fizzled. Or possible one could be used to weaken walls enough so they go down quickly, or possible use that weakened state to funnel Valkyrie where you want to go

Being th8 im likely to stick with the one de spell as heal and rage are just too important.
Weakening will obviously be a welcome help but its the latter of these points i find most interesting, especially if using valks with hogs like i do.
Valks are pretty gd at picking out weak spots in walls rather than just heading towards the the nearest building behind a high level full health wall.
Im over simplifying but say on a gova-ho attack you burst through south with main attack then once you hit core you can deploy hogs on east and quake on centre-west to guide valks. hmmm. will report back in a week when quake is unlocked.

Thanks for this guide. I'm a mid TH9 and used CC Golem/Valks/Wizards/Hogs on my last 3 war attacks against other mid TH9. Tactic was based almost entirely on inspirations by this thread and gadihs website. Double sweet since my hogs are only lvl4 and my valks are still lvl1. It's unbelievable how strong this composition is.

I think I see a base that this would wreck, however the cc is a pretty hard lure. I am not sure how best to deal with that? The base has a big core with no giant double spots. Do you even need to lure with this? I guess I will try this one out more, if anyone has any more tips for the combo at th 9 I would appreciate it, thanks.
I regularly use VaHoLo in war and crush anti3s. You just have to know how many of each (or really how few of each) you need (can get away with). Basically I try and find a spot where valks can (with jump) take queen and 1-2 ADs (just like a shattered except they will last longer) and queen can take an AD and higs can take 1-2 ADs. Hogs and loons plus any remaining valks are clean up

Started using valks mid TH 9. I am now maxed except for about half walls and heroes. Started looking at this guide about a month ago and it has made a tremendous impact on my war attacks. Have started sharing with my clan mates in hopes of converting a few of them. Just wanted to thank all you guys that contributed.
There is a TH10 I need to attack in our current clan war. I am a TH9 and I have maxed troops including valks. The TH10 has 2 multi target infernos. I can use some other army comps and most likely get 2 stars but i would like to try an attack with valks. Not looking for specific plans but is there one strategy that might work better for my attack than others. I can try to plan the particulars.

What level are your royals? Because I'm just not having luck with any of your army configs. My troops are maxed and my BK is L13 and AQ is L14. With one golem, they just aren't strong enough. I usually get 2-stars in the 60%-68% range but never 3-stars. I just run out of troops.

ok so my royals are pretty beastly 28/28.. I sometimes forget that. If your valks are maxed you can use 15/15s (I started using this with 15/15 and lvl 3 valks). Those are just cookie cutter builds if you are finding one golem to not be enough then use two and cut back on some loon.
before the update most CCs were witch heavy so royals weren't as important (you'll see some of my old posts saying things like "you might not even need to use abilities, etc". Well now things have changed. Loons and dragons can vaporize you valks super fast so queens are very important or rages wizzies.
So based off your post I'm guessing you reach the core with valks and taken2 ADs but not the 3rd (you can deal with 1 left over AD usually with a loon rush...but not 2). So like I mentioned earlier a second golem or possibly a second jump spell can help.
you can also cut valks back a bit with a 2nd golem 6-8 ish

Any th9s using 4 quake spells to open up a side of the base for valks to run riot?
Im a near max th8 and been using valks and hogs in war and getting 3* on other th8s a lot more often than not.
Ive just 3*'d a rushed th9 (1xbow) using 4 quakes, 8 valks (led by golem) and a few hogs to get hard to reach towers.
As Im thinking ahead to th9 I was wondering if quakes and valks become even more viable in th9 as you have the extra spell space so you can still take 2 elixir spells...?
Or can you not afford to use so many spell spaces on quakes? or are there any other factors that mean you don't use it (much)?
