Whats the best war army composition at Th8, utilizing valkyrie?
What I've seen allot of my Valhalla comrades is
1 Golem
1 PEKKA
6-8 Valkyrie
Wizards and WB to likeing
1-2 Rage, 1-2 Heal
This seems pretty solid from the footage I've seen.
Valkyrie and Hogs are also very good at Th8. The DE cost makes people shiver though. Similar to the comp above but with about 8-10 hogs in tow. They either sport 3 heals or 1 rage and 2 heal.
Valkyrie/Hogs and healers is also actually pretty strong. Unfortunately I don't see many people make use of it.
An even split of Hogs/Valks, with a few wizards to clear a path also looks pretty strong from the replays I see. Trick is to get the Valks inside the base though.
What comp would you use for Hog n Valk TH9?
Nice guide, its helped me improve my attacks. I'm getting practice attacks in because i'm on a little suplus of de, and I've always liked valkyries, but I couldn't use them as effectively before. I haven't quite yet learned all the ins and outs yet. I'm still not sure how to effectively kill the clan castle.
My first attempt at doing a video analysis/guide.

Awesome man. I've really been just doing a variation of GoViz/GoVaPe tactics. I need more practice with your 8-10 hogs for an otter perimeter defense. This helps allot to explain some of it.
Part of it is in normal match making you have 30 seconds to pick an attack point. This means 1 GB during the lure can be devastating. I like that you could use a heal, as I like picking weak points in Th10 inferno coverage.
I only wish you had a few more bases to demonstrate the technique and nuances with deployment due to those layouts.
I want to work on a technique that I am thinking of calling the "Sling Shot"
Watching my own raids closely with 2 golems, I've noticed that as long as the Hogs aren't taking the brunt of DPS from the base, they can clear allot of defense in a compact section quickly. I've been basically blitzing the core and destroy as much as I could in 8 seconds. For bases with highly compacted defenses it has been devastating. But not every base has a good attack point to make sure all my units go to the core.
So I was thinking of bases where 1 Golem is enough to get Valks inside or even if I use 3 golems. Starting my surge to the core, dropping a golem along the side of the surge. Then having the Hogs clear the defenses on that side, while the bulk of the DPS is concentrated on the forces surging to the core.
But I think I'd want a few barbs to check for GB quick before deployment. As that has been the main reason I haven't done the "criss-cross" maneuver lately
But I don't want to practice in Champs. LoL, too unforgiving of mistakes.
Depends on the base. Always lure if its easy. If 2 giants will get the job done, its safer to just lure and eliminate.
So in most case at Th9 its better to lure.
But if the base has a difficult lure, you want that Golem to trigger the CC and to have that CC pull you towards your target. You want a jump to make sure your Valks rush in and a heal or rage for insurance. This takes practice but is pretty effective.
In regular raiding I generally don't lure, but that is largely because I am Th10 and its not hard to make a difficult lure. But it does limit which side of a base I can attack
Just wanted to say thanks. Great work Nio.
